It was quite enjoyable to read this book again for my book club.
Very well written, it's a Christmas classic, the discussion we had was very interesting ;)
Loved the illustrations by Arthur Rackham.

As we come to the close of another year, never forget the true meaning of the holiday season: the uber wealthy getting scared into becoming compassionate & empathetic human beings.

Listening to 5 productions of this was an absolute delight. Curry brings the spookiness, Stewart a gravitas, Grant reminds me of listening to my grandfather read me stories, Dale is always a joy to listen to, & Burton is everything my reading 🌈heart needs. 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌗

It is astonishing to me that I never have read A Christmas Carol. It is an excellent story and Tim Curry‘s narration is marvelous!

Giving this one a shot as a Christmas read.

I read A Christmas Carol every year. This particular edition has the original illustrations; unfortunately, they are difficult to see in this ebook edition which isn‘t formatted that great. I also finished The Wishing Bridge and listened to Letters From Father Christmas, which is better as either a print book or an ebook because of the illustrations. I hope everyone has had a wonderful holiday. Starting Death and Papa Noel.

Merry Christmas friends! This year I listened to this audio version of A Christmas Carol. I enjoyed it because I do love this story, but this won‘t become a favorite version. It sounds a bit odd to say, but I think I find Hugh Grant‘s voice too pleasant for most of this story. I like it better with a deeper or gruffer voice.

1. Ugh—this is hard! It‘s a tie between A Christmas Story and A Christmas Carol (George C. Scott version!).
2. All I want for Christmas is a good time for a party with friends in the city.

Straight up, these three are my favorite versions of A Christmas Carol and I've consumed them all in the last 24 hours. Tim Curry's narration is unbeatable but Hugh Grant has his moments. And for pure, sweet nostalgia (with a dash of childhood terror, because my GOD, I should not have watched a cartoon character descend into a fiery grave at the age of 4!), I'm going for Mickey every time. Do you have a favorite Christmas Carol, fellow Littens?

Confession: I am not a fan of Dickens. Please don‘t hate me! But, he is just not for me.

However, after @MallenNC posted her read of A Christmas Carol with Hugh Grant as the narrator, I had to try it. I liked it! Grant does well reading the story. It was a nice listen while baking cookies.

Watching my favorite version of A Christmas Carol and baking orange drop cookies. 😋 George C. Scott is a very convincing Scrooge!

I really enjoyed Hugh Grant‘s narration of this Christmas classic. I listened to it for the first time last year and decided to do it again this year. I try to read or watch A Christmas Carol in some form every year.

2. All I want for Christmas is the Christmas gift of a man with the best taste in music. (I could get behind this gift. I do really enjoy my movie/tv score music!)

3. The tagged book- A Christmas Carol. Fond memories of reading it in class, while eating a candy cane.

We all know the story, it's been adapted for films and TV goodness knows how many times. Scrooge's name has become part of the language. And yet, even after having read it three or four times, I still found the story of Scrooge's reformation moving.

Got our first #teamread for #GhostsofXmas read. I‘d read it in high school so it‘s been a good 15 years or so. It was nice to revisit a classic, especially given how many versions there are of this story in movie form now. Is it my favorite? No, but it is a classic you have to appreciate and who doesn‘t love a bit of a redemption story.

This is one of my favorite rereads every year! I‘m currently teaching my 7th grade students the play version of this so we can watch Patrick Stewart‘s movie version!

Finished my yearly reread of the Christmas Carol. Unfortunately, I can no longer find the Jim Dale version. This is a quick read to get you quickly into the holiday mood.
