This book helped me realize how narrow my definition of slavery in America was— a compelling read that showcases the vast differences in the slave experience among various states.

Took me quite a while to get into, but once I was, I was hooked! I recommend reading this one in as few sittings as possible. 🤓
When it's late and you have work tomorrow but you also have no self control... Loved this book!
I...I have no idea what I just read. 😳
That was the trippiest book I've ever read.
New Valentine's Day tradition: go to the local bookstore together and buy each other books. ❤️
My first Bhutanese novel! Enjoyed reading this while in Bhutan and learning about the country and female roles through the eyes of Tsomo.
10 minutes left of 2016 and 10 pages left. Perfect!
Happy New Year! 🎉
Taking a quick break during the holiday season for some winter reading. 🤓🌲❄️
Skip the movie and read the book! A raw, real look at what life looks like during death and the search to find a new normal.
I found a new favorite reading spot! (Disney Grand California hotel lobby- fireplace + rocking chairs!) 🤓
I enjoyed this book more as I got further into it. I could've lived without all the references to her lover and her frequent digs at Christianity... But this is her memoir and she can do as she pleases. Overall, an interesting look into a slice of North Korea that no one gets to see.
I remember reading the epilogue of Book 7 and thinking, "What the?! Is this fan fiction?"... I felt the same about Cursed Child, although I did enjoy the last third(ish) of the play. Even so, would love to see it in London! ??I'm curious how they're pulling off all the magical special effects... ⚡️
Overall: No regrets reading it, but probably will stick to the books. ?
This book was a perfect treat for book lovers. ❤️
What a read! Flew through this book, totally enraptured by the stories of her wild childhood. Definitely recommend.
Happy place: reading by an open window, breeze coming through, afternoon lighting.
A bit of a dark read and I thought it dragged on much too long, but the last 30 pages or so added value.
