I quite enjoyed this, although I was hoping it was set more in the past (based on the fun feel of the cover, I thought it might be 1930-1950 Cary Grant/Katherine Hepburn type rom com).

I saw rave reviews, so I thought I‘d try to squeeze in this last audiobook for the year.

I am so glad my library bought enough new copies that I was able to get this before the end of the year. It is delightful and totally worthy of the hype. It‘s the perfect locked-room mystery/rom-com combination I didn‘t know I needed but can‘t believe I‘ve lived without for so long. Entertaining, mad, and fun. I read the whole thing after work today. I simply couldn‘t put it down.

This was such a fun story — lots of classic mystery elements with two intrepid lead characters on the case. Maggie and Ethan each have their own baggage, but they work their way through it as they work their way through the mysterious circumstances that brought them together. Lots of entertaining side characters, and a sweet romance that made the story richer and more fulfilling. A great holiday read!

I forget how fun it is to get so engrossed in a story that you don‘t put it down until it is finished. Short chapters work well for me in that way too. If you‘re looking for another book to sneak in before the new year, this is a good choice. Loved the Knives Out/Rom Com with great female characters. I too would read another with this couple.

No wonder I was seeing this all over everyone's feed! What a delight! The banter of Maggie & Ethan had me smiling throughout - I could picture a Cary Grant type playing Ethan. Read this in one sitting & absolutely adored it.

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.61-end: wow! I didn‘t see the twist coming - it was very craftily done. Everything was properly wrapped up in a perfect bow. The only thing I was hoping for was for Maggie to be Eleanor‘s long lost niece somehow…but sadly I was not correct about that. Still it was a great book - a lot of fun with romance and suspense. I truly enjoyed it!

This was a fun read for the holiday. I enjoyed the way the romance unfolded.

I loved this Christmas caper. The locked room mystery, the cast of suspects, and the clues made for a fun story. The witty banter and the backstory between Maggie and Ethan really worked for me. I'll be looking for more by this author.

Delightful and funny with really clever banter, this was a great enemies to lovers romance with a good bit of mystery thrown in. I went into it pretty blind so I won‘t say much but so good on #audio ! Loved these characters and would enjoy seeing them again! #BookspinBingo @TheAromaofBooks

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.56-60: I‘m so glad Ethan found Maggie in time and that she listened to him long enough to believe that he didn‘t try to kill anyone- at least not yet. He‘s pretty upset at what happened to Maggie (swoon). And as to what happened in Tucson? Double swoon. He‘s on my book boyfriend list for sure. There‘s not much of the book left so we‘ll finish it off tomorrow! I honestly can‘t wait any longer.

This has so many things I love - an old-fashioned manor with a maze, homage to Agatha Christie, a mystery, Christmas, witty banter, and just the right amount of romance! It totally lives up to the hype. Perfect holiday read!🎄 #wintergames #christmaschapterchasers @StayCurious

Excellent writing. Locked room, snowed in mystery with plenty of unexpected twists. Love-hate-can-they-trust-each other relationship between the two MCs. Plenty of humor. Wonderful, escapist entertainment! Couldn‘t put it down.

It was a great who-done-it Christmas book that had me engrossed from beginning to end. The audio production of this book was well done and I absolutely love the cover. 4.5 ⭐️

I really wanted to finish this one last night but just couldn‘t stay awake so I was happy I woke up with enough time to get an hour of reading in before work.i don‘t think I would have picked up this book without all of the praise on Litsy. It was everything everyone said it was -a joyful balance of a closed door mystery and romance. I enjoyed every page.

#LittensLoveRomance Hope you all had a nice holiday yesterday! Ch.51-55: Eek, Maggie don‘t believe it! There has to be an explanation. Ethan is a good guy and he‘s the best guy for you. But who bashed her in the head and put her in the greenhouse? Are they planning on starting another fire?

I‘m not usually a whodunnit reader, but this was cute and fun! Last holiday book in the can, back to some regularly scheduled reading. 🎄📚❤️❄️

Finished this one tonight & I quite enjoyed it. It was a fun caper & cozy rom-com with likable leads. I loved the English estate, locked room mystery setting that kept me guessing mostly throughout (I figured out the guilty party towards the end, but didn‘t quite have the ‘“why” in place.) A pretty perfect holiday read with the right amount of everything. I was also happy to see from the notes in the back of the book that the ⬇️

Book 5 read this month. I really enjoyed this rom-com mystery. I didn‘t expect to like it and not with that retro cover☺️But it has mystery, romance, and it‘s funny. This was the most perfect rom-com crime mystery of the year😂🎄Maybe my Grinch heart 💚 felt something☺️ 3.8⭐️

Merry Christmas everyone! I was happy to finish this before Christmas lunch. It was as fun as everyone has said. I loved it. This was my #BookSpin for December.

