I adored these 12 linked stories & meeting art collector & socialite Mr. Satterthwaite as he drives in his Rolls Royce to visit his tons & tons of friends & acquaintances. With each visit he inevitably encounters mysterious occurrences. Mr. Satterthwaite‘s guide,the enigmatic Mr. Quinn appears & disappears among the shadows.

Woke to find that a mere inch or so of snow has closed the schools. Granted, it was an 11:30 am release but all you mid westerners & westerners deserve
a HUGE laugh 😂 at our expense. Apparently an inch of snow is quite scary!
So I am leisurely enjoying my coffee and a book. 😄

I'm quite fond of these odd stories. They're full of drama, and focus more on art, music, and theatrical pursuits that most of Christie's other work. The POV character, elderly, old-fashioned Mr. Satterthwaite gives some grounding to the stories, so the woo-woo feels romantic.

Listened to this MONTHS ago just as I was about to head off for some hiking in the Alps! I hated the narrator but I do wish there were more Tommy and Tuppence books, they are my favourite Christie detectives!

I've read this fun collection many times, so tried an audiobook. There are quite a few; mine was narrated by Daniel Philpott, who does a good job on the many different accents. I felt he made T&T sound a little too sardonically sarcastic, but perhaps that's in keeping with their determined un-sentimentality.

I bailed on the library book (tagged) -due today but also I just couldn‘t get into it. Finished the Christie & audiobook.

I enjoyed the majority of these short mystery stories, which usually isn‘t “the case” (HA, get it? 😂). I correctly guessed the outcome of one of the mysteries early on so that one was kinda a bummer. But, I loved most of their other adventures and having more of Albert too was a treat. Can‘t wait to discuss it further at the end of the month @Librarybelle #christiecapers
