I‘m a huge consumer of BOTM but I‘m not sure what‘s going on there. Been so let down by reads I‘ve had lately, & it‘s across all genres. I‘ve been most disappointed by “thrillers” which have been meh at best. The miss factor/overhyping is especially bad for 1st time authors. I used to have a bunch of editors I could rely on who seem to have been replaced by folks w/a pr over an editorial background. Hope this month turns it around for me.😔😩

Megabooks Agree! I canceled my subscription a couple of months ago. I haven‘t enjoyed it since last summer. 3y

After skipping the #BOTM choices for three months in a row, and considering canceling my membership, I ended up grabbing THREE books this month, one of which was a choice last month. What can I say, I‘m a moody reader. 🤪
These all look really good to me today.

JamieArc I feel you on being a moody reader. I picked three last month and skipped this month (though I wouldn‘t have if Project Hail Mary were a main pick). I actually appreciate months I skip (and my bank account does too!) 4y

MaleficentBookDragon @Tera66 they have a few alternates you can choose from but you can‘t just choose an older book. I wish they would. At least these days if you skip they won‘t keep piling up the credits. That can get you in trouble. 4y

Now every month it seems like it‘s all debut authors (which I‘m not necessarily opposed to) and crappy thrillers. Their customer service skills are seriously lacking too. 6y

Samplergal I don‘t particularly like thrillers and certainly don‘t purchase them. I‘ve skipped a couple months rethinking my membership. I would do A Ladder to the Sky, but already have an ARC. ( which has not been read yet!) 6y

JamieArc I wonder if the people who‘ve been with BOTM for a while realize that you can do Month to month. Towards the end of the month, I get charged for one month. If I don‘t use that credit then I don‘t get charged the next time. I can skip as often as I like, which I often do. For me, there‘s no reason to cancel this way 🤷🏻‍♀️ 6y

LittlePixels This is my first year with them (I got a gift sub for Christmas last year). I've been happy with their customer service, but seriously disappointed with the quality of the books. The physical quality. Twice they've actually fallen apart or had pages not bound on arrival. Plus, they just feel like crappy quality overall. The selection has been hit-or-miss, imo. I've skipped several months, then gotten more than one other months. 🤷🏻‍♀️ 6y

Reviewsbylola Oh ok, well that‘s better!! I just used my last credit before my annual subscription ran out. I chose to cancel. My second account though was month to month. I had two credits and then I would accumulate one every month so it was like a mad dash to use up all my credits so I could cancel. If you cancel with any credits remaining, you forfeit those credits. Their CS was less than helpful about this. They told me to just use my remaining credits the 6y

Reviewsbylola Next month and cancel. Which like ok that would be fine except then I get charged for another credit the week before the selection. I pointed that out so they “graciously” agreed to skip a month on my billing so I could use my remaining credits without adding an additional one. I ended up forcing myself to choose two books that month just so I could use the credits and close the account. 6y

Reviewsbylola That‘s when I knew I would be canceling my main account when I could. What‘s sad is a year ago it wasn‘t even a struggle to use credits!! There were months I got all five selections between my multiple accounts. I‘m so over them though. /rant over. 😂😂😂 6y

Laughterhp I cancelled in April after 2 years and it was honestly the best decision I made! I wasn‘t reading the books and I wasn‘t liking the changes they were making. 6y

Between my branches here & having access to Houston's through overdrive, I can normally get my hands on the ones that I want relatively quickly. 6y

I skipped this month. The first time I‘ve ever skipped, but none of the books called to me. Not to worry, though - I kinda went crazy over the holiday weekend and ordered lots of books through Book Outlet, Book Depository and ThriftBooks! #BOTM

I signed up for Book of the Month last Tuesday. How long once you get a tracking number does it usually take to actually ship? It‘s said waiting on pick up since Wednesday.

Redwritinghood It takes a few days. Not sure how many but I know nothing happens for awhile after I get my tracking number. 7y
