Deeply loving this on audio, read by Jenny. As other Littens have noted, the author‘s style is unique. I recommend reading in small doses, no more than one or two weirds a day, for maximum appreciation. YMMV.

Enjoying on audio & gaining some knowledge about life for rural Italians & Italian immigrants to the US in the early 20th Century.
This biography/ memoir of O‘Meara‘s journey researching her subject was excellent on audio. I also recommend having the print book, for the archival photos. I particularly appreciated the in depth info & context of some of the other influential woman in Milicent‘s life.
Shirley Jackson comparisons will almost always draw me to a new author or work.
Appreciating that this anthology is read by multiple readers via Libro.fm. About five stories in, and they‘ve all been stellar.
This was very nicely done!! Should be satisfying to both established fans & new readers just encountering these characters.
