This is definitely horrific, and the art is interesting, but the story is disjointed and hard to follow. It may be the author‘s intention, but I did not enjoy reading it. I pretty much only finished because it‘s short. 2⭐️
I SHOULD be working.
But I think I deserve a tea and book break,
@Avanders 😍 this mug! It‘s keeping my tea nice and hot.
My witchy Halloween #bookspin and #doublespin selections.

This was an interesting graphic novel where the wytches are not what one would expect from classic lore. Instead they‘re more like demonic beings who influence those around them to do horrible things in a evil pact like relationship. Read my #Bookspin book for once. #BookspinBingo #scarathlon2021 #TeamHendrix #screamathon #wickedathon #BFC2021 +66 pts
This was creepy and awesome! I love that the whole thing is basically a metaphor about human selfishness and the power of love. Really brilliantly done!
I loved the concept, the father-daughter relationship and the art style here but it was honestly very hard to tell what was going on a lot of the time. I like mysterious but so many cliff hangers weren‘t cliff hangers cause I was just like ‘I‘ve forgotten who that was, am I scared of them?‘ It was fine but I probably won‘t continue the series.

I must admit, I was a little confused at first. The way the timeline jumps around isn‘t always very clear. It feels a little disjointed. I ended up figuring it out and enjoying the story, but I think the confusion could turn some people off from this. Overall I thought the story was pretty dark and interesting, and I enjoyed the artwork.
+16 for #TeamHarkness theme

Wytches by Scott Snyder and Jock
I'm not sure how I missed this when it came out, but it's amazing. Sailor and her family move to a new home, but there's something hunting her in the woods. The Wytches are these ancient monsters who kill their pledges and in return, they gift the townspeople with their heart's desire. I love graphic novels and I love horror and this was fantastic!! #graphicnovel #horror
I saw this & the cover instantly caught my eye. I‘m always hesitant to pick up graphic novels (seriously need to get over this) & Im freaking out because this was so above my expectations & absolutely creeped me out in the best way possible with the storyline & artwork. I finished this in one sitting; it‘s dark, raw, scary & couldn‘t put it down. Five stars - any horror fan will enjoy this gripping read. #bookswithbohemianyogini
I knocked out one more before I had to get ready for the day. I love this series! The artwork is just so good and the story is great! I think I love Scott Snyder‘s letter at the end of each issue the most. +11 (team theme/post) for #TeamStoker #Scarathlon #24b4Monday
This book is creepy!!!! When the Room family moves to New Hampshire for a new start, something old is reawakened. Wytches haunt their daughter Sailor, trying to take her life. But who pledged Sailor‘s life to the wytches? And can they be stopped? +11 (team theme/post) #TeamStoker #Scarathlon #24B4Monday
For most of this, I seriously have no idea what was going on, it was so disjointed and the artwork didn‘t help either. Even the characters were confused.
Supposedly it was about ‘wytches‘, and this family who had moved to a new town after their daughter had been bullied....
Talk about a mess.

What better time than a readathon to knock off my #comicorgraphicnovel for #booked2019? It‘s a quick read, and a palate cleanser between longer novels.
Unfortunately, I find that most graphic novels are not for me. This is no exception. It was interesting, but not creepy or scary, and the characters were just a bit over the top. I have no plans to continue the series 🤷🏻♀️
⭐️⭐️⭐️
Dig the art, but felt the story could have been better fleshed out. Scott Snyder‘s essays at the end of the graphic novel give more meaning to the Wytches world and take this from a so-so rating to a pick.
Love this! Cannot wait for more. What a great horror graphic novel! ❤️📚❤️
Wytches is an entertaining and spooky read for comic book and horror fans. The art style is specific for portraying dark tones, and it gives a sense of eerieness and the unimaginable. Furthermore, the story focuses on the consequences of selfishness, and the importance of inner strength in the face of danger.
I can't tell you how much I love my #witchpleaseswap 📦! @Chocamanda you are a great stalker, I mean gift giver. The tarot deck is amazing & exactly what I was hoping for. The ♒ print & vintage photos are so cool. The books were on my wish list. The #manpanion already stole most of the candy, but I threatened him to stay away from the oreos. The thins are sooooo good. Thanks!
Hey, @thelibrarian, did you take advantage of us living in the city to stalk me irl?? I'm blown away most by the fright night magnet, because that's one of my all time favorite Halloween movies! Thank you! #halloweenhorrorswap
Loved this series. Very creepy. Fingers crossed there is going to be more. Has nicely set the mood for Halloween this year...

The best things come in threes - books, beer, cupcakes.
Successful haul this weekend. 👌
This was last book read yesterday. Challenge was to read a book while wearing a hat. My hat has a Stephen King phrase from Dark Tower received from Nocturnal Reader box. This story had potential but it was confused. Developed in actions of what happened in the past and current time. It is about witches and creatures that hunted and kill people that were pledged. Illustrations were too obscured. I didn't understand the high rating in GR 2.95⭐️
Finally got to reading Wytches from cover to cover earlier this week and liked it but would have wanted a little more of the supernatural and a bit more of a conclusion. #fridayreads
"Pledged is pledged."
I'm giving this another try. I read the first three issues and just couldn't get into the story. Hopefully reading it through the first arc will help.
This was surprisingly #creepy! The concept and drawings are really unique and frightening. These #Wytches are not your traditional #witch as I had expected. These are more like #nightmarish creatures with the powers of a traditional witch. Overall, I really enjoyed it and loved the illustrations!!
I also loved her diary. That was really creepy and cool.
This felt a bit rushed but the concept is stellar and just the right amount of disturbing and the art is fantastic.
At times, a creepy, unsettling story about the disappearance of children and the dark creatures that inhabit the woods. While I found it interesting and will likely read future volumes, the pacing felt a little off for me.
Interesting take on witches, although the pledging system seems like something that would quickly get out of hand... Like, a bit too quickly... 🤔
A pretty great horror comic. My only criticism is that while the art is beautiful and nightmarish, the style means that it can be hard to follow what's happening. But still, really good.
(Despite the fact that I question if the writers can point out Litchfield on a map. I know it's fiction, but why use a real place if you're going to make it so completely unlike it? It's a weird choice.)
When the book you're reading takes place in your (very small) hometown.
But guys, I take exception to remote. We're like a mile from a pretty busy airport.
I came out of the shower this morning to find this. She had the whole bed and chose to lay on my book 😂🐕#dogsoflitsy
The wytches weren't as nightmare-ish as I hoped, but still definitely creepy! The art was pretty busy and hard to follow at times, but I really liked the mythos and Sail, so I'm gunna want to pick up the next one!
