February #2025Stats I'm saying the word search was my favourite book this month because I love word searches
Read 6 books off my shelf, I bought several books for work as they were very cheap second hand and I got 3 ARCs though didn't include them.
The 2 books I donated were ones off my shelf. It was the second and third in a series ... I didn't like the first one and I was never going to read the rest
I am ready! I might read the 1990s edition as I've cracked the spine and it's already well read
I want to read the Rick Riordan books. I might split it up because it is long. Read other books in-between rather than trying to read it all at once
#RealmofElderlings
The first ¾ of this book are very slow and then it speeds up at the end.
It's the recollections of a royal bastard starting from when he was very young. His memories become clearer as he becomes older, though not always.
Fitz is not a reliable narrator. Whether that is deliberate or because memories are fallible. It's interesting to grow alongside him and learn what he finds value in and the people and events that shaped him.
I've just fished this and I had fun. It isn't without faults but I thought the fun I had overcame that
Some of the pages were really low res resulting in pixelated text. Usually in word searches if you have multiple words e.g John Winchester then they are written without spaces. This one would include an extra letter between the words which was annoying.
It's not perfect but if you're a fan then it's a bit of fun.
April is National Poetry Month so #QueerBC is going to celebrate queer poets and poems
You can suggest 3 individual poems. These can be by queer authors or about queer experiences
Then suggest 1 poet and people can read anything they‘ve written
At the end we‘ll vote on which poet to read and then have a top 3 list of poems … maybe, not figured that out
Suggest here - https://forms.gle/W4AWJwPSr5qaJiJa9
I'll keep it open until March 23rd
Vote for April #QueerBC
Sorry, everything is going up early because I‘ve got my ADHD assessment this weekend and family in hospital and I just want it done so I don‘t have to think about it. I get things done early rather than late!

Royal Assassin is the second book in the Farseer Trilogy #RealmofElderlings
How is everyone feeling about the series so far?
I‘ve got about 50 pages left of Assassin‘s Apprentice will hopefully get it finished this week. I‘m excited and a little intimidated by the second book. Been an age since I‘ve read anything that long and I think it‘s going to hurt but also fuck yeah my favourite character!
It's book 3 of the Heroes of Olympus series for #RiordanverseReadalong
I am a little behind, haven't started book 2 but hoping to get both of these done in March
@mom2bugnbee @LitsyEvents
My March rolls for #Roll100
I'm going to focus on Natural Twenty and How Not to Get Eaten by an Owlbear. The other one sounds a bit heavy
Feb check in for #GottaCatchemAll
How are we all doing?
I've got some that I'm close to catching but beginning of the year is very scattered for me
#Roll100 March rolls are here! It's my birthday in March so I went with some of my favourite dice - skull ones (obviously), my big wooden ones, and part of the Odin's ravens set ... I can't remember which raven
Roll 1 = 51
Roll 2 = 9 or 90
Roll 3 = 74
What are you all reading?
I might get to Son of Neptune this week, I'm not sure. I'm trying to get my book club books read and then tackle ARCs and TBR reads. I want to get my NetGalley ratio to 80%
#BookSpinBingo @TheAromaofBooks
There was something very meditative about this book. I found a lot of joy in reading it and letting everything slow down.
The food descriptions were absolutely amazing. The ethos of minimising waste by using leftovers to create new dishes was really inspiring and there was a lot of love put into this aspect of the book.

National Poetry Month is April in the USA and October in the UK
I wanted to do an extra poetry focused thing for #QueerBC. I could do 2 but I'm also concerned that October often has #Scarathlon and other reading challenges. It could be a bit much!
So, April, October, or both?
This started off really well. I liked the setting, though it took me a while to remember who everyone was and their relationship to everyone else.
It started to drag about half way through. Plots were dropped (maybe to be explored in future books), the main couple got a bit repetitive, and the pace slowed down which was really felt.
#RealmofElderlings mid way check in!
How's it going?
I've been really enjoying reading people's comments over on SG. I'm about half way through. Even though it's re-read I'm finding new things in the text, have different opinions, and feeling so I'm really enjoying it
#QueerBC March author is Bushra Rehman with over 50% of the votes!
Drop recommendations or comments below. This is a new author for me so looking forward to seeing what people read and what they think
How are you all getting on with February's author Akwaeke Emezi?
I've created a SG book club for anyone interested - https://app.thestorygraph.com/book_clubs/ec1d5a86-5de9-4315-a128-fcab4d27c31d
First book is 99p on Kobo and Kindle

Ancient slices of life found in cuneiform clay tablets. Each story is a stepping off point to delve into topics such as medicine, literature, and witchcraft.
This book does an amazing job of being accessible academia. What I mean by that is that it is academic level research and writing, written in a way that is engaging and accessible to people who aren‘t academics.

This is a bit of an update and trauma dump. I'm taking a step away from things. I'll still be running challenges but I won't be commenting as much
I'm waiting for an ADHD/ASD assessment. I've been taken off my current medication as I was misdiagnosed. This has been both good and bad
So this is based on Taming of the Shrew/10 Things I Hate About You ... I'm guessing loosely since it's about assassins
Do I keep this for October or binge watch immediately. That is the dilema
This was beyond cute! The characters themselves were adorable and there were a lot of different ones.
The instructions were clear, detailed, and easy to follow. This made it accessible to someone like me who doesn‘t draw.
The characters each had a unique description which would appeal to fantasy or D&D fans. I shared this with my D&D group who immediately wanted to draw their characters as cute creatures.
Thanks to #NetGalley the #ARC
I really like Storygraph's wrap up graphics. I'm very tempted to ask for Plus for my birthday as I also want to support them
#MonthlyWrapUp #PuddleJumperWrapUp
February #BookSpinBingo
ARC heavy this month. I've got 3 book club books to read and 2 #Roll100
@TheAromaofBooks
#BookSpinBingo for January, I finished both #BookSpin and #DoubleSpin
2/3 #Roll100 (I couldn't find the third)
I've technically read Hope for your Pelvic Floor but I wanted to do the online course with it before I reviewed it
@TheAromaofBooks
Ooo stats to excuse my complicated spreadsheet!
It‘s been a good month; I read 12 books that were either on my shelf or on my kindle. Some were eArcs but I‘m counting them
I donated 4 of the books I read including my DNF
I did buy 8 books but! That was some Rick Riordan books and some more danmei because I #ReadMyDamnDanmei and wanted the next in the series …
Favourite read was SVSSS Volume 1 (Yes, I bought the rest)
#2025Stats

