I needed something easy to listen to, so picked this one up. Unexpectedly, it was set in Oxford, which I‘m going to in about 3 weeks, so that was a fun surprise.
Lucy is visiting her grandmother and finds out she died. Then it turns out she‘s actually a vampire. But who attacked her before that? So it had a nice easy mystery. I‘ll probably continue the series.
The newest Nancy Warren Vampire Knitting Club as a reward for finishing my reading for class 🧛🏻♂️🧶it‘s so cozy and perfect for #LitSolace #Midsummersolace #Hyggehour

#ReadAway2024 #SeriesLove2024 This is the first in a new-to-me series. Kind of a lightweight beginning but good bedtime reading because there aren‘t a lot of different threads to follow. And the idea of a group of vampires sitting around knitting just gives me the giggles. If you‘re someone who likes to play with yarn, you might enjoy this.
This was rather bland. It had a lot of fun ideas that just fizzled on the page. It wasn't bad, it wasn't good, it was very blah.
I appreciate the lack of romance. That would have made the book even more cliche.
It could have done with some better editing too. There were a few bits where characters were given information and then a sentence later asked for the same information.
The series has potential and it's easy reading.
I have been looking forward to reading the newest spinoff series from The Vampire Knitting Club by Nancy Warren. I've loved all of her books. This new series follows Lucy's friend Jennifer as she starts a knitting shop at a new location. There are some old friends and new characters. I have to admit though this one didn't quite draw me in yet as much as other books by author. It was a nice relaxing read though.
I normally would not have picked up this book but I was attracted by the combination of knitting and vampires, and by the fact that it was set in Oxford, which I had just visited in August. It was a fun read!

This book has a strong paranormal element, with vampires and witches. It takes place on a charming little street in Oxford, the kind of place that sounds perfect to me. There is a real sense of history here. It is fun to see Lucy bumbling about, trying to find her place in this new world. This is the beginning of a cute, new series, and is short enough to read in a day.
I need to finish up what I'm currently reading because I just saw that book 14 of the Vampire Knitting Club by Nancy Warren was released. The author also announced a new spinoff series she's working on. I hope it's good too!
I got so excited to see a new book in the Vampire Knitting Club series is coming out September 28 💕
Many moons ago, @ShyBookOwl posted this and I stuck it on my TBR. Ended up reading The Vampire Book Club first, but finally got to this one. Loved it!
Definitely a series I‘ll keep reading.
#mystery #paranormal
Not feeling so good... head throbbing and sick to my stomach. So laying down with headphones in listening to the tagged book.
Needing an audiobook for grocery shopping today. I normally go with hubby but he didn't sleep well. So here it goes.
Cardinal Woolsey‘s knitting shop has appeared on postcards celebrating the quaint views of Oxford, of which there are many.
🧶— The Vampire Knitting Club: First in a Paranormal Cozy Mystery Series by Nancy Warren

#haunted day 5! @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @Eggs if I were an immortal vampire I‘d use eternity to knit some damn fine sweaters 🧶
Super fun and entertaining #paranormalcozymystery, with a wonderful narration by #SarahZimmerman. Does it make sense? No, but that‘s not the point, is it?
I‘m not too sure about this book. Seems to me if you‘re going to set a book in a yarn store, you should have a knitter beta read it. 😬
A very entertaining cozy mystery.
This was just as wonderfully awful as I hoped 😊
I‘ve never had any interest in cozy mysteries. They just don‘t sound like my cup of tea. But a podcast I was listening to mentioned the idea of witch knitting cozies… so I had to see if there was such a thing. And I downloaded these two series starters. I guess we‘ll see if I‘m right! 😅
I was planning on spending my morning, curled up on the couch reading the tagged book. Then I opened the fridge to see every shelf was purple. A giant bottle of purple pickled turnip was knocked over and all the juice spilled from the top shelf all the way to the bottom. Every nook and cranny on the way down. 2 hours later I am finally sitting down to read my book. Happy Saturday !🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
Yay! @Mommamanzi it arrived! My #jolakaflod swap! I am excited for this book, can‘t wait to start reading it! Thanks so much! The bourbon vanilla bar sounds delicious so I am going have to stash it away from my husband...lol
Thanks @MaleficentBookDragon for organizing this swap.
A woman learns about the paranormal. The vampires knit.
I saw someone on here mention this series and I'm so glad I checked it out. Fun cozy mystery with a side of paranormal. I don't knit but I do love to crochet so i loved the idea of inheriting an old yarn store! Of course for Lucy that meant she also now in close quarters with the eclectic bunch of vampires from the knitting club. That turns out not to even be her biggest shock.
"It‘s bad enough feeling that maniacal witches are after me, I‘m not sure I can take murderous bibliophiles as well.”
A fun start to this paranormal cozy mystery series! Lucy has come to Oxford to see her grandmother, who owns a knitting shop, only to find out that her grandmother has died and there are mysterious people around who may be involved.
The book isn‘t a literary masterpiece, but it‘s enjoyable for what it is. I assume the simple writing style and story are expected characteristics of cozy mysteries. I did find the characters to be intriguing. The mystery was okay - nothing special, but not bad either. The story is about witches and vampires for those who might want a little spookiness past Halloween!
Spending my afternoon reading The Vampire Knitting Club
"I think the only disappointment for both of us was that she‘d never been able to teach me to knit. Everything I tried, whether it was a sweater, a pair of socks or a simple scarf ended up looking like a scrunched-up hedgehog." I know how that goes ?
You guys?!??! Another cozy swap - WITH CRAFTS??? Who‘s with me 🙌🏻🙌🏾🙌🏼🙌🏿🙌

I may have accidentally opened a swap package early...this came in the mail today and I opened it thinking it was one of the books I ordered for my matches. There was no note, so I'm sorry if I ruined a surprise!
Thank you thank you @BethM for this delightful #cozyswap package of goodies! I am so excited about both of these books! The candle smells amazing and very into these spooky socks and treats, especially the chocolate.
Thanks also to @ferskner @Chrissyreadit @Avanders for organizing! 🎃🧡📚🧡🎃

I have to admit — the idea of sitting by a fire doesn‘t sound appealing right now, because we‘re getting a lot of smoke from the fires in Washington and Oregon. Someday, I‘ll want a cup of cocoa, knitting, a good book, and a tasty treat. But not today,
This was so so good! Vampires and witches, fast paced, intriguing story lines. Great fall read!
I can‘t believe how good this book is! Thanks for the recommendation @MaleficentBookDragon ! Living the pumpkin spice life while I run errands and listen to this charming book.
For anyone looking for a fun new paranormal cozy, this book is 0.99 on Amazon for the kindle version.

I‘m a sucker for cozy mysteries, particularly if they involve knitting. I had no idea this was even a thing till a year or so ago. Add in vampires and witches, and it‘s hard to resist, even if I‘m tempted to think it‘ll be cheesy.
Lucy heads to Oxford to visit her gran, finds out her gran has died and left Lucy her yarn shop. Lucy soon realizes things are not as they seem.
One of the most random combinations (vampires and 🧶 knitting) but actually quite enjoyable. This is the first book in the series.
This is a super cute paranormal cozy.
I really enjoyed it and plan on continuing with the series.
I sped through the first two books of this paranormal cosy mystery series and am well into book three. Super fun.
Lucy goes to visit her grandmother in Oxford to find she has passed away and left her knitting shop to Lucy. Only Gram isn't so much dead as UNdead and was murdered. The vampire knitting club is on the case!
Available on Kindle Unlimited.
For .99 I couldn't resist.
