This was definitely not as good as Austenland, but good enough to listen to while I was working on a puzzle.

“Jane Austen had created six heroines, each quite different, and that gave Charlotte courage. There wasn't just one kind of woman to be.”
“At least one memory remained vivid: once or twice each night, James would turn over in his sleep, his back to her, and play a long note on the buttocks bassoon.”
What?? 😳😂🤣😳😂🤣

@sprainedbrain @Chrissyreadit
I have read our postal book and will send it off to @Books4Ever in Canada this week.
Gorgeous book to read, I didn't want it to end. How can we encourage Shannon Hale to write another??
#Pemberlittens @Chrissyreadit @sprainedbrain
Look what just landed in the wonderful world of Oz!
So excited to receive it, can't wait to read it!
Love the journal too 😘
Things would prove rough for our heroine. Her only hope was Jane Austen.
The good news is it‘s in the mail to @JeffyRoo
BUT, there is no way of knowing how long it will take- so my fingers are quadruple crossed. #pemberlittens
Just as charming as the first one. Total comfort read. I love a mashup of Jane Austin (Shades of Northanger Abbey) and the amazing Shannon Hale. Also looking forward to this book reaching Littens around the world. #pemberlittens
This was a super sweet read. I enjoyed it a great deal. Charlotte was a character I think we can all relate to at some point in our lives. If you love Jane Austen you‘re going to enjoy this Austen-esq story #pemberlittens
#PemberLittens who signed up for the Midnight in Austenland postal book tour extravaganza, please check your email! We have a mailing order, and will be getting this party started next week. If you‘re no longer interested, please let me know. Also let me know if you DID sign up and I missed sending you the email. 🤪
Ladies who signed up for pen pals, I‘m working on that project next and you will be hearing from me this week.
❤️
This was funny at times although not as charming as the first one. It was nice to revisit some of my fave side characters from Austenland. I didn‘t enjoy the mystery quite as much, but the ending was pleasant and she wrapped it up nicely. #PemberLittens
⭐️ ⭐️ 1/2 out of 5,
Yeah, it‘s ridiculous and completely implausible, but I enjoyed it all the same.
It also set me googling to see if there is a real Austenland. Friends, there is... https://www.onehundredmain.com/events/jane-austen-weekends/

Sharing this again for any #PemberLittens that didn't see it last night @sprainedbrain

@Chrissyreadit had a great idea... anyone up for mailing a copy of Midnight in Austenland around the group? Those that want to can read it, add comments to a journal, and send it on to the next person.
I thought this would also be a good time to collect addresses for those within the group who want to have pen pals or otherwise mail stuff to other #PemberLittens.
Totally optional, but if you‘re interested:

Back to Austenland with a new vacationing Austen fan, only this time with serious shades of Northanger Abbey: gothic, ghostly vibes and a possibly real murder mystery of Catherine Morland proportions.
Yes, it‘s pure fluff and brain candy.
Yes, I enjoyed the hell out if it.
Also, as soon as someone turns an old English manor into a JA-themed immersive getaway, I‘m there!
⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2
Recommended for #PemberLittens and anyone who likes romcoms.
This sequel was pure fun in a page-turner mix of contemporary romance and mystery. #owls for Muggle Studies #magicalreadathon2020
I went to the Utah Library Association Conference today, and Shannon Hale was the lunch speaker. I love her. I wish I had had time to stay in her line, but at least I got to hear her talk and show pictures that she posed for with Ricky Whittle on the set of Austenland. He‘s purty, and the pictures were hilarious. Plus, she talked about graphic novels, which are totally my jam. #ula2019
I tagged my personal favorite of her books.
I have picked the tagged book for this prompt on #popsugarchallenge as the main character who isn't a detective has to turn into a amateur detective to solve a murder mystery
I have picked the tagged book for this prompt for my #52booksin52weeks challenge as it was picked out for me by @robinb for #newyearwhodis
@Schnoebs
Good. Even though this is the second book in the series it doesn't follow on as it is a stand alone story. I enjoyed the murder mystery within the story as it made me want to read on to find out how it ended. Recommend to Jane Austen fans.
Thank @robinb for recommending this as part of my #newyearwhodis set up by @monalyisha which was a great idea. 📚📖

Definitely has an odd vibe compared to Austenland but still fun to visit again even if a bit weird and unrealistic. Humor and mystery made it a fun read for me overall!
Not nearly as good as the first. It felt a bit drawn out and more like Insta love. Still fairly enjoyable. The best part was Ms. Elizabeth Charming getting her version of an HeA.

Found these on the $1 shelf at my Friends of the Library bookstore. Ex-library books can be sketchy sometimes, but these are in good shape.
The tagged book is for my sister because she loved Austenland, and Carve the Mark is for me because I have self-control issues with buying lost, wayward copies of books I like. #bookhoarder
Got the duology plus DVD for a great deal on thriftbooks. #riotgrams
I loved this book...even more than the first one! ❤️ It isn‘t a sequel (new H/h), but it takes place in the same locale with some of the same secondary characters included. It revolves around a divorced woman looking for a light-hearted adventure to get her mojo back. While similar to the first, this one is a little Gothic (think Northanger Abbey) and also involves a mystery to solve. Funny, sweet, with twists and turns. Happy I found it! 😊 5⭐️
Just realized that I had purchased this ebook way back in 2012 (probably on sale at the time) and had forgotten about it. Since this is second in the series (and I just finished the first), it‘s the perfect time to read it! 😊 This takes place in the same locale, just a new hero/heroine.
#FeedingMyAustenHabit 🤣🤷🏻♀️
@eanderson Have you read this one?
It‘s fluff and it‘s silly, and I laughed a lot and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I love that the main character is a middle-aged divorced mom, I love the murder twist, and it was just fun and clever and exactly what I needed.
#Readathon wrap up: I read the books on the right completely, and the ones on the left are still in progress. 7 hours, 30 minutes (including 1hr 45min audio) - usually I hit 10-12 hrs. Oh well, there‘s no such thing as failing the Readathon! Page count was 852, thanks to a couple of graphic novels. Special thanks to my trusty RAT buddy @LauraBrook . We‘ve never met, but have been doing Dewey‘s Readathon together since April, 2011! 😘📚
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was the perfect fall read! Murder mystery meets Northanger Abbey meets Mansfield Park! Definitely some unexpected twists mixed with some very predictable ones 😉 And Shannon Hale's writing is witty and sweet.
Things I should be doing:
-clean bathrooms 🚽
-empty dishwasher
-get groceries
-exercise
Things I'm going to do:
-read
-go to library book sale ($5 per bag!!!!)
Happy Monday, Littens ❤️📚

I picked up Austenland while in vacation this summer, and am going to indulge in the sequel. I'm not expecting much except a good escape. #guiltypleasure
Shannon Hale's dedications crack me up! Imaginary bonus point if you can name the British actor to whom she is referring. #stackedup
I should be prepping for PD next week, but first I am going to read something light and fun.
HAPPY JANE AUSTEN DAY! #FaveJaneAustenAdaptation #SeasonsReadings2016 I think these are the only adaptations I've read. I enjoyed them both. Had a superb girls night when I got a friend to see Austenland in the theater with me! Midnight in Austenland will make more sense if you have read Northanger Abbey.
Wow, I'm incredibly disappointed. The first book was so fun and this one was such a dud. I was wondering what was taking me so long to finish such a short book.
