Goal 2 #awesomeapril readathon
A fea fantasy, with the basis set around Camelot, King Arthur, knights of the round table but also a spy element It does have the usual tropes but I liked that it was very different fast paced, I liked the characters so was a pick for me I will read the next one out in September.
#ReadAway2024 book 13
First goal met for #AwesomeApril readathon
As a dark tense psychological thriller this meets all the hype, it definitely had you guessing through the whole book and gives all the feels for all of it‘s craziness, wasn‘t my favorite thriller but it was a fast, entertaining read.
#readaway2024 book 11
A so so atmospheric story told with two time lines and two mysteries, overall was entertaining but wasn‘t as good as Mexican Gothic or The Daughter of Doctor Moreau
Book 10 #readaway2024
This was a so so character driven story about a college dorm and the RAs and students who live there and a visiting writing professor it was a slog until about 2/3. Honestly none of the characters were likable

#MarvellousMarch
This was a slow burn but very worth all the layers unfolded in this dark academia, murder mystery the story revolves around and is narrated by Bodie a true crime podcaster, she is asked to teach a class at her alma mater that brings up her past time at the school and a mystery of its own that has haunted her much was wrapped up in this story and brings so much to light on many topics but was so well written

Set in England Annabelle a woman from the country is strong and smart living in a unfortunate situation gets the chance to go to Oxford college in London, she gets involved in the suffrage movement and meets a Duke with different views, and the story takes off,I enjoyed the writing, all the characters and the fact it wasn‘t just a romance but was wrapped around woman‘s rights and politics made it more interesting book 7 #readaway2024
What sweet fun whimsical story I devoured in audio, will definitely be reading more of this series !
Book 6 #readaway2024
This is really between a pick and so-so,but as much as I think the plot was over the top , it had edge of your seat suspense and ended up being a fast paced thriller
Book 5 #ReadAway2024
I wanted to finish this book I am 61 % in and I just can‘t do it anymore,so disappointed because I did like Ninth House
This was a stirring emotional book of hurt and hopelessness but also love, and resilience. What I love about J.P books is that you are pulled in there is always something unexpected and she uses wonderful symbolism. I think Boylan also added so much. This story makes you think, gives you not only perspective on topics that are important and wraps it all in a suspenseful intriguing story
#readaway2024
Wow this book was a wild ride over 700 pages and I read it in 17 days a book this thick normally takes me over a month , I just couldn‘t stop reading it if your a fantasy junky like me pick this one up , some trigger warnings, but I really enjoyed it and will definitely read the next one
book 4 #ReadAway2024
My plan for my reading this year was to read more diverse and thought provoking books ,this book was very much that. This is speculative fiction,Bradbury tells a tale of what the future would look like without books, how as a society we let it happen it shows us how books might not give us all the answers but makes us ask the questions, they challenge you and make you think.#joyousjanuary
Book 2 of #readawya2024
This picked up from the first book, loved the atmosphere , the magic system, it was unique which I loved , had all the feels and great characters.
Book 1 of #readaway2024 #joyousjanuary
On board for #joyousjanuary started Fahrenheit 451 today and finishing Two Twisted Crowns #readathon
I am in, my goal for 35 books 📖 in 2024
I want to read a few more non fiction and maybe a few out of my comfort zone stories, not sure what these books will be but I am planning for a more diverse year ! #readaway2024
This took me a long time to read between getting Covid and the holidays and some other stuff took me forever! But I enjoyed it, it was a little long but I really like the characters so spending time with them and they‘re adventures was worth it,and the story is just fun looking forward to the next one!
A pretty good thriller mystery a lot of different twists , the ending was good. 2 book #NovelNovember
This was a fascinating story of Belle De Costa Greene also known as Belle Marion Greener a black woman who lived her life as a white woman because her and her family were fair skinned, she became a successful art and rare manuscripts curator for JPMorgan‘s Pierpont Morgan Library, a wonderful historical fiction
Book1 of #NovelNovember #readathon
Love to join these #readathons
1. Finishing Twenty Years Ago
2 The Librarians Assistant
3. Starting Iron Flame #novelnovember
This was a crazy ride, all over the place crazy , but the writing keeps you engaged and wanting more in a twisted way ! But I like it,the audio is the way to go it‘s so good
This was just ok for me what I did enjoy was the atmosphere and the short chapters ,but the characters even the main character Elin just were lack luster and the plot tried to be clever and surprising but in the end it didn‘t work for me.
