Got two rows in my #BookSpinBingo for November. I had one, but saw that I could score a second with Sheine Lende by Darcie Little Badger. So I hurried to get this one done too 😄

Soft pick. I'm always torn when it comes to this series. Shall I continue reading it? Shall I DNF? Then something happens and I ask myself, why did I ever think of DNFing. And so it continues. Loved the Billybumblers, as always, and the concept of a story within a story within a story. The rest was a So-So, and didn't really catch my full attention.

A lifelong Dark Tower fan, I'd always looked at The Wind through the Keyhole with a sort of contempt. The story is complete, why tarnish its legacy with further entries? I'm delighted to say I was wrong. This is a very welcome addition to Dark Tower canon, and its nested stories do much to bring further life and light to Roland's world and history. I look forward to including this, properly nested between 4 and 5, on my next Dark Tower read. 5/5
Late post!
My goal was to read 220 pages for #20in4 #Readathon. I read 110.
I loved this book. It‘s my last in the Dark Tower series. I loved the story in a story in a story. I loved the fantasy, the tiger, and being back with the ka-tet.
🐅🐅🐅🐅🐅
Thank you for hosting @Andrew65 ! I‘ll do better on the next one! 🤞
I almost skipped The Wind Through the Keyhole on this re-read because I was so excited to get to Wolves of the Calla. Then I got to thinking that I couldn‘t remember anything about it.
Man, am I glad I revisited this! King gets playful with the structure and deepens Dark Tower lore. It‘s a near perfect fantasy quest tale.
Maybe this is considered minor King but I think it‘s one of his best novels within or without The Dark Tower cycle.
I think it will be fun to join the #20in4 #Readathon this weekend!
🤞 My goal is to read 220 pages of The Wind Through the Keyhole.
❄️ I started with 31 pages today. It‘s nice to be back with the ka-tet.
Thank you @Andrew65 !
Welcome to the #LosersClub discussion for #windthroughthekeyhole Please be mindful of spoilers. We have new readers to King who haven‘t read all of his books. When referencing his other work, please keep this in mind for our new-to-King friends. Don‘t forget to tag each other in the comments so your friends can see your reply. Have fun!

I have not read the Dark Towers series, and did not need to in order to enjoy this book - I enjoyed the story within a story format - I enjoyed the Skin Man story more than the Wind Through the Keyhole story - but both were good - overall an enjoyable read and a reminder of what a good storyteller King is -

Make a great day everyone 🙂
With one week left, I'm not sure what I will finish. Working mostly on the tagged for #LosersClub ( @BarkingMadRun) this month.
Enjoying all my reads. The good news is whatever I don't finish becomes first up for the next month 🙂
#BookSpinBingo update @TheAromaofBooks
Make a great day everyone 🌻
It was nice to catch back up with my favorite ka-tet. To pass the time while stuck in a storm, Roland tells the story of how he and Jamie were sent to deal with a skin-man when he was younger. And then his younger self tells the story of Tim and his journey.
I had the audiobook which King narrates himself. I highly recommend that anytime King narrates one of his own books that you pick that version 💚

All over the place for #BookSpinBingo - loving everything I'm reading so still a win!
Haven't had many covers that fit the #ISpyBingo card - love the categories on it (messy bun a favorite 😊)

It's finally getting cool enough to be comfortable sitting outside and reading. So happy to be moving into my favorite time of year! 🍂🎃
King is a master crafter of creating coming of age children who you become deeply invested in. He does this in nearly every book I‘ve read of his, and it marvels me that an adult can so vividly remember and perfectly capture the feelings and emotions that are felt as a child.
This story within a story within a story was fast paced and compelling. I am in no rush to get to the Dark Tower, I am enjoying the journey far too much!
😱My book fell apart … my sanity is closely behind.