This year is going fast! February author is Akwaeke Emezi, have you decided what you are reading?
How did you find January's pick Malinda Lo?
Voting will end Feb 15th - https://forms.gle/hH3EqBp1JNLsS3YE7
#QueerBC
Well I guess I won't be doing that tonight 🤣
#RiordanverseReadalong is carrying on with the Heroes of Olympus series and reading The Son of Neptune
I've created a bookclub on SG to keep things organized if anyone wants to join - https://app.thestorygraph.com/book_clubs/158fd0c1-ae91-45ee-b40c-6ab2f39d101f
I just want to see which books rate highly
I'm excited to get back into this universe and I'm hoping for more Percy 😅
It is nearly time to start reading Assassin's Apprentice!
This is running on Litsy and Storygraph and there are different ways you can get involved, or not get involved, it is all optional
#RealmofElderlings
Full information in the comments
Just started reading this and I'm enjoying how the author is connecting ancient to modern
First #GottaCatchemAll check in of 2025!
Congratulations to @TheAromaofBooks @kwmg40 for catching their first Pokemon!
I've completed a decent number of prompts. How is everyone else doing?
Getting ready for #RealmofElderlings by finding my copies
The grey one is my original book from when I was a teenager. It is so tiny, the font is tiny and I squint when I look at it
The other copy is my nice copy and I don't want to ruin it ... By reading it? 🤣
I was underwhelmed by this book, however, the ending I found very distasteful. It turned the book from a meh to a solid no.
The book suffers from tonal whiplash and not knowing who its audience is. Some chapters are teenage cutesy romance and others are ghost haunting mystery.
⬇️
February #BookSpinBingo I'm sticking with only naming a few books and then leaving the rest to mood reads
I've got a few buddy reads this month so I'm hoping to get through Guardian 2, Assassin's Apprentice and The Son of Neptune
@TheAromaofBooks
Ended up DNFing this one. I wasn't into it at all.
I'm not commenting on the content of the book because I only got about 5 chapters in. It seemed fine, I just didn't think this was what I wanted right now.
#Roll100 #BookSpin @TheAromaofBooks
I apparently bought this in 2014 and have clearly never had the urge to read it. Having a look at it, it seems to be a sequel series. I haven't read anything by this author so that's a bit worrying
I haven't read the first volume so I wasn't familiar with the layout or content of this series. I was interested in the theme ideas and how a yoga class could be structured.
I found this very alien and inauthentic. Several of the things suggested I felt were outside a yoga teacher's remit.
⬇️
My books for #Roll100 I'd already read 60 which was Web of Obsidian by Lydia M. Hawk
I don't think I'll get to The Poppy War as I've got several other long books on my list. I'll aim to get Razro's Edge and Acts of Cupidity read
#Roll100 rolls for February! I went with a red theme because I am so cold and I want it to be warmer
Roll 1 = 6 or 60
Roll 2 = 42
Roll 3 = 82
Share what you are reading and tag me @Puddlejumper
This was very slow, it got better at the end but I found it a slog to get through
#Roll100 January
#ReadorDonate @julieclair
Leftover from #WinterGames this was a solid cosy murder mystery
I think this was a #readordonate from December @julieclair
I procrastinated reading the procrastination book!
I was drawn to this book as I'm neurodivergent and struggle with procrastination.
I read this on my Kindle and much of the book was unreadable. Sections had no spaces between words, words would be different sizes or bolded. I assume these were formatting errors that would be sorted out before publication.
Unfortunately, this made it difficult to read and the worksheets looked odd.
⬇️
I really enjoyed the first volume. I've wanted to read this for ages after watching bits and pieces of the show. It is very different from the show and I think much better.
Guo Changcheng was definitely my favourite. I related to him so much.
There was mystery, mythology, pining, and longing looks, all the good stuff.
⬇️
This is the first planned reading schedule for #RealmofElderlings
It could change depending on how people find it.
I‘m giving 2 months for books over 500 pages which is pretty much all of them! This means it will take about 2 years to get through the entire series.
We'll be starting with Assassin's Apprentice in February, there will be a buddy read and readalong on SG and I'll post start, mid, end posts on Litsy
Chicago during the roaring 20s with cat shapeshifters, mobs, and speakeasies. Absolutely fantastic!
The ending was a bit quick and hand waving but I didn't really mind that. The romance was sweet and had a natural build up.
This is part of the Hexworld universe which I've not read, or I've read one, but you don't need to have read them to understand the book.
Not sure who is following #RiordanverseReadalong but I figured I‘d do a check in/final thoughts post
How did you enjoy or not enjoy the book? Any favourite characters or moments?
Anybody can join in!
The next book we‘ll be reading will be The Son of Neptune in February
I was a bit underwhelmed. I found the characters a bit bland and there wasn‘t any connection between them. Hoping this changes! Percy is just so hard to follow
