I can‘t say enough good things about this one! Might be one of the best #nonfiction I‘ve read this year. EVERYONE needs good negotiation skills. These recommendations come from a former FBI hostage negotiator. He has since moved on to teaching business negotiation at Ivy League schools. This book could change your life! #lifeskill #negotiation

I love Bob Odenkirk and while some of his stories were amusing, this one lacked the comedic punch I was hoping for. Still a good read as a #bio

Such a timely read, a father of a Parkland school shooting victim describes his life with loss regarding 9/11 and the loss of his daughter. A tribute to the helpers in his life, he also describes the aftermath of the tragedy and how he has memorialized his daughter through gun control efforts.

I miss Anthony Bourdain, recently read Kitchen Confidential so picked up this memoir of his production partner describing his friendship with him. Definitely some sad parts as he talks with all that Anthony wrestled with in his life. Also some funny stories too. The author does a good job balancing reality with Bourdain‘s charisma.

This was a great read! A pseudo biography of Agatha Christie and her contributions to forensic science. A nurse by training, she used her knowledge from nursing to inform the books she wrote.

brittanyreads Does this spoil her books? 2y
Smartypants @BrittanyReads it doesn‘t, it talks more about how she uses her training and experience as a nurse to inform how she wrote about poisoning in particular but doesn‘t reveal the “who did it”. It also talks about her writing shaped modern day forensics, with terminology, crime scene analysis and autopsies. I haven‘t read all her books yet but I think it will make me appreciate her books so much more. 2y
brittanyreads Thank you! I've been wanting to read this but haven't read a lot of her books and would be so sad to be spoiled! I will have to pick it up now. It sounds so interesting ☺️ 2y

I had high hopes for this book, unfortunately, it fell a little flat. The premise includes stories about putting other folks first, before yourself. While I can agree with that some of the time; I‘ve learned over the last few years that it‘s also important to put yourself first and the importance of self-care.