This was a book of magic mixed with feminism, three woman each with different gifts come together to solve disturbing disappearances of young girls in a beach town, definitely some trigger warnings for violence, but overall a good book
I had planned different books for #outstandingoctober but this was a audio so it worked , two books read !
Probably a unpopular opinion but this story fell flat for me, four sisters close together in so many ways and yet they get pulled apart in a very family drama way. This starts in 70/80 moves to early 2000 and has nods to Little Woman, but something was off with the feel of the story I can‘t put my finger on
#outstandingoctober #readathon
I am in,life has been crazy lately and anxiety has kept my reading down but I am pushing for this readathon to snap me back in goals:
Hello Beautiful by Ann Napolitano
sanitarium by Sarah Pearse
#outstandingoctober #readathon
After Twenty Years Charlie Donlea
This was a wonderful historical fiction, set in the 1853 on the Oregon trail Naomi a recent young widow travels with her family to California to start a new life. John who is part Pawnee and part white called a two foot is a mule handler and decides to take this trip and the adventure begins. If anyone like 1883 the prequel to Yellowstone you would like this book. Also some of the characters are based on true people.I will read this author again
This a was a good fantasy that kept me engaged from the beginning, I always struggle with first in series but this one got from the beginning I will definitely continue the series
Set in Vermont this is a creepy story with dual time lines from early 1900 to current time, a mystery that unravels a story about a woman and a diary that alters lives in the past and present. It was just ok for me
This was a interesting dark fantasy about magic ,I enjoyed it but the ending makes you have to go to the next book to really enjoy the whole story
My only book read for #20in4 readathon but I was glad to have finished in about six hours or so
It‘s been a busy summer , unpopular opinion but I loved the humid rainy summer, I will definitely participate in #20in4
My books will be One Dark Window by Racheal Gillig
And Winter people by Jennifer McMahon
I have my grandchildren this weekend so two books is my goal and that‘s ambitious ha
Set in England, three woman in there late sixties early seventies all in different life situations decide to take a trip to Italy in a camper to find long lost relatives of of one of the the woman.it‘s a fun, adventurous trip meeting many different people and having wonderful experiences along the way with a dash of drama! Great fun
I love Elin Hilderbrand and her fun summer books, filled with drama but also lavish descriptions that sucked me in !
I really enjoyed getting to know Masie how she started out and all the characters that helped shape her life. So sad all the descriptions of the war and how it changed and effected so many lives including Masies. I will definitely be reading more in this series
A dark story of obsession with lush descriptions, this was moody and gothic
This was a epic fantasy you cannot rush through , I took my time to read this massive book of 846 pages
I did enjoy all the different characters but you need to pay attention.the writing was descriptive and the world building was awesome and such diversity was just well done !
#jubilantjuly readathon
I finished A Day of Fallen Night whoo that was a long book 📖
I did not read The Only One Left like I had planned but instead did a audio of Last Tale of the Flower Bride
I definitely am happy I met my goal !
Savoring this hulk of f a book A Day of Fallen Night loving it so far , on vacation but doing a few things with the kiddos so my goal is to finish ADOFN and The Only One Left
#JubliantJuly readathon
This was so-so pick for me I thought it got better towards the end
This was an interesting, thought provoking book and I really enjoyed the writing and the creativity. I was invested in all the characters and their stories ❤️I also liked how the author put a spin on how politics played a big role in this story and I felt like there were messages of how politics can create division under times of uncertainty
Book 1 of #JoysofJune readathon
Wow it‘s that time of the month 😳definitely participating in #joysofJune readathon
My list is The Measure by Nikki Erlick
It‘s a toss up between Personal Librarian and Hang the Moon I also have Song of the Forever Rains, but this is ambitious 😂
Fun fantasy different and creative loved the way the author arranged the story.Violet the main character tells you the history and the world building through her voice she recited these facts when she‘s nervous, she has always thought she would be a scribe but trains to be a rider.loved that it was not 1000 pages and there wasn‘t a lot of baseless dialog to fill pages it did read a little more YA then adult but doesn‘t take away from the story ❤️
Well done 👏👏👏 (edited) 5d
