#Naturalitsy #HyggeHourReadathon
Spending #HyggeHour starting this book & a peppermint crunch chocolate bar.🍫 It‘s not been a calm Christmas so far so hoping to find ideas in here.
I might finish the scratch off for my #OnceUponABookClub reading challenge so I can take a pic & send it in for a free book, but honestly, I‘m tired & have to get up ultra early to fly to Hilo so I might throw it in my overnight bag & do it at the hotel.🤷🏻♀️
My plans for #hyggehourreadthon tonight. I will probably start at 7 p.m. reading tagged book in my bed, while sipping a hot toddy & chewing on a ginger cookie. Not sure how much I will read… cozy visual from insta -Sweatpantsandcoffee.

“Christmas is not a single day; it is a season, and a manifestation of the spirit of generosity. It's a time for cherishing loved ones and using our skills and talents to create moments and memories. But it also takes place in the middle of winter, so we must be careful not to overextend ourselves.”
Completed the #MidWinterSolace buddy read. I enjoyed it a lot. It did get me thinking about stuff, especially as my mom has been recently diagnosed with cancer and I feel this will be our last semi-normal Christmas

“Simplicity, generosity, delight, and belonging are true touchstones of festive joy.”
“You know that feeling when you are snapped out of a stressful situation by laughter, a kind gesture, or an unexpected occurrence? That is when you open a door to joy.”

Calm Contemplation 2 - The Story of Magic
These questions are a wonderful pause to recognise your emotions, beliefs, and thoughts around Christmas.
⭐️ I loved magical stories as a child, still do.
⭐️ I'm in awe of magic but don't believe in it as such.
⭐️ Traditional stories & cultural influences
⭐️ No and no
⭐️ 10
#MidwinterSolace #LitSolace
I like the Calm Contemplation sections throughout this book.
⭐️ I have fond memories of Nativity plays when my children were younger.
⭐️ I am an atheist, so faith plays no part in my Christmas or indeed life. However, the Story of Faith, carols, candles, and choirs all make me feel very nostalgic and Christmassy.
Thanks for the #Two4Tuesday tag @TheSpineView ? Sorry I‘m late!
1. The last few years my favorite tradition is reading my #JólabókaflóðSwap book on Christmas Eve (while eating the chocolate) & then finishing it Christmas Day while listening to holiday music.???
2. The tagged book because work has been so crazy & stressful that I want to have a calm & restful holiday. ?
Anyone else not play yet & want to? Consider yourself tagged! ?
Realized I didn‘t have any Christmas themed bookmarks and wanted one to use with my holiday reads. And this book has exercises I wanted to do in a dedicated notebook, so a Christmas journal seemed necessary lol. Early Christmas gifts to myself I guess ☺️

Just on the premise of this authors note, I feel better already. 😌
Have you started it yet? 🕯📖☕️

Sounds perfect! Yesterday I read the first chapter on the 5 stories of Christmas. Still thinking about which one resonates the most with me and where I am now in life.

It‘s the first day of our 3rd annual #midwintersolace

This event started at last year's #MidwinterSolace thought up by the wonderful @Chrissyreadit (Thank you so much x). It was so popular we decided to keep it going all year. It's a perfect way to reset before the start of another week.
Happy 1st December. Welcome to our 3rd #MidwinterSolace event. 💙❄️💙
Who's ready for 2 months of Hygge, mindfulness, good company, games, and of course, books to get us through the long winter nights? I know I am.
All are welcome to join us. The more the merrier. 💙❄️💙

My December TBR for #WinterGames2024 - hopefully I can get more in but December is usually pretty busy for me and I‘m throwing in a vacation a week before Christmas 😂
#XmasChaCha @StayCurious
I usually get into the holiday spirit after Thanksgiving, but a few days early won‘t hurt. After this new one that I discovered here on Litsy, I‘ll also start with my annual holiday rereads 😊
#BookMail for #MidWinterSolace arrived☺️
Looking forward to these. My husband and I are decorating and celebrating for the winter holiday season for the first time together. We‘ve been together for several years, but we‘ve always ignored most holidays. Winter zen sounds so good right now❄️☃️

I think this is probably a good read if you're overwhelmed each year by Christmas, but since the Hubs and I don't have kids and usually spend Christmas on our own or with friends, a lot of advice didn't serve me. But it did really make me think about gift giving and how I want to tackle future Christmases.

Loving all the Christmas books.
A lovely relaxing and calming read that‘s perfect for this time of year

Hygge is very much a mindset rather than a lifestyle. It's all about comfort, not just physical but also emotional and psychological comfort. Focus on what brings you comfort in life, the people you spend time with, fave activities, food & drink.
Most importantly, do what you gotta do to take care of yourself. Own your mood and embrace it for what it is x

My last lists for 2022. 😍❄️🥂🎄 I've drawn up 3, as I'm planning on lots of mood reading for the #midwintersolace and #winterreadathon events.
List 1 - Anthologies for all those busy days
List 2 - Fiction to bring warmth, comfort and joy
* List 3 - Non-fiction to keep the brain ticking over and curiosity
I've included all remaining challenge books to round up 2022

A delightful book filled with musings, suggestions, love and light for the holiday season. I picked up a few great ideas to make the season less harried and more meaningful. #wintergames #mistletoemaniacs @Clwojick @StayCurious
I enjoyed the parts that celebrated and romanticised Christmas and winter. Beth Kempton is great at describing simple things in beautiful ways.
I less liked the ‘self help‘ parts which came across quite privileged and ‘just be less stressed‘. As a person with chronic pain, being told that enjoying Christmas will be easier for me if I journal and do yoga every morning doesn‘t help a lot when my condition makes those specific things very painful.
🌲All this snow has me with Christmas on the brain. One of my favorite bookstagrammers has Calm Christmas in her pile of TBR. Once I read the premise, loving the idea of daily readings from late November thru January, I immediately bought a copy. Who doesn‘t love the notion of a calm Christmas or calm season in life for those that celebrate differently or not at all?
Anyone else reading this during the holiday season?
