I hope December has been good to all of you!
I‘ve been soooo sick all December!! I just got better almost a week ago. I had COVID and then a gas intoxication! I cleaned the fridge and got a hammer 🔨 to get rid of some ice. Terrible decision!! I didn‘t know the noise coming out of the fridge was gas a gas leak, so I stayed there and inhaled it all. It leaked three times with a long persistent deflating noise like a balloon would sound like.

Running it out as best as I can and looking after myself with hot beverages and comfort. My head is killing me, though.

pickThis book is an intriguing exploration of grief. While it‘s marketed as humor, I personally didn‘t find it all that funny. It still has a charm to it. The author took a highly original approach to presenting themes of loss and healing.
The interactions between Alice & Ben, the unusual circumstances of their annual meetings, are very heartfelt & I enjoyed reading through them. It felt very authentic and touching.

A great read that lingers in your mind long after the last page.

pickI found this book to be very useful to the writing community. It's full of worksheets, examples, valuable information & tips to make our lives easier. As a writer myself it's a challenge for me to network. That's not my forte.
This book is filled with all the information you need to start ticking boxes and being able to train yourself to network & lose the fear once & for all.

panUnfortunately this book wasn't for me. I struggled to stay engaged in the story. I found the writing to be quite amateur & in need of revision. Many details were unnecessary & distracted me from the main story. People who don't understand Northern English words/slang won't be able to read it. It limits the audience.
The premise was good but the execution lacked in many ways.
pickThis book is a piece of art. It's full of detailed & beautiful illustrations & organized as a precious timeline about the historical events that shaped the world of botany. What kept me from giving a 5 star rating is that's only concentrated on the history of it instead of botany, which was the main reason for me reading this book. GEEZ! At LAST!!
After 199 pages we finally get a little bit of action. I hate when slowburns take SO long. C‘mon! It was a good scene. 🤷🏻♀️ Clean & sweet. Not too crazy or overboard. Just nice. I would rate the smut in this book so far as a 🌶️🌶️.
Does it gets better than this? Or was that bit the best part?
pickI loved the MC‘s inner voice. It‘s sarcastic and funny and when it‘s not, you can relate to her pain and struggles.
I loved the interactions between the sisters. Their differences and relationship with each other. How they view each other. The way the author let us perceive their life in relationships with the MC was brilliant because you could actually feel what she was going through at the moment. And it was all relatable and believable.

It was my first time reading a book by this author and I'm hooked. Her writing style is flawless. I could see and feel every word she wrote. I was invested in the characters since the beginning and I was left thinking about them whenever I had to put the book down.

I felt like a kid again, letting my imagination run & laughing with all the silliness & crazy adventures the characters experienced. I definitely recommend this book. Beware: this book could be considered as banned nowadays since certain terminology has changed its meaning through the decades. Also, some cultural aspects may clash.

This guide is great for beginners & an amazing tool for the experienced. The techniques & tricks he shares are easy to understand. He is very honest & doesn't sugarcoat anything. Knowing it's okay to make mistakes makes a difference.
I loved the detailed examples with photos on how to achieve certain illusions. Undoubtedly a great book to own even if you are not a cosplayer.

pickI really enjoyed this graphic novel. It was my first time reading this author and I‘m not disappointed. This book is beautifully written and full of emotions. It‘s a story that needs to be told and it‘s written from the point of view of the characters who are going through all the pain and hardships in their lives since they were very very young. A story that sometimes is full of hope and sometimes so heartbreaking.
