Congratulations @REPollock !!! This is such a great thing to do!
#giveaway500 Hard passes for me are trashy romances (I like Historical romance or Romantic Suspense), political and most nonfiction (I do like History and don't mind Religion), and Sci-Fi.
On my way to a book appearance (interviewing Jane Harper, so excited!) and couldn't resist this finishing touch. Writer powers, activate!
Stolen from @BarbaraTheBibliophage. To quote from the Maestra: "Like, what? It's hard?" Honestly, the only one I had to think back for was "hackneyed". If you read in English at all, and have been on the planet for more than 25 years or so, you know those words. You've been exposed by then. No need for a PhD.

And the RANDOM WORD OF THE DAY is: CODSWALLOP.
Definition: NONSENSE.
This word is just fun to say. 😄 Do you have a quote from a book with this word? Use it in a sentence!
I was reading on the couch when I heard a loud snoring noise. I looked up and realized @Lucas.Rencher had been reading the dictionary to broaden his vocabulary, but I think it may have been a little boring. 😂😂 That's my husband! 💕

Talk amongst yourselves. I'll give you a topic: The Prince of Tides was about neither a prince nor Tides - discuss. #coffeetalk
I'm definitely torporific today 🙄
#litsywordoftheday
Wow! What a word for today. I can think of some nonbooks. Can you? 🤔
#litsywordoftheday
So this here, ah, word that has been selected from a book whose sole purpose is the definition and explanation of the meaning of words, here presents today's word as decided for the day.

What! shall we not collogue together, and warm the cockles of our ancient kindness?--shall we not collogue, I say?
-- Sir Walter Scott, Kenilworth, 1821
?
Y'all. I am so stupid. I had no idea. I've been thinking "lead" every time I heard it.
I may or may not be laughing evilly. Maybe it's an evil giggle. Regardless, I'm a little giddy. I bought a friend's daughter a dictionary for her birthday. She now regularly tells her mom that she's using a word wrong. A sassy pre-teen with an unconventional weapon and an inquisitive mind that's like a steel trap - look out world. We've got her aimed at college with world domination coming later. Maybe it is an evil laugh after all?!
Peek-a-boo!
My boo rearranged the living room and I'm really loving it. We may need to think of a more stable spot for my old gianormous dictionary.
So, that's what it's called! #wordoftheday
#funfridayphoto - books that are special to me - when my husband wanted me to marry him he did three things: 1) bought me a dictionary and a thesaurus 2) adopted two kittens 3) sat through a Springsteen concert. I've never told him but all he had to do was #1 ? our kid always asks, "WHY do you keep these when there's Google?!" Because they remind me that someone knew that to steal my heart, it'd take words (and kittens and Bruce ?)
So this book is so old it won't come up. Lunch time reading as I left my book at home and this is from my office stash. A lady in one of my fb book clubs was giving away old romances- can't wait to read this as I just love the look of the cover.
"Words are, of course, the most powerful drug used by mankind."
A good dictionary is my go-to high school graduation gift. Even in this Google era everyone should have a traditional dictionary in their shelf. The recipient of this one is a Harry Potter loving, proud Slytherin. ???
