My weekend remains with me: Sunday began watching Ken Burn‘s The American Revolution as family; Poe kept me up last night into the wee morning hours snugging me with his head -beyond worth the lack of sleep- Saturday I visited my local Indie store to pick my October pre-ordered books& then some…Tonight more Ken Burns. My mood is happy & engaged for the most part- sadness mixes in with thoughts of losing Poe…work today was wonderful.

I have no words that can adequately review this memoir. A mother who lost her only two sons to suicide…beyond unimaginable. So I quoted some of her own words. It‘s the best I can muster. Highly recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Day 10- my husband has been cooking a bounty of meals from his Burmese cookbook. He visited there in 1980s & could not have any evidence on him that stated or inferred he was a journalist or he would have been arrested.

Multitasking: watching UConn v. Duke football game- close, 20 v. 14. Finished tagged book.A fun light read. Enjoyed how T & T took on the persona of various detectives.The last story they are Poirot & Hastings- a segway into Poirot tales I am thinking?The “twins” chapter was another one I enjoyed.

We do not care that I clashed with my new Pupil Services Director,who in an email suggested I was not supporting a student‘s IEP when I stated that I would not pull him out today due to behaviors that impacted six other learners‘ ability to focus.I pointed out the student has the English teacher, & a Para available to him.In addition,I work with him daily in the Resource Room every day, so in reality, he is over-serviced.Feel insulted.

Poe had an echocardiogram today so was at the vet‘s all day. We are awaiting results. The Vet again had to drain lots more fluid from his chest which is not a good sign. We are so happy he is home with us for now. Enjoying the “now” (Yiyun Li) with him.
