Hunger Games meets Harry Potter. The premise was supposed to be right up my alley and I was excited about the idea. I really hope this pans out, because so far this is not quite it. 😔 I will not give up yet. 🤞#bookofthemonth #bom #currentlyreading

Books like this get devoured in a few days. With my heart in my throat and bated breath, I was turning pages. Terms like MASCAL and napalm are now seared in my brain. There *were* women in Vietnam and their courageous, heartbreaking, life changing stories have to be told. Before they are forgotten. This is the best author for such a task. I actually finished this book shortly after posting the quote from it. 🙃 The story of her growth stayed with me. Discovering such a thing about her father, relearning herself, the advent of the internet 🛜 and the place it has in our world. A fascinating narrative of intrigue and suspense. Growth stories are a favorite and this is definitely one of those. I also liked the historical information. #recentlyread #nospoilers #bookofthemonth

I did not intend to read so many books this month, especially since I've spent a lot of evenings watching amazing women rocking the soccer fields. And tbh, it was a bit too much. But all those library holds coming in... What else was I supposed to do?
