I forgot to post this yesterday 🤪, but there‘s just no way I can pick one favorite book from last year! I picked this book as a standout because it was a total #blameitonlitsy read (I‘m not much of a fantasy kinda girl) and I ended up loving it. Going outside my comfort zone paid off in this case!

pickA fun, light, easy read. It took about a chapter to get into but then I rolled right along in the world. Very wholesome and kind. A wonderful choice from my kind benefactor of the #Christmas #holiday book exchange I did last year. Thank you!!

pickI don‘t know if there‘s a better thing to do at New Year‘s Eve than finish a good book. I saw this around for so long, now finally gave it a go and read it in three days. This is so random and yet so warm and comfortable. Also I am craving cinnamon buns now.
so-soA cozy fantasy which I guess I expected more from. It is good, just underwhelming for what I had in mind. Also, I have to point out how difficult it was for me to read it while also wanting to be gaming; all the cozy hobbies at once😹✨

This was a #blameitonlitsy read, as I kept seeing all the love it was getting, so I had to read it to see what all the buzz was about. I was not disappointed!

so-soThis was cute but I didn‘t love it that much. It was just okay for me. I know a lot of people loved this one, but I don‘t know if I would continue through the series. It was fun for one book but not sure if I want to go to the next one.

pickViv chose to retire from being a barbarian, & decided to pursue her dream of a coffee shop. W/ unwelcome figures from her past, a protection racket trying to extort her, & a succubus looking for a job, her retirement may not be as calm as she wanted.
This was charming! I loved all the descriptions of food (Thimble was my fave), the building of community, & the story of choosing to reinvent yourself. I did want more w/ the Madrigal. 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑

Seriously, though, what a great read! I had such a book hangover. Where is the full series?! Surprisingly poignant, this story moves beyond cozy to suggest a whole shifting of values & I‘m here for it.

pickThis was so far outside my comfort zone and, to be honest, I‘m so mad I haven‘t tried cozy high fantasy before. This was so fun! Amazing characters, good story, and definitely like nothing else I‘ve read before (which is refreshing!). It isn‘t necessarily a favorite genre now but it definitely will be something I pick up when I need a change of pace. And I‘ll definitely read the next book in the series! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
bailedI know this is an #UnpopularOpinion but, I really just can't get this one done. I have been working on it for a while now, I am about 65-70% done, but I just never want to pick it up to finish. It's probably just me.

pickThis is my first BS/DS doubleheader! This series received so much Litsy love that I‘d be amiss not to add it to my TBR. I finally prioritized these warm-hugs-in-book-form and read them back-to-back. They are both cute as a bug‘s ear, I liked both equally, and perfect when you yearn for a couple days of stress-free reading.
