Hard to believe that book with that cover would have many triggers: physical/sexual abuse. London XlX, family try to survive their extreme poverty environment with an abuse, alcoholic father who try to sell his daughter. Sylvia try to escape this world, try to find true love. My opinion is that story try to romanticize John‘s behavior who could be seen as a controlling person to justify his love for Sylvia? Abrupt happy ending?

I liked this book 2 better that the first one. Also predictable but we see more drama, town gossip with funny scenes, expected in cozy mysteries☺️I think I will try book 3⭐️

Dimpsie invited some friends from the theater to spend Christmas with him in his castle located in a private island near to Edinburgh. Dimpsie was found dead near to the tree which appear to be an accidental death…Dun Dun Dunnnand the drama begins….
Quite predictable 😏 with some funny scenes but predictable. I enjoyed it as a holiday read. It should be a so-so but I usually enjoy these crime classic stories🤷🏽‍♀️3⭐️

DogMomIrene My library doesn‘t have a copy yet. I hit that Notify Me tag in Libby and I‘ll let that cook. If I get itchy to read this one, I‘ll buy it. Because Zuck just disgusts me. I‘m surprised more of his employees aren‘t telling their tales. The move is progressing!! My windowsill books have moved to the piano for now. The bottom picture is an attempt to fit all my crates of books into one picture (unsuccessfully) - ended up with 96 crates of books + a few boxes.

I had read this Agatha Christie mystery before, but as usually couldn't remember the solution 😂 I'm the worst armchair detective ever, but it doesn't reduce my enjoyment of reading and rereading Christie's tales. ⬇

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) The romance was pretty unbelievable for me, but I still found the story entertaining. And honestly I think Poirot is so dang likable.
