Goliath by Tochi Onyebuchi is the winner for June. It is available for free to read, in the US, if you have a Kindle Unlimited subscription. Even my tiny local library had a physical copy and ebook format also. This book has a number of accolades so I am hoping it lives up to the hype. Enjoy!

Lukewarm about this book. I just didn't connect with the characters mainly because their actions didn't make sense. Josie, never told Liam he had a son. Girlfriend, there are such things as attorneys if you can't get him to talk to you. And then Liam, he walks out on the love of his life, his soul mate without a backwards glance. This plot just doesn't work. 2.5ish⭐️ Read this for #Littensloveromance @StayCurious

Only new thing is I picked up a cold while on vacation. Not the kind of souvenir I wanted to bring home. Started feeling bad over the weekend. Nothing major, just a cold, sick enough to complain but not enough to stay home in bed. A little sicker and I could have had a reading lie in. 🤪🙄😏

1️⃣ Back when I worked for myself I helped a local company with embezzlement. I did some forensic accounting and helped prove that an employee stole over 350K. They were able to recover all the money.
2️⃣ At my age, my balance is no work. However, I still work around 35 hours.

June is right around the corner. I hope everyone is ready to read, or reread, this series. The first book is Dark Lover. It is the story of Beth and Wrath, the king of the race and the only full bloodied vampire alive. The book is 393 pages and 45 chapters with an epilogue. Roughly 1.5 chapters a day or 11.5 a week. I am planning to do a summary/questions at the end of each week to start and see how that works. I am also thinking about giving..

This book wrecked me. I ugly cried through the last 10% of the story. The author makes you fall in the love with the characters then pulls the rug out from under you with the events that happen. I can't say much without totally spoiling it for you. Trust me when I say you need to read this. 4.5⭐️ I would give it a full five stars but it dragged a little bit in places. However I was too invested in the story by that time.

I got hooked on Carian Cole when I read the Ashes and Embers series. Tagged the first book. I have gone on to read her other books. I especially liked Don't Kiss the Bride.

This is book 3 of the Unexpected Arrivals series. It can be read as a stand alone but I recommend that you read the books in order because the characters in the previous books appear in this book also. Cute story but a bit unrealistic. A light read I enjoyed. 3.5⭐️

This is May's #ClassicLSFBC selection. I have tried for several weeks to get it read. I just couldn't do it. The writing style was not for me. Also, I thought the characters lacked likeability. Bailed at 22%. #HailTheBail

I made it home safe and sound late yesterday. Had a wonderful girls birthday vacation. While we were gone my grandson cut his hair off. It was a busy vacation and I did very little reading. I now need a vacation from my vacation. 😂

Over the next few days I plan to caught up with everything going on at Litsy.

Zapata is the queen of slow burn love stories and this book proves it. Loved the characters and the plot. The story developed organically and I thought the dialog really worked. 4.5⭐️

I loved The Fallen Men series by this author. This is another series about anti-heores and I liked it but not as much as the other series. The plot was good but I didn't get as deeply connected to these characters as I wanted to. 3.5⭐️

I normally love vampire stories. However, this one just didn't do it for me. Didn't like the characters and the plot was mediocre at best. I bailed at 32%. I feel that I made a good effort to finish. On to the next book! #HailTheBail
