An interesting read filled with useful tips and advice on how to declutter rather than organise your house. Her two step rule is clever and did get me thinking. 3*

Can always use the decluttering inspiration!
Reading this book, I‘ve come to the conclusion that I‘m not actually ready to declutter (other than the baby stuff I‘ve already identified that really needs to be given away). I kept mentally protesting, “but I DO have room for more bookshelves!” My house doesn‘t have enough organizational stuff to take advantage of the space we have, and we don‘t use what we have well. I‘d prefer to make progress there before deciding my container is full.
Oh I like the books by Dana so much. They are so motivating! Now I'll grab a trash bad and start to decluttering.
Book 1 of 6 for my #winterreadathon @Andrew65

A great read with practical tips and advice on how to achieve a minimalist approach to living. Don‘t let your stuff run your life! #declutter
Now this is a decluttering book I can take advice from!
This book is fantastic for a little real life motivation. The humor was good. & easy read. & wonderful to motivate & continue to declutter & clean. Wonderful read.
I started this a while back before the audio came out but but finally finishing it now. It‘s just better hearing her tell it. I got to meet her a couple years ago, she‘s a very down to earth person with some straightforward and practical advice in this book. #BookSpinBingo
⭐⭐⭐⭐Hands down one of the better books I have read on decluttering and I have read quite a few. This practical guide is so helpful in getting you to identify why you clutter your environment up and how you need to go about decluttering it in a way that won't freak you out but will leave you happier and with a sense of accomplishment and inner peace as you gaze around at your decluttered surroundings. #declutteringatthespeedoflife #danakwhite
I am surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. White manages to give practical advice for dealing with clutter based on her own life experience, but offers it in a non- judgmental way. This book was actually fun to read and I‘m coming away with a strategy that will work to get clutter out of my house, just in time for the holidays.
A reread for my move. I like the system by Dana K White

Recommended; eager to start incorporating ideas into my routines!
I love Dana White. I don't know why, but since yesterday I have so much motivation to decluttering and washing my dishes. Her system is sooo easy. I hope it will last a loooong time (perhaps forever?)

Oh I love this audiobook. But I have a problem: I hear it every morning before I have to go to work. So I havn't time to begin decluttering but the book is soooo motivating. Why I can't say my biss that I can't work because I have to declatter? 😂🤣🤣 #bookproblems #bookshelf #mybookshelf
Oh I like this audiobook! The idea of "Your house is a limited box" is good! #nonfiction #declutter #mylive
I have read decluttering books b4 & gotten a few things out of Peter Walsh & miss Marie Kondo "Spark of Joy" & Julie Morgenstern but THIS is the 1st book that had a major shift. Keep whatever you want as long as it fits in the "container" THEN apply other wisdom from other decluttering masters made it actual possible to do. I'm so happy I stumbled on this little jem of a book. Even made the beginning chapters of annoying parts tolerable
I‘m only about halfway through this book and the library is going to grab back my ecopy tonight and then there‘s a four week wait to get it back. I‘ve been distracted with YA books, I guess. I‘m enjoying this book. It‘s written in a very casual style, like a blog. It‘s not about cleaning or organizing, but getting rid of the junk, whether you have five minutes or a long weekend to devote. It reinforces the “less is more” idea in a workable way.
"If it doesn't fit in the container, you can't keep it."
Good ideas!
Getting ready for tomorrow‘s Dewey‘s Readathon, a little later and more scattered than normal. But hey, it‘ll be fun regardless. I have a friend staying at my house this weekend, and she says she wants to participate too, but she reads less than I normally do, so we shall see.
I‘ll be posting here mostly, and not so much on my blog or Instagram.
Who else is joining in? #deweys #readathon
I almost gave a so-so rating because of her section on getting rid of books. Why do decluttering books think books on bookshelves are clutter? Seems like the first book to dispose of then would be that decluttering book. (Marie Kondo did this too.) I liked her idea of dedicating a few minutes a day to decluttering. I'm on the fence over the container system she promotes, as that just contains the mess. I just need my room of boxes to disappear!
Nothing earth shattering, but great strategies to purge/declutter areas quickly. I thought the author was quite funny. I wished for a little more on spouses and kids, since it's all easier to row if we are all holding a paddle. I'm rounding this one up to 4/5 stars.
