I‘m currently up in PA with the #manpanion.
This morning I had tea with a cinnamon swirl donut.
I just finished putting pork stroganoff into the crockpot for dinner.
Then I‘m cleaning the kitchen and doing laundry.
I plan on spending the evening reading, knitting, and playing backgammon with the manpanion (who does not have WiFi so no computer work or tv streaming😬).

I got it when I was still very new to knitting, and the lace section didn‘t go as planned😆. Will start again one of these days, as the pattern and colors are gorgeous. Things We Do in the Dark: A Novel | Jennifer Hillier

My #BOTM blue box came while I was down in PA at the hospital. I drove up to get some more clothes and check on my #litsykitties before going back down to the hospital. Thank you to everyone who has sent their thoughts and prayers. The #manpanion is still in the ICU but is more stable.

On a lighter note, you may notice that the duster is in the picture of my very dusty #bookshelf. It must be on vacation.😅#nojudging

Death in Castle Dark | Veronica Bond

Well. Good news and bad news.
I‘ve recovered from Covid, but the #manpanion is in the ICU . Covid turned into pneumonia and his oxygen levels were dangerously low.
Thankfully I can stay in the room with him. I‘m trying to keep myself distracted with this cozy mystery & some knitting.
I‘m writing this because I know many of you have gone through the same thing, can understand, & maybe be able to offer advice.
PS I‘ll be a late mailing #LMPBC out.

Avanders Oh no I‘m so sorry to hear that!!! 😢 Is he eligible for the paxlovid pill? When my husband got covid a few weeks ago, he also had a spiked fever and a problematically low o2 level and had to go to the hospital, but he was eligible for the pill and recovered in just days. Hoping you get some really good news soon 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 3y

Kayla.Adriena I'm sorry this is happening, my advice is even though the doctors and nurses seem busy rushing around if there is something you don't understand or doesn't seem right don't hesitate to ask them! They're looking at monitors and numbers and sadly sometimes forget your husband is a human being lying in that bed 😔 3y

Kayla.Adriena And also MAKE sure they are in some way moving him around in that bed and also doing passive range of motion and preventing foot drop! And as soon as he is able to get up to the chair and start moving around. I know it seems counter intuitive because we think sick = bedrest but rehab/recovery can be arduous especially after a respiratory illness like this 3y

Kayla.Adriena And finally my last bit of advice is to give yourself a break even if it's just 20 or 30 minutes outside the room such as walking to the gift shop or cafeteria or outside, I always did this after the doctors made their rounds so I didn't miss them. You're his biggest advocate right now , try to take care ! 💕 3y

MaleficentBookDragon @Kayla.Adriena thank you for all the advice. I appreciate it. I had a massive meltdown Saturday after the ER then the move to the ICU. I‘m a bit calmer now. I should be a pro at this. I spent a lot of time in the hospital with my dad when his cancer spread, then when my mom had her cancer surgery. My sister and her husband also had cancer. And then there was my cancer surgery. Sadly I‘ve spent too much time in a hospital over the last 12 years. 3y

I‘m really looking forward to this one. It almost makes up for having to cancel a fun planned weekend down in Virginia with my sister (we had high ☕️, 🪓 throwing, and Maverick 🍿 on the agenda 😞).

The #manpanion did good. He made me tacos for dinner and some chocolate covered strawberries for dessert. I‘m a woman of simple tastes. These are two of my favorite things since childhood.
