Ready for this Beauty & Beast retelling! It's been on my TBR for too long.

I‘ve tried to read this twice before and never got past the first few pages. But I love Megan Spooner and I love Beauty and the Beast retellings so I knew I just had to wait until I was in a different mood. The story is full of magic and self-discovery. It has that fairy tale feeling while still be raw and real with just a hint of darkness. I especially enjoyed reading Spooner‘s acknowledgments at the end. It added something special to the book.

Oopsy forgot to post this yesterday. My goal is to try for ten hours as not sure I'd make 20. I have finished one book and three hours read yesterday.

We thought too much.
Because while hatred is a fire only man feels, he does not hate the beast that comes in the night. Mankind fears it, fights it, drives it off, but he does not hate it. No one hates the bear, the wolf. They don't hate the wind or the snow. They don't hate the death.
They hate each other.

It was nice retelling. A little different than the original story. I love the story about the Beauty and the beast but that was really different. And that different was beautiful on this book

I really enjoyed this Beauty & the Beast retelling. It was creative without being ridiculous, if that makes sense. I liked the main character and didn't feel like she was obnoxiously "I hate being a girl" like so many of these retellings tend to be. I'll put a spoiler below for the one odd bit of the ending that didn't work for me.

This book was exactly what I was looking for: Magic, adventure and romance. I loved this Beauty and the Beast retelling for so many reasons. The magical forest and creatures within it, the way the plot unfolded, and the bravery and intelligence of Yeva. I also adored her sisters and how close they all were.

I‘m a big fan of retelling fairytales with a new twist. This version of Beauty and the Best did not let me down. I did wish there was more to the last part but then again that is my desire, wanting.

I finally sat down to finish this book and boy am I glad I did. I've been reading it off and on for months. It kept getting pushed aside for others. I ended up loving the book Hunted though. I definitely recommend it if you like fairytale retellings. I think this is the first one I've read of Beauty & The Beast. I enjoyed the story switching between perspectives so that you can see more of the mindset of Beast and how it changes through the story.

Read half of Love, Nina and am really enjoying it, but decided to take a break and read a much anticipated (by me after hearing about it on #heyya) Beauty and the Beast retelling.

This was a really good fairy tale retelling! There were amazing plot twists, the characters were awesome, and the story was beautifully told! If you like fairytale retellings, fantasy stories, and badass female heroines then this is the story for you.

I think the targeted YA audience may have had more patience for the pacing than I did. A generous 2/5 🏹s I will have it in the mail to you Kelli early next week.

I absolutely love fairy tale retellings and this retelling of Beauty and Beast didn't disappoint at all. I loved it. I loved seeing a different take on the story. Can't wait until her new book Sherwood comes out on Tuesday!

I have mixed feelings on it. I was really hooked in the beginning and didn‘t want to put it down and then all of a sudden I felt like the story just dragged on unnecessarily. This is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast.

It's been so long since a book has had me so enthralled A good book doesn't just need engaging writing it needs to make you feel what the characters feel grief, hope, excitement this book achieved that effortlessly.Yes it is a slow story but watching everything unravel and piece back together again never got boring or felt slow But this is definitely one you need to take your time with to appreciate the world and characters that have been created.

Finally about half way through Hunted by Meagan Spooner and it's getting more interesting. I need to know what happens!

I really appreciated this book for how originally meaningful it was. Hunted went well beyond the classic beauty and the beast tale and I really enjoyed the lightness of it. Even though there wasn't much romance, it stilled filled my heart and calmed my soul:)

This isn‘t your typical retelling of “Beauty and the Beast”. It has strong influences of Russian folklore, and emphasizes finding yourself, destiny, and magic. One of my favorite parts of the Beauty and the Beast trope is the romance, however I found that this novel had very little of it and left me wishing for more. Overall, this book was well written, but left me a bit unsatisfied.
