This was a cute, lighthearted, feel-good book about how two monsters fell in love.

I gave the audiobook another shot and I still couldn't finish it. Checked out the physical book from the library. I am determined to finish.

This audiobook was very well done, perfect casting. It is told from three different perspectives. Cameron, a young man looking for his father, Tova, an elderly lady who works at the Sowell Bay Aquarium and Marcelus, an octopus at the aquarium. It was a little slow but overall very good book. 4.5/5 stars

Other Mistress | Shanora Williams

The overall premise of this book was good but the delivery was lacking. The main character, Adira, is a successful young woman with a man who is cheating on her with two women, one of which he recently broke up with. She ends up working with this woman to get him away from the remaining mistress. Adira, despite all her success, comes across as needy and just weak. The only saving grace of this book was the twist at the end.

I'm listening to this on audiobook read by Lucy Liu. And while the story is really intriguing, I am struggling to finish it. I'm not sure why but something about the cadence in her performance is a bit off putting. I have taken a break and will come back to it later.

I follow the author, (Jason Pinter) on Tik Tok and he is hilarious. I hope this book lives up to the hype I have built up in my mind.

I won this ARC in a giveaway and I have never read this author before, so I'm not sure what to expect.

This book was difficult to read because of the subject matter. Although the ending was predictable, the way Berry tells the story is so hard to resist. Her books always seem to have a slower pace, they still keep me wanting more.

Aaron returned to his hometown after his childhood friend and family are brutally murdered. A very good thriller, I really wasn't sure until the end who did it. The narrator for this audiobook was really good.

This was such a good book, so many twists and turns, it was hard to know who the bad guys were.

I know I am in the minority here, but I did not care for this book. The overall concept had so much promise but the execution was really lacking. This story seemed to drag on forever. Just when you think they should be wrapping it up, it goes on and on again. The main characters were just annoying and mean. The only person I really liked was Barb, she was a hoot.

Michael_Gee Agree the main characters are challenging. I had to take a break from the book because it was so hard to read their sibling dynamic. (Made me very grateful for my brother and sister.) (edited) 2y

As always, Lorelei King did an amazing job of narrating. She does the best Lula! This Stephanie Plum was much like all the others. Drama between Stephanie, Joe and Ranger-love it! These books are so much fun and easy to read or listen to.

I did not love this book. I listened to the audiobook, maybe it was the narration, I found the main character to be annoying and whiney. The end of the book was also a big dissapointment. Just meh.

I loved this book! I am a big fan of the Poppy Wars Trilogy, but this book topped that. It did get a little wordy at times, but it was so detailed it was worth it! Five stars

I started the month with three horrible books, so I went with the tried and true Stephanie Plum. I always love the audiobook version. Lorelei King does a great job.

I know this didn‘t get very good reviews but I really enjoyed it. Some of the content was disturbing and the characters were people you love to hate. The twist at the end was good- didn‘t see it coming.

I‘m really on the fence with this one. It reminds me of gone girl-it was pretty interesting until she reappears. Then it goes beyond ridiculous.

The concept had a lot of potential. However, it failed. The only@bright spot is the audio narration was great. The story is a big nope.

This book was very reminiscent of John Steinbeck. After his father dies, Emmett is released from prison early to care for his young brother When two of his former bunk mates show up, his plans are changed.

This was a quick paced, fast reading thriller. A boy with autism is accused of killing a woman. Seems pretty cut and dried, but there may not be that simple.

Could someone tell me how this horrible book ends? I‘m at 68 percent of the audiobook and I just can‘t make myself finish it but I want to know how it ends. Choices have to be made.

ImperfectCJ I'm not sure where to start with telling the ending, but there's a pretty detailed summary here: https://matthiasregan.org/2021/06/02/weird-fiction-review-9-the-cabin-at-the-end... 3y

I had really high hopes for this book but it just didn't do it for me. How many things can go wrong?? It seemed to drag on forever. Rams got on my last nerve, way too much angst. The best story line was Josh and Luis, they actually added a little interest to the story, By the end I was hoping they would get bitten and just get it over with.

BookMaven9 I wanted them gone too. Most annoying characters ever! 2y
