Here are my February #BookSpin and #DoubleSpin picks. It's been a while since I read a non-fiction book so I'm going with What An Owl Knows for brown on the cover. Definitely had to look through some book covers to find one with brown on it - funny enough both from last month had brown. I am reading Indian Horse for OhCanada anyways and it has green on the cover.

pickI wasn't sure this one could be cuter than the first book but I was proven wrong!
I loved that it had a similar theme to the first book, in regards to discovery of self worth and friendship. A great read and the images are just as beautiful, detailed, and rich in color. Easy to read and follow along for young readers, or any age readers since I'm definitely older than the demographic for this one 😂

A great story of our little owl with a big dream and with the support of his parents and his own ambition makes it happen.
Not a lot of text, but lots of illustrations that helped the story along and for me that makes it a great picture book to share with kids.
December 1st is here, hoping for festive magic and cheer ✨️
I think that this book would be a great use in this classroom and it could be a good lesson about chasing your dreams and being kind as well as being brave..
pickThis was exactly what the doctor ordered after Tuesday‘s results. I was totally charmed by Alfie, the lucky little screech owl who found herself wounded in nature writer Carl Safina‘s yard. Safina narrates Alfie‘s adventures, informs about owl behavior, but also ties in philosophy and human connection to nature (spoiler: we ARE nature). A lovely reprieve from the nastiness of this political reality. I recommend the audiobook!

For the first time in a long time I had a good reading month! I whipped through Megan O‘Brien‘s Talon Security and Ride Series 2nd Generation- I couldn‘t get enough. But I think my favourite read of the month was The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches that I read with #LittensLoveRomance - Hoping to keep up the reading momentum this month.
