Fatal Vision
Fatal Vision | Joe McGinniss
7 posts | 27 read | 15 to read
Fatal Vision is the electrifying true story of Dr. Jeffrey MacDonald, the handsome, Princeton-educated physician convicted of savagely slaying his young pregnant wife and two small children, murders he vehemently denies committing. Bestselling author Joe McGinniss chronicles every aspect of this horrifying and intricate crime, and probes the life and psyche of the magnetic, all-American Jeffrey MacDonald, a golden boy who seemed destined to have it all. The result is a penetration to the heart of darkness that enshrouded one of the most complex criminal cases ever to capture the attention of the American public. It is a haunting, stunningly suspenseful work that no reader will be able to forget.

I actually read this book in 1984 when it was first published. It is a fascinating true story and I enjoyed the book very much. There was a recent article in People magazine and Jeffery MacDonald may get a new trial because of DNA findings and other people's confessions.

Lcsmcat I read that article too. I‘m interested in seeing what happens. 4y
EadieB @Lcsmcat Recent info from 3 days ago: Smerling is the director of the documentary series “A Wilderness of Error,” which examines the MacDonald case. The five-part series, produced by Blumhouse Television, debuts Sept. 25 on FX. An accompanying podcast, “Morally Indefensible,” examines "Fatal Vision," a book and TV movie about the case. 4y

This story is back in the news after 46 years. He is still denying he did it and his attorneys say they have new evidence. http://www.wral.com/macdonald-hearing-likely-last-chance-for-exoneration-set-for.... This book really creeped me out.

Pickpick

Very gripping true story of a horrible multiple murder and the years of investigation and trial that followed it. While MacDonald is likely guilty, there's good reason to think he didn't get a fair trial.
