This was the next instalment of the London Steampunk series that I started with #LittensLoveRomance. It‘s Rip and Esme‘s story and I loved it - this series is dark and gritty but full of great characters that you root for and fall for. I can‘t wait for the next one.

LiseWorks I've got to read this too! 4d

Finished with the #littensloveromance crew. I started late but quickly caught up, the story was cute & I devoured it like candy. Definitely had some hang ups about the main characters but overall it was a fun summery read. Myrna, the old Hollywood movie star neighbor, was for sure the highlight. She knows how to knock some sense into those young people!
Also, I totally did not understand the title reference until the author's note at the end 😅

StayCurious Ah I didn‘t read the author‘s note I‘ll have to go back 1w
peanutnine @StayCurious it might have been an audiobook only thing. She was answering fan questions and talked about the title a little 1w

Repost for @StayCurious

Our September read for #LittensLoveRomance has been selected and we‘re going to the fairgrounds. Has anyone ever been to a renaissance fair? I‘ve always wanted to go but there aren‘t any good ones in my area that I know of. But they sound like a lot of fun and a great setting for our next book. We‘ll be reading 2 chapters a day starting Sept 15.

BarkingMadRead So excited! I‘ve had this book on my shelf for awhile! 1w
CrowCAH I voted for this one! I‘ll be reading! (Hopefully I keep up with the two chapters a day.) A couple days ago I went to the Michigan Renaissance Festival! (edited) 1w
Read4life Just got my copy. 1w
julieclair I‘m in! Should be a fun one. I went to a Renaissance Fair maaanny years ago and enjoyed it. My strongest memory is the roasted turkey legs… seemed like absolutely everyone was gnawing on one! 🍗🤣 1w
OriginalCyn620 I have been to a Ren Faire and it was a blast! But I‘ve already read this one so I will skip this month. Please keep me on the list for October! (edited) 1w

julesG I've read this already. I'll skip this month, but please tag me for the October read. 1w
willaful Also skipping because I've already read it. Word of warning: the audiobook is mostly excellent but it drove me crazy because she read the “tavern wenches“ with aristocratic accents. 1w
TheAromaofBooks I've read this one, but it's been a few years and I really enjoyed it, so I'll join you!! 1w

#RomanceRoundup
Love‘s Labours - 3 stories following the same couple as they perform in summer stock over 3 seasons. I enjoyed it a lot.
Love of the Game & Reckless on Ice - hockey romances that were better than the ones I bailed on, but not really memorable.
Love Me Do - entertaining enough but I was more invested in the story of the fabulous elderly neighbour than the romance. Read with #LittensLoveRomance. Thanks for the readalong @StayCurious

3✨ This was a cute romance, and sisterly love book. I laughed at Phoebe‘s clumsy ways, and cringed at interactions between other characters. While her sister was not with her through a lot of the book, it made it more interesting with the interactions she made with three other characters. When the sisters were together it‘s the type of relationship all sisters should have with love and acceptance. #LittensLoveRomance

#LittensLoveRomance Ch. 25-26/review: in a whirlwind couple of chapters Phoebe musters up her courage and tells Ren how she feels, only to cut and run in the morning. WTF Pheebs? Way not cool. At least everyone calls her out on it, including Ren, and they establish that there aren‘t so many obstacles standing between them as she keeps insisting upon. I was a bit annoyed at Pheobe towards the end. ⬇️

StayCurious She takes one step forward and 17 back. But she came around eventually. Thanks in big part to Myrna. Myrna was the best part of this book - what a cool character! I‘d love to read her memoirs. Maybe Pheobe will help her write them. Overall I enjoyed this light romance and I‘d love to read Suzanne‘s story next - though not sure the author has that planned. 2w
Kshakal I love Myrna and agree she was the best part of this book! 2w

peanutnine Definitely Myrna was my favorite! And the ending was a whirlwind - if Phoebe had just talked to anyone about the issue she would have seen it wasn't that difficult 🙄 I did enjoy the callback to the beginning about only going to LAX for someone you love, it was a cute way for Ren to show his true feelings 2w
peanutnine And I would totally read Suzanne's story! 2w
mcctrish Myrna was the best. Phoebe never let Ren talk 2w
OriginalCyn620 Myrna was definitely the best part of this book! Ren was pretty swoonworthy too. I‘m glad Phoebe did eventually come around! 2w
julieclair I was so frustrated with Phoebe for sneaking out the way she did. I‘m glad they didn‘t let her get away with it. 2w
vonnie862 Real friends call you out when you mess up. Im glad they told her because that was not fair to Ren. 2w
vonnie862 I enjoyed this book. I needed this light read. 2w
CarolynM Yep, Myrna was the most entertaining part of the book for me too. 2w

This was a light read, very predictable, a little slow, but an ok book. Thanks to @StayCurious for all her memes. #LittensLoveRomance #BuddyRead. #ISpyBingoJulyAugust. Love it when a book gives me lots of spots. @TheAromaofBooks #Read2025 @DieAReader #SummerEndReadathon @Bookwormjillk

This was fun, light read. It took inspiration from the Cyrano story, which I enjoyed. I enjoyed the characters and I especially enjoyed reading about places I've been.
