pickI had to read this quickly for book club but it would have been better as a dip in and out of book. I was a bit put out to find when I googled the author after I'd finished reading that the author had actually been in Jakarta while I was reading it to do some talks and readings which finished the day before.
I‘m spending a few months at my sister‘s who has probably never read a book in her life, but recently bought this one. I found it on my nightstand as I moved into my designated room, so I‘ll guess I‘ll be reading a few pages each day before going to sleep lol
This really did strike a chord. Over the years I have realised that I need stories, words, pages as much as the air I breathe. They nurture my soul, feed my curiosity and calm my mind. Would be lost without them.

pickI‘ve been dipping in and out of this book (a series of essays, quotes, interspersed with lovely illustrations) the whole week, sharing some quotes that I loved..it‘s good if you take your time with the little nuggets of suggestions instead of reading it at one go. I didn‘t resonate with everything but basically it aims to make us reflect on our busy life, inspire us to be kinder and nicer to ourselves and interacting with others.

pickThis was a spontaneous library request, and it was just the thing I needed to start helping me get out of this "what do I do with my life" funk. I'll be saving my pennies to buy my own copy. Practical, straightforward, smart, and compassionate. Just loved it.
