Afternoon reads and snacks for #deweys #readathon #deweyoct

First book finished today for #deweys #readathon, though I started this one yesterday. I really enjoyed this book, a twist on the usual “haunted house” story that felt witchy and very atmospheric but not true horror (and very different from the only other book that I‘ve read by James Herbert, the Secret of Crickley Hall). Cottagecore horror lite would probably be a good way to describe it.

Wrap up for the #Deweys 24 Hour #Readathon. 16 hrs & 2 mins, finished two books (one e-book, one audio) & got 20% into a 3rd book (audio). This is the most time I think I‘ve ever read for this event. The audiobooks helped to keep me reading while I ate & did a few chores. I stayed away from social media for the most part, to keep distractions to a minimum, & I chose books that were fast paced (with the exception of Beartown, so far). #deweyoct

I wasn‘t sure about continuing this series after the last book, but this third Aurora Teagarden book was fantastic. Aurora tries her hand at real estate & the bodies pile up. I thoroughly enjoyed this mystery & it reminded me of the books through which I became a true reader. I did need to remind myself of when these books were written, as there are a couple of references that today are insensitive and made me cringe. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5 #serieslove2023

Is anyone else doing #Deweys 24 Hour Readathon? I‘ve been so busy lately and have only had minutes per day to read. I cannot wait to dedicate my entire day and evening to reading tomorrow. I just got my #readathon books set tonight, focusing on #serieslove2023. No snacks planned, but I don‘t need them.