Perfect time to read this book! I‘ve never read a cozy mystery let alone a cozy mystery romance, and I can see the appeal. This was very cute and I breezed right through it which is just what I needed this week to decompress. Really don‘t love the cover, though. #botm

Since I needed torun to the store this morning, I went to the one with a restaurant & treated myself to a holiday breakfast. Mexican Street Avocado Toast with an over-easy egg, a side of Ulu-Potato Rosti & pineapple juice & camomile tea with honey for my scratchy throat & cough. I read a bit more of this fun holiday caper. Now off to grab some groceries & head back to the couch. 😉

So much fun! Don‘t want to say too much because I read this with #LittensLoveRomance, but I did not guess the twist.

Such a fun holiday rom-com!! Mystery writer Maggie has had a hard time lately after her marriage falls apart. A mysterious invitation from her editor for a trip over the holidays should be a great distraction— except her writer nemesis, Ethan, shows up on the private plane! With a locked room mystery, enemies to lovers and great banter, this is a light hearted and quick read perfect for the season! I appreciated the Agatha Christie inspiration!

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.46-50: the more I get to know Maggie and Ethan the more I want them to be together. This book has sucked me in for sure. I‘m still not sure who the would-be killer is though. I want to say Rupert because he‘s a conniving weasel but I‘m leaning towards Cece or even Rupert‘s wife bc you‘d never suspect her. But who really knows except maybe Eleanor and the villain of the piece.⬇️

Officially starting #cozychristmas with my second cup of coffee (already half drunk) and this awesome book, which although I‘m reading for #LittensLoveRomance, I‘m most likely going to go ahead and finish because I don‘t want to put it down!

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.41-46: Someone has been out to get Eleanor for longer than we thought. That‘s probably why she seemed sad when Maggie came across her earlier in the book. Perhaps she invited the mystery writers as a way to help her solve her own case. I liked that Ethan and Maggie are sharing now - I mean, what better time and place than in a dark passageway - no escaping if things get real. So now my question is what happened in Tucson??

This new release is a #kindledailydeal today for $2.99 if you haven‘t picked it up yet.

I already have it as a #botm selection but I did get these four other books.

There are a lot more holiday themed books on sale today as well.

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.36-40: Boy, Rupert is a piece of work. How sad to have family you can‘t trust. Poor Eleanor. I wasn‘t surprised there was a secret passage in her house - because of course there is. How fun and potentially useful for her. What will Maggie and Ethan find I wonder?

Sorry @StayCurious ! I hit 100 pages and couldn‘t put it down! I‘m like that with a nice cozy mystery. Plus, this was a lot of fun with the romance plot. Thanks for picking this book for a read along because I might not have prioritized otherwise. It‘s definitely a fun book! #BOTM 🎄 ❄️

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.31-35: I think I may be obsessed with Ethan now - the romance in this book is ramping up, and there‘s no one who deserves it more than Maggie. Man, Colin is a jerk. I feel so bad that she was treated like that by her husband. She deserves so much more!

This is what I‘m currently reading and my reading buddy. He‘s the neighbor‘s cat. His name is Sky but at our house, we call him Tom. My mom and I feed him when he visits us so I guess he‘s our cat too. He never went home last night. He stayed inside all night and I put him outside before I went to bed so he could use the bathroom and he was outside today when I got up and I fed him. He went home after that and then he came back again hungry.

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.21-25: Maggie is on a mission and she doesn‘t care if she leaves anyone behind. Better she does it first than let them leave her. Which is why she can‘t trust Ethan right now and can‘t share what she thinks she knows. Is she right though? Is this a test set up by Eleanor? If so, there‘s no one who knows her more than Maggie. Maggie is set to win. But will she need help along the way?

I was really interested in this #LittensLoveRomance pick, but I‘m trying really hard to cut down on book purchases and spending in general. Lo and behold I go to check it out (again) and it‘s only $2.99 on kindle AND I have some credits so it‘s only $0.74! I couldn‘t let the opportunity pass. Now let‘s see if I can read it in the next two weeks!

Just wanted to catch up with #LittensLoveRomance but then got sucked in and read the whole story in one sitting.

Loved the banter. The mystery was well-crafted. Enough information to keep me turning the pages, but not too much so that I was bored by the foreshadowing. The snowed in manor would be a dream to visit, including the greenhouse.
