#Read2025 #SeriesLove2025 This anthology is only sort of the second book in a series. Blackout takes place in New York City during a blackout. I lived in New York long enough to know how scary that could possibly be even though I never actually experienced one. Whiteout is written by the same six authors and takes place during a blizzard in Atlanta. As a native West Virginian, I always find reactions of Southerners to a few snowflakes to (cont)⬇️

CatLass007 be pretty hilarious. To someone from West Virginia, 6 inches of snow is not really very much. In Atlanta, the city shuts down. Actually, where I live in East Tennessee pretty much shuts down also. It‘s interesting to see how certain people react in a crisis in both anthologies. And of course, all of these are love stories. 1w
RamsFan1963 @Catlass I grew up in the rural part of Virginia, near the border with Tennessee, and I remember big snows, closing school for weeks at a time, which always sucked because it ate up your summer vacation to make up the days. I live in WV now, and it's currently snowing. I once lived in Virginia Beach, VA and I laughed at how hysterical people got over 2 or 3 inches of snow lol. Like it was a Snowmageddon or something. 🤣🤣🤣 1w
CatLass007 @RamsFan1963 I believe we discussed our travels in the Appalachian region before. I know in my hometown of Beckley, WV we rarely had snow days growing up. It‘s my understanding that they‘re now a lot more cautious about sending kids to school when there is heavy snow. When I was a student at Clemson, I don‘t think there was an inch of snow on the ground, but they closed down the University and the town. The further north a city is (cont)⬇️ (edited) 1w

Christmas vibes weren't really captured here, yet the storyline was good and the characters were likable.

This is about second chances, about escaping living under the influence of a toxic friendship, about not being a people pleaser to those who refuse to value you, and about self discovery.

This was really good, although the the most spicy of Christmas books I have read, which was unexpected 🌶️👀😂.

AnnCrystal P.S. There was a nice sprinkle of Christmas scenes in this one, I just didn't feel the Christmas vibes throughout. (edited) 1w

Last post! The top two I got today at the airport, WH Smith always has irresistible deals. I‘ve started the tagged book today and am really enjoying it so far, it reminds me of Fredrik Backman actually. The other two I bought yesterday at #Foyles, a gigantic store in Central #London.
