Time has put out a list of 50 best romance books! I am not a big romance reader (I find many of them problematic and/or cheesy)
I am curious what my romance reading friends think of the list and what are your favorites??
The list look heavily cis-straight-white but I do see a few queer and BIPOC ones sprinkled in.
I have read 8 (mostly the gay ones 🏳️🌈😀)

One of my favorites is tagged!
What a surprise - not. No explanations needed, I guess😄

(just reusing the picture because I kinda like it)
Did I rush through this book? Yes. Did I want to continue reading it forever and ever? Yes. Do I want to read the next book in the series? Yes.
Alexis Hall is good for my soul. I love how these book normalize queer realities without exploiting them. That they show how our society still discriminates, but also simply focuses on the fact of two people meeting and growing together.
Did I ask the library to get the other books by Alexis Hall after reading “Ten Things that never happend“? Did they agree? Am I excited to spend the next few days in the company of Luc? Well... 😄
We gave my daughter our couch and loveseat so I‘m getting all of the kitty love 🐾❤️ they keep looking around for their lounging spot!
I hope everyone had a great weekend!! 🫶🏻❤️

I‘m really liking the banter and sarcasm in this one!
Tux and Miss Priss had an exhausting day 😫🤭

Happy Friday Friends!! I woke up too early on my day off, but I‘m enjoying the quiet time!!
Finally starting this one!! It was a gift from @Soubhiville ❤️🤍💙 I need something light with some laughter 🤭 it‘s been a very long week.
Tell me your favorite rom coms! Or anything light!

After celeb-adjacent Luc O'Donnell appears in the tabloids once too often, he finds his job as fundraiser for an obscure charity in jeopardy unless he can find a presentable boyfriend. A friend of a friend agrees to be his fake boyfriend if Luc returns the favour at a family gathering.
This romcom was great at the com - it had me howling with laughter at times - but the rom part was more of a meh - I just didn't care about them as a couple.
I read that Boyfriend Material was the perfect book to cure my Red, White & Royal Blue hangover. While Hall doesn't champion McQuiston, in my opinion, I enjoyed this quirky novel immensely. Fun, witty, sweet, entertaining & uproarious, my sourpuss personality was once again thwarted by a flirty, tender romcom. I loved the leading duos "fake" romance & while some of the side characters were too outrageous to be taken seriously, it was all good fun!
For someone who has a degree in hiding from their problems, I can't help feeling personally attacked by this one! 😂❤️

Vastly different from my last read, yet enjoying the banter already! ❤️🏳️🌈

I liked this but didn‘t love it, and I don‘t feel a need to continue the series. I felt like a lot of it was repetitive between the characters, and sometimes the banter was too over the top for me.
The wake up call will be in 3h but I had to finish this book.
I loved Luc and Oliver and I can't wait to read all the following books 😍
I'm not ready to let them go yet
Adore!!
I listened to this on a long car ride (Calgary Alberta to Portland Oregon) and it kept me super entertained.
I adore both main characters, the miscommunication is not so outlandish that you don't believe it, and the basic tropes are here - one bed night, miscommunication, polar opposites, fake dating. It was all intertwined and done so well I wanted to stay with them through it all.
Last photo! This book is almost the perfect length for the long, long drive from Calgary to PDX. Super entertaining and lovable characters.
This book reads so much like a rom-com I would watch multiple times. I LOVE the quirky side characters, and found the book super funny.
I keep picturing the main characters as Noah and Will from the 2022 Hulu movie Fire Island 😍
Here is another view of my drive while listening
My drive through Alberta yesterday, perfect time for audiobooks.
There were several parts where I actually LOL‘d. And I like how these two didn‘t give up on each other and actually talked about their feelings ❤️
Are you headed off to the beach soon? Here‘s a couple great reads you could take with you!
🚨🚨BOOK MAIL!!🚨🚨
I am in LOVE with these special editions 😍
The inside flaps and endpapers also have gorgeous art designs and the sprayed edges are super adorable
🤩 I snagged these gorgeous special editions 🤩
The £ to $ conversation rate was worth it. I just really can't resist when my favorite books get new covers by my favorite fan artist 💁🏼♀️
My third read (!) and I think I like it more every time I read it. I chose this for the “hero pose“ square because the leaning hero is such a fav with romance readers. 😁
Rain is The Heartbreak Diet by Thorina Rose and Half of a Face is A Damaged Trust by Amanda Carpenter. (Annoying that both main characters are photographers and no cover included a camera!)

