I re-read this #childhoodfavourite via audiobook. While the Anne series was never unfeminist, Anne's House of Dreams is where Montgomery started to lean in a little on the social commentary about how women were misused by men.

I love Lukens' books. This is the latest, and we follow Ellery and Knox. Ellery is working at a diner and is dealing with a world that has spent the past five years in an endless winter, and Knox is the human familiar for one of the local witches. At least he is until she gets killed, and he ends up on the run. Which is when he runs into Ellery, who makes a deal with him to help end the winter 💙

I love these books. This is the second book in the Ruinous Love trilogy, and in this one, Lachlan botches a job and becomes the target of blame for some of the deaths in Lark's family. So, to help clear his name, Lark decides to marry him and help him hunt for the killer.
