Hi Littens! I need some help, please. I‘ve been trying to get my 8 y/o niece to read some of my fave books from when I was her age. She is very reluctant to step up to chapter books. I‘ve tried every genre, classics, new titles, even graphic novels. She just still loves her picture books. So, I‘m looking for recommendations for picture books, that have a little more to them and could be a good stepping stone to get her to chapter books.

It‘s been a rough year, with so much time on my hands and by myself due to chronic illness/pain. The one thing I have to show for it is that for the first time ever, I have read 100 books in a year. I am so grateful to these stories for being there when I needed to escape more than ever. Oh how I love reading!

All of the nonfiction that I've read this month appears to have put me in a little bit of a slump. I'm picking up my favorite book of all time to hopefully turn things around. 🤞

This should be required reading for all humans. Definitely 5 ⭐️

I just found out that Lonesome Dove is the third book in a five book series. Can it be read as a stand alone or must I read the other books??

This book has been on my radar for many months. I have saved it to read until this weekend when we will go on our annual trip to the mountains in Virginia. This is the cabin where we will be staying. I can't wait to read this book in what I'm hoping will be the perfect setting.

I splurged and stocked up on horror novels to read all month. First up is my first time ever reading Rosemary's Baby. Bring on the creepies!!

Small book haul from a short shopping trip to Books A Million and Costco in the ridiculous heat. I think tolerating the inferno was a good trade for several new books!

This is a reread after watching a few episodes of the new show on Starz based on this novel. I really enjoy the show and have a new appreciation for the book because of it.

My favorite book of the year so far. Beautiful writing and characters, thought provoking, compelling and intensely relevant. 5⭐️.

@Emiller I don't have any pets of my own, but this sweetie is named Chip, he is my brother's and I love him like my own and always look forward to him coming to stay when my brother is away. He is a great cuddler and a perfect reading companion! I hope the pictures cheered you up a bit today. I can't imagine going through what you are and am so sorry for your loss. I was in New Orleans for the first time this past November. I absolutely fell in love with the city, the culture and all of the lore surrounding it. I just started this one and can't wait to learn more about what is considered to be one of the most haunted cities in the US.

I was hoping for a thrilling thriller, what I got from the first part (80 pages) was a boring bore. On to the next!!

Words can not describe how much I love this book and it's ultra complex titular character. This book broke my heart and made it sing at the same time. 5⭐️

I have heard so many great things about this book, including that it is a very heartrending story, which is right up my alley!! I can't wait to dive in!
