Just for kicks I thought I‘d look at my #bookspin and #doublespin and one month‘s #triplespin since I won‘t get around to writing reviews for any I haven‘t yet. But I did get through most of them so big thanks for the inspiration @TheAromaofBooks . I didn‘t play along in January. Meet Me in Monaco was the doublespin for June and the bookspin for July and A Shot in the Dark was the doublespin for both August and September.

TheAromaofBooks @CoverToCoverGirl - I only did #TripleSpin one month (in April). In May we did #BookSpinBonanza where everyone tried to read all 20 of their books in the order they were drawn out (way too challenging haha). The in July I started #BookSpinBingo which seems to be the best way for some people to still only read one or two books from their list but let other people read more, so I've stuck with that!! I just started #BookSpin last January 😂 4y

I did not have high hopes for this. I wanted to read it more for the sake of reading and not because of interest but...wow! This is probably one of the best books I've read so far this year! So heartbreaking and so infuriating but so, so interesting to read.

Ghosts: An 87th Precinct Mystery | Ed McBain

#WeeklyForecast - I didn't post one last week because I wasn't home, and felt oddly adrift this week!! Currently reading a batch of 5 87th Precinct books, which I have been doing off and on for several months - 55 books in the series & I am in the 30s now haha This group has felt a little more ...over-the-top gritty, I guess. Haven't enjoyed them as much.

Anyway, planning to finish the tagged book & read Heat, then on to The Switch for #LMPBC. ⬇️

Would Like to Meet & I've Got Your Number are both fro the romcom buying binge I went through in June. Mystery Mountain is a MG book I've had since, oh, 2003 & have never read. 😂 Beauty Sleep is a random book from the TBR, & the Peretti books I've been meaning to reread for like a decade & have been on my “short“ list ⬇ 5y

I didn't end up participating in #JubilantJuly which was sad for me, as I usually love the longer readathons. Hopefully I'll be ready for August instead!!

TheAromaofBooks @rabbitprincess - I read Eighty Million Eyes a while back... I don't specifically remember that one being too gritty, but it may have been haha Eight Black Horses should be in my next batch, and it looks like it stars the Deaf Man, my favorite villain. Out of this batch, Calypso was just tooooo over-the-top for me - there was a lot of gratuitous sex, a bizarre reason for the crime, & a torture scene that went too far - I get squeamish!! 5y

My nr 4 #bookspinbonanza 😅 Lady Susan is funny and shows Austen's intelligence and sarcasm, I wished the Watsons had been longer - it was very Austeny and enjoyable. Sanditon I liked the least, probably because it ended just as I felt we were getting started.

Here is my list for July #bookspin 😁 For numbers 1-20 I‘ve included all the books by Black authors I own (excluding sequels) as well as books from my #bookspinbonanza and #15books15weeks lists that I haven‘t/didn‘t get to yet. The extra numbers 21-25 I‘ve pulled books that I‘ve had on previous #bookspin lists. One for each month. April and March are the #bookspin books I still need to finish 🙈 Can‘t wait for the next round! @TheAromaofBooks

TheAromaofBooks @thereadingunicorn - Yes!! You choose any 20 (or this month, 25 haha) books you've been meaning to read. Then when I pick the numbers, you try to read those numbered books from yours list. (So in June everyone was trying to read books 3 and 10.) Everyone is reading different books, but the same numbers, if that makes sense!! 5y

TheAromaofBooks @thereadingunicorn - After you make you list, tag me when you post so I add you to the list. On the 2nd I will draw 2 numbers which are the “official“ #BookSpin numbers. Then I am going to put them back in the jar & mix them in, then draw out all the numbers & as I draw them, I'll write them into the bingo card. Then everyone can read books that match those numbers to try & get a bingo. 5y

Just post a list of 20 or 25 books (if you do 20, you'll have 5 free spaces; 20 is the “normal“ #bookspin number) & tag me when you do. Then on the 2nd I'll post the bingo card with the numbers randomly scattered around on it, and you'll match the books on your list with their numbers (so if the top row is 3, 15, 12, 1, 7, you put those numbered books from your list into the card). 5y

Then on the 2nd I draw out two numbers & everyone tries to read those numbered books from their lists. Everyone still makes their lists, but I am going to draw ⬇ 5y

However, I do give people “credit“ (i.e. an entry for the end-of-the-year giveaway) even if they read a book in a different month from when it was picked - for instance, you can read your April BookSpin in August, and just let me know it's April's book when you review it & I'll still give you credit. 5y

TheAromaofBooks @ferskner - For this bingo, you just need your list of books numbered 1-25. I'm going to draw out all the numbers randomly & write them down as I draw them, so the bingo card will have the 25 numbers all shuffled together. You read the books from your list that match the numbers - so if the top row ends up being 17, 3, 9, 12, and 5, if you read those books from your list you get a bingo!! I'm going to pick the regular #BookSpin/#DoubleSpin ⬇ 5y

Hopefully it will make more sense when we actually do it... in the meantime, TL;DR - if you want to join, just make up a list of 20 or 25 books! 😂 5y

ferskner Okay that makes sense! Any time I see a book bingo I'm like "but wouldn't you just read the five books to get a bingo?" I expected there to be some element of randomness like in regular bingo, someone else "calling the numbers", as it were. I'm clearly overthinking it. :) 5y

TheAromaofBooks @ferskner - I think part of the confusion is that a lot of people post their BookSpin lists in a collage format, so it already kind of looks like a bingo board. But that's actually their list & those books are numbered 1-20 & thus will get shuffled around when I draw the “official“ numbers out on Thursday! 5y

Roomies | Christina Lauren

#BookReport - Didn't make any progress with #ReadYourSign or #BookSpin, but I did check off 4 1/2 more books for May's #BookSpinBonanza (this is what happens when you read entire series instead of just individual books!), finished both my #LMPBC reads, and two romcoms (I NEED FLUFF!), including the tagged book (not pictured) as well as Our Stop. So a busy week, and special thanks to @Andrew65's #JoysofJune Readathon which has really inspired me!!

So the Bonanza was only for the month of May, but what I did was draw all 20 numbers and anyone who wanted to tried to read all 20 books from their list in the order that they were drawn!! I failed at my own challenge (lol) so I'm still reading the rest of my list from May just for fun. I'll probably do another Bonanza challenge in the fall. 5y

I was super overwhelmed when I first joined, but then it turned out that basically everyone here is so friendly and happy to explain stuff, so never be worried about asking questions because this is definitely a more-the-merrier kind of group!!! 5y

Gissy Same here! No progress in my reading during this month. But I have enjoyed many activities outside and I even started to swim again at the beach😱which is something not easy for me. Still coping with my fears😳☺️ 5y

TheAromaofBooks @Gissy - I hope your swimming progress goes well!! I've never been a big fan of the water. My idea of swimming is to put my feet in and nothing else! 😂 This time of year is always busy with outside projects, so sometimes my reading gets put on the back burner!! 5y