Air reading is the best reading… okay who am I kidding… anywhere I am where I don‘t know anybody is the best reading.
I loved everything about this book! I‘m actually mad at myself for waiting so long to read it- I won‘t make that mistake with the follow-up.

#pop23 - book with a queer lead
Luc needs to rehab his reputation to save his job, who better than Oliver, a fit, smart, lawyer. Their date goes to shit and Luc convinces him that they should fake date, and they can help each other with events they‘d rather not go to alone. Shenanigans ensue. Insecurities discussed, emotions felt, kisses had etc etc. these 2 are so funny and I love them, re-read this book bc I just got the sequel, stay tuned
I plan to get to this #lgbtqia+ book next week…I‘ve heard nothing but good things!

Absolutely loved this book!
Luc is a trainwreck who is ordered by his boss to clean up his act & find a respectable boyfriend so donors will see him as “the right kind of gay.”
Oliver is a friend of a friend, clean-cut, respectable barrister who is single &doesnt want to go to his parents‘ anniversary party alone.
They never got along but they decide to try being a pretend couple, they didn‘t count on actually liking each other.
Finished 9/13/2022
Time for this one. I wasn't a huge fan of Glitterland. I'm hoping for better results here.

Read this with #LittensLoveRomance group and loved it. I like a good book that can make me laugh out loud. The characters were quirky, fun and interesting.
SOOO excited for this!! #AuldLangSpine
@monalyisha @Read4life
We have similar taste bc some of these are my faves, too! I loved Soulmate Equation, Book Lovers, and Aristotle&Dante!
I‘m going to start with these three! Thank you so much 🥳
This one goes into “Romancing a Trainwreck“ bucket, on both sides of the fence. Both the MC and his love interest have issues — or rather, their issues have issues. Which is part of the reason why this book is so fun. That's a hard balance to strike, to give your characters enough faults to make them relatable but not enough to make them unlikable, and the author manages splendidly.
5.0/5

SO funny. SO sweet. I loved this book. The banter with Luc‘s workmates gives me life 😆 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I was so disappointed to hear that Alexis Hall‘s next book was delayed a month that I immediately went out and got both books in this series. It‘s been great to come late to the party on Hall, there is so much to get through! I‘m struggling to focus right now as I‘m having a bad patch of migraines and fatigue, but these books are so engaging and funny that I can stick with them even when I‘m completely worn out. They are definitely laugh out loud
Having a lovely lazy weekend : finished listening to a short story audiobook and now listening to this lovely rom-com. It‘s a modern take on Bridget Jones 🤣💚🐉 - Oprah had a good life list on her Instagram ( above right )
⭐️⭐️⭐️ Who doesn‘t enjoy a fake dating story? Based on podcasts/reviews, my expectations were high. Too high, apparently. There are several good qualities to both books: likable characters, funny banter, very important, relevant topics. But one major flaw - they‘re too long. Just get to the damned point. There‘s way too much unnecessary dialogue. Idk. A good editing down would‘ve better held my attention.

🐚Tagged book was fabulous!
🐚I‘m ready for Autumn!🍁However, I need a few more beach day trips first.
🐚I took this picture on Long Beach Island last weekend. It was a beautiful beach day.
✨Everyone is welcome to play! Tagging some Littens below to get it started. ✨
I think Joe Jameson is my new favorite audiobook narrator. This was hilarious and really cute. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Just finished my reread so I can get started on the sequel!
