Read along with #Pemberlittens #JaneAdjacent I‘m giving it a soft pick. It was enjoyable & I liked the MC Jane & also Mr. Vincent, but the other characters not so much & while I enjoyed the magical elements, I felt like the world-building around them wasn‘t deep enough. But, overall, it was a nice nod to Jane Austen while still maintaining its own story. I may read more in the series if it ⬇️

A memoir from a woman who started drinking at 13 and kept on drinking for another 25+ years. She added to the mix ecstasy, cocaine, prescription painkillers, crack and whatever else wasn‘t locked down. As a high-functioning alcoholic, she maintained jobs, but couldn‘t survive friendships or romantic relationships. Once sober, she got to know herself again ❤️‍🩹

#SheSaid #ReadAway2024 An excellent, heartbreaking book. Several times I had to stop listening to this audiobook to reduce my rage and grief at the way Black citizens have been legally murdered by the police and private citizens. Read and be educated.

Fascinating story of Mark, camping in the desert alone, who awakens to a powerful light that transports him to another time and place. Survival instincts compel him to defend himself and prove his strength.
