Oh how I needed this book right now. Fast paced and interesting, perfect for fans of Big Little Lies (and for some reason my pictures aren‘t posting....)

I liked the concept in the end but it was so slow I didn‘t even care anymore by the time I got there.
I thought I had this one figured out but I was wrong, I like when I‘m wrong
Has anyone watched yet? I‘m going in
Things got a bit crazy and I had to keep reminding myself that this is supposed to be a satire, I kind of lost interest in the middle when I had no idea where the story was going but it was a solid ending so I‘m giving it a pick!
I‘m snuggled on the couch in my flannel pajamas like it‘s the middle of February over here!
This one took me a little while to get in to but once I did it was a great ride, twisty and interesting
I really hope this story is true because Agatha Christie is a badass! Also, we went away for the weekend and took the dog with us, we let her up in the bed for the first time ever and I fear I‘ve made a grave mistake, she loves it and will probably try to get in the bed at home now too!
Am I the only one who feels like most non-fiction books can really just be summed up in an hour long podcast?? I‘m about half way through and getting bored with this one, I just wanna know why they drank the kool-aid already!
It was cute and I can totally see it as a Hallmark movies “cozy mystery” (which I absolutely love), I just think I would have liked it more if the main character wasn‘t the main murder suspect. She was a little too casual and thinking about her love life too much for having just gotten arrested, if was her best friend or her aunt that she had to clear it would have made more sense
My husband caught me crying at the end. It was a little long in my opinion but the story was good. Now to go watch the Netflix series
This one was tough for me because I often wonder if I will ever be happy with the choices I make
Audio crafting! It was cute and that‘s about it. The BOTM reference hit a little too close to home!
Book of the Month calls this one a “suspense” and I would have to disagree, it was not a thriller at all either. It did take some time for the full story to come out and I‘m not sure the “twist” was necessary but an engrossing read overall looking at the downward spiral of the family and how the kids come out of it. I think if you liked “Room” you‘ll like this one
Has anyone read this book? Who is Daniel? He‘s mentioned on page 9, but I‘m now on page 68 and have not seen this name again yet. Do we ever find out? Does this name come up again or is it an editing mistake? I‘m very confused
I‘ll just leave this right here
This is the stack of books that no longer fit on my bookshelf. My husband says I have a problem, I don‘t see it
So while the country was falling apart this afternoon I was blissfully unaware spending my gift card at Barnes and Noble, then I got home
My sister got this for me for Christmas! It showed up at my house on Christmas Eve where I immediately opened the box and started the book! So excited!
And then this happened!
I‘ve been reading so many thrillers lately so of course I thought I was sooo smart and that I had this all figured out early on, boy was I wrong! Another great one from Lisa Jewell
Finally a thriller that wasn‘t totally predictable! I‘m all for building suspense but I felt like the middle was a little slow. But boy do the last 150 pages make up for it!
I‘m sure this is a very unpopular opinion but this was just ok for me. It might be the mindset I was in while I was trying to listen to it but I had to renew it from the library twice to get through it. It was long and a lot happened. Be sure to listen to the author‘s note at the end.
Rounding up to 4 stars. It was an enjoyable read with a twisted ending and a lot of questions. The first 200 pages felt like set up for all the action that finally takes place in the last 100 pages.
It was a little slow at times and I wanted more from the ending but I really like this “deep dive” into Grace‘s mind and her motives. I have to admit the story sounded interesting but I really picked this book because I needed a Debut book for my BOTM reading challenge, it‘s introducing me to some new authors!
I would have totally believed it if you told me this book was a memoir. I don‘t particularly like memoirs but this writing style felt so real to me. I‘m not a religious person but I work in health care, and I often wonder how religious people balance religious beliefs with science as Gifty does here.
I don‘t know what it was about this book that I didn‘t connect with but something felt off with this one
Well I guess I have to read book 2 now cause nothing was resolved in book 1!
Every time I get ready to start a new book I pick 3 options and read the book descriptions to my husband. This is the one he picked for me to read next. Other options were The Comeback and My Dark Vanessa
My first Riley Sager and I really liked it! Kept me guessing till the end what was really going on in that house! I‘ll definitely be reading more from this author
Pretty predictable rom-com but the banter between these two was hysterical! Had me laughing in my car to work everyday. And Olive‘s family sounds a lot like my husband‘s cousins
Finished this up on a rainy Sunday morning and I loved it! Part ghost story, part murder mystery, all good
A low so-so for me and I would round up to three stars. It‘s a shame because this would have been a pick if it wasn‘t for every cringe-worthy scene between Sylvie and Lucas
Can someone clarify something for me, Lucas and Sylvie are cousins, or second cousins or something, right??
Creepy and weird. I think it would make a great movie or mini-series
I wanted to finish my book today but I ended up finishing the socks I‘ve been knitting instead! They are a Christmas gift so I‘m way ahead of schedule this year
50 pages in and I‘m already enthralled, I love the imagery
It‘s hard to review this book, but I liked it. It took me about 100 pages to really get in to the story and most of the historical fiction I‘ve read has been WW2 fiction so civil war era was a change for me. It‘s the story of the everyday for the people who lived during this time and how they cling to beliefs and the people they love.
I thought I was going to like this one because the concept seemed right up my alley. But, it took me forever to read because I just wasn‘t in to it. It was kinda depressing and I would have liked if Lydia actually spent more time in her alternate reality. It was also a bit too long in my opinion.
Started the day with a 7 mile run, took a virtual embroidery class with my college roommate and my mom, now taking a few minutes on the back deck while my husband picks up dinner. What a beautiful day!
Really enjoyed this one, it was fast moving. BOTM has it categorized as “suspense” and I totally agree, I felt the suspense building. I guess some of the twists and I would have liked a different ending but overall it came together well!
