Setting is lovely, on Folly Beach,an island of the coast of Charleston,SC. Other than that,it was a rather boring story. The colloquial language in the dialogue with the local surfers is totally cringe worthy. The surfers sound rather dumb like Beavis & Butt-Head from an early 1990s sitcom.

This is my husband‘s FB post about our Poe who left us Wednesday, Dec. 3. I added the Poe pictures. The last one is Emmy in the bedroom radiator. She is beside herself: smells places he slept, wails in every room of the house, is restless & oh so clingy. I wish I could tell her what happened. We can only give her the love & cuddles she needs but we are not Poe. They are birth brother & sister; have never been parted. 💔

kspenmoll @Sparklemn Do not be embarrassed!!!! I have an English major husband & brother who always read this magazine. To be honest, I usually pick & choose what I want to read. It should be counted as a book! Libraries often carry it; or flip through one at Barnes & Noble & check it out that way. It‘s renowned for cover art. (edited) 3d

My son & I picked it up today, & fell into the rabbit wholeheartedly into the rabbit hole of contemporary composer Eric Whitacre. We listened to his rendition of Lux Aurumque,or Light and Gold, based on a poem by the poet Edward Esce.Whitacre said of this poem: [whose] “genuine, elegant simplicity…[means] “A simple approach was essential to the success of the work, and I waited patiently for the tight harmonies to shimmer and glow.”His chorus shines.

monalyisha Whenever I see Patricia Highsmith‘s name, I always think of the snail smuggling story. 1w
monalyisha From Book Riot: “She was, after all, a genius, a bona fide eccentric. She loved animals, particularly snails, which she kept by the hundred as pets and took to parties clinging to a leaf of lettuce in her handbag. Writer and critic Terry Castle describes how she once “smuggled her cherished pet snails through French customs by hiding six or eight of them under each bosom”. 1w

A day home.Snow/freezing rain expected.I was surprised! I have to laugh when I think of all of you in states with heavy snowfall, because today we expect 3-4 inches.Snow supposed to start falling at 10:00. We have no walkers in our district due to lack of sidewalks. Thus, it becomes a busing issue & at times the bus company‘s call. No complaints here; I woke at the same time I always do.It‘s been quiet, contemplative.☕️📚🙏🏻

Bookwormjillk I love your mug! Enjoy the day.

We were hoping for a 2 hour delay here, but all we got was rain. But it's ok- first day after Thanksgiving break I think they were secretly happy to go back.

kspenmoll @Bookwormjillk I plan to enjoy this gift of a day! 1w
Amiable I‘m working from home today. It‘s not heavy snow that bothers me —as a native New Englander, I can drive in that. It‘s the icy rain/sleet mix that keeps my butt in the house. Nope. Not going to get on I-95 if there‘s a chance of slick roads. People already drive like idiots on that highway in good weather. 😖 1w

#MondayMood
A joyful mood.
~Came back to work completely “rested”.
~ Starting literature circles with grade 9; such fun “book shopping” today.
~Did not pay attention to the news with the exception of student chatter: “Bet we”ll have tomorrow off!” “Snow and rain predicted”. “School will be cancelled.” “maybe not.” “What do you think?” Etc. all day
~ #ChristmasCrime Challenge - reading holiday books!
~ Book mail today!

Deblovestoread Lovely, joyful day! Hope you get a stay at home snow day ❄️🩵⬇️ 1w

During early Puritan America until the end of the 18th century, “ bundling”, a custom in which couples were “ bundled” separately in cloths & permitted to spend nights together in bed, parental approval was common. It was thought that this practice would create lasting relationships & ultimately marriage.
I am having so@much fun learning about the sexual mores & practices in 17th, 18th & 19th centuries. #NFNovember #TodayILearned #NFN

We do not care that this was supposed to be a relaxing day off from work for me, but I ended up going to the grocery store four times for various forgotten but necessary Thanksgiving items.

I do care that it was 60 degrees so grocery runs were in a shirt- no outer garment! I do care that my husband rewarded me by ordering out for dinner. ❤️
