A book about bookshops, their owners and authors who loves books, what‘s not to love?
But I will say that the focus is mostly on Scotland and England for bookstores, and for at lot of the other countries the focus in on book towns.

Not my best reading week, but I knew I would do a lot of sleeping after the operation
But I did finish The Switch
I‘m currently reading both The BookShop Book and The Secrets of the Stormforest. I hope to finish Stormforest today
The others are potentials I didn‘t get to and didn‘t manage to remove from the picture 😊
Here‘s all my independent bookstore purchases for the month. An online order from Parnassus in Nashville (after listening to the most recent Indie Press List from the Currently Reading podcast ) and in person shopping at Politics and Prose in Washington DC, and Talking Leaves Books here at home in Buffalo NY. I celebrated Indie Bookstore day all month!
Can't resist a book about books/bookshops! Nice new bookmark to go with it as well! However I strongly suspect I already have this book on my Kindle or NetGalley shelf already. 🤔

As if I didn‘t already know how super lucky I am to have moved house and found the most brilliant miniature bookshop in the next village - but Mrs Harris (of Harris & Harris books!) even smells the books and describes their smell alongside the synopsis when she posts new books to her Instagram account. Love Mrs Harris!
I‘m a small town market town about 15 mins from our new house I found my new Happy Place! This is going to be my new ‘local‘!
My #cbbc book is back. I loved this year of cozy mysteries, and had the best packages from @BookwormAHN . Thank you so much for this lovely box with yummy coffee, pretty lights and books!
Wonderful armchair travel, this collection of fabulous bookshops from around the world is essentially a big bucket list of places to visit. Just lovely. It was also nice to see a LibraryThing friend of mine and my local indie mentioned in here - twice! Highly recommended.
Book 6 of the #readathon #deweyapril and I‘ve managed to hit my goal of 6 books and 10 hours. Not to jinx myself, but I‘m feeling pretty good and will keep chugging along!
Please support your local bookshops in these crazy times. A lot of them deliver to your home and they need us right now!! ❤️
If you‘re ever in Bath - squeeze in some time to explore Mr Bs Reading Emporium.... it‘s the most beautiful shop.
"A good bookshop shows you the books that you never knew you wanted. It doesn‘t merely fulfil your desires, it expands them. If you know the book you want, go into a bookshop and buy it, you have failed."
On the bus reading the tagged book. This quote is so true. I've never enjoyed bookstores in which I don't end up discovering a book I have never heard of before.
I can‘t find this actual book in the Litsy database, and it looks like it‘s out of print, but it fits two photo challenge prompts so I‘m going with it 😂. The Hungry #Ghost #Festival

Bookshop number 11 of 27 ! This one is such a warren, it‘s in an old cinema building and there are maps everywhere in case you get lost on the stacks! #bookishproblems
This is a compilation of some amazing bookshops around the world, some incredible stories of bookshop owners, chats with authors on their favourite bookshops, intersperses with fun Bookish Facts and little info about history of books. Reading through this book reminds me why books and bookshops are important in the lives of the readers and bookshop owners; and why bookshops are still relevant today. A lovely book.
“A good bookshop shows you the books that you never knew you wanted. It doesn‘t merely fulfil your desires, it expands them”. Mark Forsyth.
How many times we enter our favourite bookstores and come out with titles other than those on our wish list! 🙈

“These places are time machines, spaceships, story-makers, secret-keepers. They are dragon-tamers, dream-catchers, fact-finders, and safe places. They are full of infinite possibilities and tales worth taking home.”
Have been dipping in and out of this book between my reads.

Oh, sh!t! Better check my overdraft! 🤯
Having a short break in Bath, and stumbled across Topping & Co., open until 7:30pm! I'm gonna be here a while! 📚📚📚
Topping & Co in St Andrews, Scotland is my favourite bookshop in the world. I wrote a bookshop spotlight for my blog. You can read it here: www.theconstantreader.net/blog 😊
An alley extension to a bookshop in the Jimbōchō district of Tokyo.
Our first port was Key West. We had only one destination in mind: Judy Blume‘s Books & Books.
The fiction wall at More Than Words 🤩📚📚📚📚📚📚
PS if you‘re interested, you can read more about the shop and their cause here: https://mtwyouth.org/ 💗
Ummm any Littens from Massachusetts?? I was up in Boston this weekend and found this fabulous secondhand shop, More Than Words, with a great mission to help youth who are in foster care, court-involved, or homeless get empowered and learn about the business. I did a bit of damage but it was for such a good cause. ☺️💜📚📚📚 This location has only been open for a few months!
#shirlitesunite Not only the name ‘Shirley‘, but ‘Wendy‘ used to be a masculine name too! 🤔

Oldie but goodie
“Most of the bookstores around town sell used books because of the belief that old books should be preserved in an increasingly digital age.” ❤️❤️❤️

⭐️⭐️⭐️ In this love letter to bookshops, Jen Campbell takes us on a world tour of several notable booksellers. Between the shop descriptions are a few author interjections and bookish facts. I dipped in and out of this over the course of a month, often skimming. It‘s a nice idea, but just seemed to go on for an eternity. Also, I was anxious to get to the US section – to see which ones I‘ve visited thus far (3) – and it‘s near the back. 😆
Is it even a holiday if you don‘t drag your significant other across town to a bookshop. Totally recommend Dar Books and bistro in Beirut
