Adulting: How to become a grown-up in 468 easy(ish) steps
Adulting: How to become a grown-up in 468 easy(ish) steps | Kelly Williams Brown
'Adult' isn't a noun; it's a verb. Just because you don't feel like an adult doesn't mean you can't act like one. And it all begins with this funny, wise, and useful book. Based on Kelly Williams Brown's popular blog, ADULtING makes the scary, confusing 'real world' approachable, manageable - and even conquerable. this guide will help you to navigate the stormy Sea of Adulthood so that you may find safe harbour in Not Running Out of toilet Paper Bay, and along the way you will learn: What to check when renting a new apartment - not just the nearby bars, but the taps and stove, among other things. How to avoid hooking up with anyone in your office - imagine your co-workers having plastic, featureless doll crotches. It helps. When a busy person can find time to learn about the world - it involves the intersection between public radio and hair-straightening.

I heard good things about this book so I was excited for the humor of it, but I feel like I was way too old to be reading it. Many of the tips were obvious to me or not useful...I‘m in a different stage of life. I found some humor in the beginning, but by the middle and end I found myself skimming. HOWEVER!! I feel this would‘ve been a really useful/interesting/informative/enjoyable book if I had read this around the time I was in college!

bibliobard 😅 I don‘t understand what half of these categories mean or is it kind of however you interpret it to mean? 6y
LibrarianRyan @Shakespearience it really is all in how you interpret it. May be you read a sneaky pie brown (cat mystery) or maybe you read a book in a day because you don‘t want to disturb the cat napping in your lap. Freezer book is a Friends reference. Anytime Joey reads a book that scares or upsets him he puts it in the freezer (It and Little Women). If you can explain the interpretation that is all that matters. 6y

I only got one book for Christmas this year (since I told my parents to not get me anything it was more than expected). I am blessed to have amazingly generous family and have a bit of “extra” money. I‘m torn as to being an adult and putting all of it toward a bill/saving it or spending whatever I want on books/bookish things and then whatever is left bill/save. #bookloverproblems

This note in a library book cracked me up. I won't lose your spot, Kane! :)

I only feel kinda bad I put a hold on this which is probably forced Kane to turn this book early. But I missed an Modern Mrs. Darcy Kindle sale the other week and this intrigued me. This discussion questions are hilarious and I'm thinking what a fun book this would be to go through as a book club. Unconventional, maybe, but I'm guessing it would make for good discussion.
