You wouldn‘t know it from the sunny day, but bad storms left us without power for 12 hours overnight!
I was so pleased to get my @AardvarkBookClub picks (far right) with the v cute bookmark! #aardvark I bought the tagged for #CampLitsy24, and Impossible Things was just $1 at my library‘s sale.
Library books: Limits and Morningside were on the CL longlist. Mean Boys is a queer essay collection I‘m already enjoying, and 888 just looked fun.
I almost skipped because I wasn‘t super jazzed about any of their choices this month, but I enjoy getting the box so much and like continuing to support @AardvarkBookClub . Don‘t forget to pick up James for #CampLitsy24 as an add-on! #aardvark
The author referred to this as steampunk WWI. And there's something brilliant about it. There's the end of the Victorian era bumped up against the 20th century. People are into seances. There's trench warfare and no mans land and shell shock. It's all very surreal and the author ran with it.

Ok I must officially be in my sappy era because I loved this book. #aardvark did it again by introducing me to a genre and author I never would have tried and I am all the happier for it. Definitely picking up the next book by this author.
@swishandflick I know this one wasn‘t your favorite but something about it did it for me! Could it be 🪢 🪢🪢 lol?!
#Aardvark dropped a May clue on their Instagram and this is my guess. The "you know what", font style/color, the "we know what we're doing" caption (paired with the title), and the ladybug connection all feel on point. That does look like a ladybug in flight on the book cover, right? ?
This book snagged me because I wanted to figure out the mystery but ultimately was a very anticlimactic, depressing end. I think the ending was meant to be hopeful but honestly left me concerned. I didn‘t like this #aardvark pick.
