Sorry I‘m late, friends! Here is the #TBRtarot pick for July! Enjoy 😊 Heads up, if you‘re participating in #camplitsy25, the Okorafor book is sci fi (I‘ll be using it for this prompt)!

RaeLovesToRead I read all the genres hehe. Guess it's got to be a sports romance lol 1d

MatchlessMarie This is perfect for this month! I have a coworker who a few weeks ago remembered how I liked books and started talking to me about what he was reading and he‘s been trying to get me into fantasy and lent me his copy of Eragon as a gateway book 😂 to try out. Most fantasy I have read are other genres with light fantasy elements in them so far. 1d
CBee @RaeLovesToRead believe it or not, I read one of those and it was great 1d
CBee @MatchlessMarie that‘s awesome! 1d
Ruthiella Hmmm. This might be a tough one! 1d
OriginalCyn620 Okay, I have to give this one some thought! 🤔 it may be a toss up between nonfiction and fantasy 1d
CBee @OriginalCyn620 did you ever read The House in the Cerulean Sea? That‘s fantasy! And it‘s fabulous! The sequel is too. 1d
OriginalCyn620 @CBee Yes, I‘ve read both and loved them! Fantasy is hit or miss for me, but sometimes I am pleasantly surprised! 1d
CBee @OriginalCyn620 same! Klune does write a lot of fantasy so maybe another of his would also work! 1d
Bklover Well, this might mean a romance for me! Maybe I‘ll finally read 1d
Meshell1313 Ooh interesting. I‘ve had this suspense thriller on my shelf forever because I don‘t typically read it but it was one of those $5 Barnes and noble cafe books and they get me every single time! 😂 1d
CatLass007 This could be difficult. I read every genre. I‘ve never read a Wastern but I have some — nope I take that back. I read Robert B Parker‘s Westerns the first four books of the Cole & Hitch series are excellent because Parker wrote them. His estate hired someone to ruin them by writing more. Let me think… I love science fiction, fantasy, mystery, suspense, thrillers, biography, memoir, faith-based nonfiction. I don‘t remember reading any (cont)⬇️ 1d
CatLass007 history, but I know I‘ve got some in my library. They‘re all so long, though. 1d
CBee @Bklover I read an Emily Henry book a while back and really liked it! 1d
CBee @Meshell1313 go for it! 1d
CBee @CatLass007 you can always skip! 😊 1d
CatLass007 Nope, I found one. Actually I found several but I finally settled on one. It‘s an un-history book. 24h
CBee @CatLass007 awesome 🤩 23h
AmyG I am going to count my Sunday Buddy Read Book….it‘s YA. Not my genre. 23h
CBee @AmyG sounds good to me ♥️ 23h
julieclair I‘m going to use the #LittensLoveRomance selection for this month (title still to be determined). The genre is Steampunk - totally new to me! 14h
CBee @julieclair perfect 🤩 12h

June #RomanceRoundup

Poetry On Ice - Enemies to lovers isn‘t a trope I generally enjoy. This one handled it reasonably well, but I found the 🌶 a bit icky
Pucked - Read with #LittensLoveRomance (thanks @StayCurious ) teammate‘s sister trope, started well but never developed the relationship beyond the physical, which just got boring
Untouchable Player - Sweet jock/nerd & teammate‘s brother trope
Blue Line - OK but forgettable fake dating trope

I really enjoyed reading this for #LittensLoveRomance and look forward to reading more of the series. It‘s fun and very spicy and not meant to be taken too seriously. Perfect escapism. 4⭐️ Thanks for hosting @StayCurious ! 🤗

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.27-epilogue and review: a satisfying ending with a move in, a vacation, a slight dress up mishap 😅 and a proposal. I enjoyed reading Alex and Violet‘s journey but I think some of the character growth was impeded by all the sexy times. Don‘t get me wrong - this book is hot and pretty fun, but a bit too spicy at times. ⬇️

StayCurious Some more real conversations may have been called for at times - and more mature decisions needed to be made. I still find myself interested to read the rest of the series though. Buck and Sunny should be a hoot. 1w
mcctrish I find it hard to believe a 25 yr old would own all the real estate 1w

OriginalCyn620 Definitely should have been some actual conversations about something other than their privates. Because of all the sexy times, I just couldn‘t buy that they had a real connection, and that kinda ruined the story for me. It seemed to me throughout that it was purely physical. 1w
CarolynM I‘m with you @OriginalCyn620 I‘m disappointed because I thought it started really well. 1w
vonnie862 I liked Alex but not Violet as much. I agree. There wasn't much character growth but plenty of sexy time. 1w
julesG I agree, a few real conversations were missing. We wanted to see them fall in love, not just in lust. 1w

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.25-26: well, that was very romantic-movie-esque - a public declaration of love after a Stanley cup win - it‘s all happy. I‘m glad they talked finally and she‘s willing to give them a chance. And not only because she misses the MC. She‘ll have to learn to be vulnerable just like he will in order for this to work. We‘ll finish tomorrow!

This was okay...I enjoyed Alex but not Violet as much. Violet needed to shut up a few times, IMO. Some of the sexy stuff was good, but it got old pretty quick.

#unpopularopinion time. Repetitive AF. I knew going in that this was spicy, which is fine, but there was sexy times in every chapter except for 2, maybe 3. And it just seemed like the MCs did literally nothing but bang it out, so I don‘t buy that they formed an emotional connection. When they did talk, it was mostly about each other‘s private parts. And if I never hear the words cock, beaver, or monster ever again, that would be fine with me!

CarolynM Yeah, I‘m not loving it for the reasons you give. There are a lot of better hockey romances out there. 1w
willaful I knew from the sample it wasn't gonna be for me. 1w
TheAromaofBooks I definitely find it frustrating when there isn't any story to balance the spice. 1w

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.23-24: Oof- these chapters made me sad. I hate break ups especially when both members are heartsick and want to get back together. I appreciated that Alex fired his agent and was willing to go on the air with his feelings for Vi. I guess she didn‘t see the interview. Or it hasn‘t aired yet. Will it change her mind?

BarkingMadRead Awful all around! I hope they can work it out (edited) 1w
OriginalCyn620 I‘m glad Violet stood her ground though. She shouldn‘t feel like she has to talk to Alex just because he wants to. She should wait until she‘s ready. And I love the old neighbor beating him with a broom to get him out of the building! 😂 1w
See All 6 Comments
vonnie862 The neighbor was awesome! 1w
Read4life I want a neighbor like that! 1w
CarolynM I was glad to read a couple of chapters with no sex which had, frankly, become boring. But Alex is so inconsistent, I don‘t know how Violet could ever trust him again. 1w

I finished this #littensloveromance last night. It‘s probably the spiciest spice level I‘ve read becasue it‘s unrelenting. The Canadian settings are fun- Toronto, Guelph and cottage country, a fair bit was cringe and I feel like Violet became a different person as the book went on or the author wanted to cover too much on top of the non stop shagging

StayCurious Yeah - funny I had read this before years ago and I didn‘t remember it being quite so full of sexy times. Took away from the story a bit this time around. 1w
sarahbarnes Nonstop shagging 😂 1w
