So I‘ve been reading the bonus material in my all time favourite Alexis Hall book and my gods the snark is on point! 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻 So I went online trying to find a picture of this amazing human being, but all I found was not amazing snark and subversion brilliance on his/hers/their website! Still don‘t have a face to go with the brilliance, but I am in love.

CarolynM A few years ago I spent some time trying to work out who he really is following the few clues scattered through his blog. Complete waste of effort, of course, and I feel a bit bad about it because he‘s entitled to his privacy, but like you I would love to see his face. 3w

GingerAntics @CarolynM @julesG that is a fair point. He need to be able to sit and write without people gathering at the window or getting excited in a coffee shop because she went out to get some fresh air. I do need more Alexis Hall books, so it‘s all good. I‘m adoring the fact that they call themselves “Hall” all the time. I can‘t help laughing. 3w

Now, I want to just go to southeast England, go sit in a bunch of coffee and shops and stuff, and then look at everyone, imagining each of them as Alexis Hall. 🤣😂🤣 3w

As my next read is the tagged book, or I should say re-read, I was put in mind of Lewis Caroll for #weirdwords Specifically one of my favorite poems of all time, including one of my all-time favorite nonce words coined by Caroll: vorpal sword. Jabberwocky, alongside Carroll's other works, is a treasure trove of great words, as this article shows:

vivastory @Aimeesue I was bored at work once & I memorized it lol. For some reason the lines that have always stuck with me is, “'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves/ Did gyre and gimble in the wabe“ I find myself muttering it under my breath sometimes when I'm stuck in traffic 😂 2y

Centique Yes! I only memorised the first paragraph but I‘ve said it so often that the whole family will say “‘‘twas brillig” and someone else will provide the rest of it. 😂😂 There is something about saying it out loud that just sounds good to my ears. 2y

vivastory @Centique I agree about it being pleasant sounding! It's such a blast to read aloud. I know that tomorrow morning I will be “galumphing back“ for a second cup of coffee lol 2y