🎧 I feel 4.5 is the perfect place for this book. It could be a stand alone but reading the first 4 books will give you enough background of the world, language, characters to enjoy this story within a story that Roland tells his ka-tet as they wait out a storm after the tragedy at the end of book 4.
I have no idea why so many people have a problem with the author narrating. I enjoyed Mr King reading me a good bedtime story.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Once upon a bye, before your Grandfather's Grandfather was born, Roland, Susannah, Eddie, Jake and Oy got stuck in a starkblast. When they found a safe place to settle for the night Roland told his ka-tet some fireside stories.
I didnt care much for this story within a story, perhaps it becomes relevant further along in the series but I wasn't feeling it.
Am looking forward to getting back on track with the main plot in the next book.
One of the few #StephenKing books I had yet to read. Loved it. I love his perspective on fantasy (Eyes of the Dragon is insanely underrated), and this felt like an old fashioned fairy tale, though with a dark spin.
Although this book is part of the Dark Tower series, it adds nothing essential to the journey, and our heroes aren‘t in it much at all. They have to seek shelter during terrible weather, and Roland tells them stories while they wait for the weather to pass. I really like it, in spite of that. I was able to get in a short walk before the rain and listened to more of The Green Mile. #audiowalk
We are finishing up the Dark Tower series with this later addition. Technically, in terms of the story, it takes place between books 4 & 5, but since our heroes aren‘t much in it and it was published after the last book, it doesn‘t matter if it‘s read out of order. Went to the beach today but too many people, so we came back. I walked in a park across the bay and listened to more of The Green Mile. #audiowalk
What a treat to read a part of The Dark Tower series that I haven‘t read before. The book was read by Stephen King himself so it was just like listening to him telling me a story.
Felt good to be bad.My City Library is only doing curbside, next town over has limited hours , I put a book on hold over there cuz the wait would be shorter. The best part was shopping their little library store , I missed that soooo much ! $5 for all .😀
It's nice to be back with the ka-tet. It's been a few years since I read the rest of the series, but I haven't read this one. it's like visiting old friends.
My second read through the #darktower series as I go through #expandeddt journey. I didn‘t read this the first time I read the series. There were a few fun little tidbits and the story was alright, but I guess I was hoping for a little more to the overall plot. This could be read as a little (certainly a short novel by SK standards!) stand alone story, but when reading the series you just want a little more.
In celebration of Stephen King's newest release, If It Bleeds, i'm ranking/reviewing all ten books of his that I've read.
5. Wind through the keyhole
A story within a story really shouldn't have worked, but i found this little dark tower book to be quite piogant.
I love The Dark Tower series (impossible to make into a single movie). Amazing characters, adventures and layers of intricately woven stories and lore. So, another small dose of my favourite characters was long awaited and happily received. A story - in a story - in a story- it can be read alone or as part of the magnificent series. Stephen King - many thanks from a Constant Reader.
My Dark Tower re-read is going extra slowly, because I'm also re-reading Mark Z Danielewski's The Familiar series. #love #fiction #TheDarkTower #StephenKing #TheFamiliar #TF #MarkZDanielewski #MZD
It was such a good story of Roland's past, but now we must continue the quest for the dark tower.
My reread of the Dark Tower series with this book. This feels very different from the rest of the books but is still so good. @avgeyer
That moment in the bookstore when you have found true love. I couldn't believe there really was another book... 😍
#bookstorefind #booklove #stephenking #darktowers
What an amazing read! I read out of order(which is okay) and definitely shed tears at the end! I have been through so much with Roland and his tet, it‘s a sad day that it‘s finally come to an end. I recommend reading all of the books in order starting NOW. You won‘t regret it!
I am all prepared for the holiday weekend! I've got a stack of books, tea, snacks, and my reading buddies (aka the kitties 😸)! Let's get this party started! 😁📚💕🎉
A strange dark fantasy, but still compelling.
Look! A book related post! It‘s an April miracle! 😂 The Book Rack called to say two books I wanted had been turned in. I made a stop during my other shopping errands. I do love a good used bookstore #bookhaul. #Bailey is not pleased that I left, even though I brought her toys and treats. 😂 #DogsofLitsy
“Stories take a person away. If it‘s a good one, that is.”
This is a story within a story set inside the Dark Tower universe but luckily it was pretty standalone since it‘s been so long since I read that series.
I liked the story and really liked the story within the story. Glad I finally got around to reading this one.
Supplementary to the series, but necessary if you enjoy the Dark Tower. Lots of good backstory to certain fascinating characters....
Really need to get the car washed but this particular one is a small “one car at a time” car wash so you have to wait forever.
It‘s as good as a time as any to sneak some reading in!🤷♀️
Last night my boyfriend was like “so are we having corned beef tomorrow?”
My response was “uuuuuuhhhhhhh???”
Welp I got some ingredients, grabbed the Instant Pot and consulted Google.
But now I can get in some reading time while waiting to see how this experiment turns out. 🤞📖🍀
In the end, the wind takes everything, doesn‘t it? And why not? Why other? If the sweetness of our lives did not depart, there would be no sweetness at all.
I was just browsing my shelves and am ashamed I have owned this book for forever and have not read it (how? why?)
It‘s been years since I‘ve read the Dark Tower series, so hopefully I can read this one without remembering all the details of the series!
Nice relaxing detour in the world of The Dark Tower before heading into the second half of this series. Can be read as a standalone but is much better with knowledge of the series. As always King is a master storyteller!
