Nothing says the holiday season like Lesbian Necromancers in space..... right?
Oh this has to be one of the most disappointing books of the year for me... I honestly can't tell you what it was about because nothing happens I forgot absolutely everything about this book as soon as I finished it. The writing is beautiful but the actually story was terrible.
5 🌟 I loved this book so much, it was whimsical and dark and just everything I loved and I want to reread it again so bad!
I had been looking forward to read Circe for so long and it was such a let down for me, it read more like a text book. I just felt no connection or emotion through the whole book which was such a huge difference then how I felt about The Song of Achilles
So guess who decided that listening to The Stand by Stephen King while working at an airport and having to take public transportation during a flu-esqu global pandemic was a good idea....and now I'm freaking out and paranoid.
Finally diving in to this absolute monster to finish of my spooky season reading tbr!
Still making my way through The Dark Tower series and I loved book 3 The Waste Lands it's probably my favorite of the series so far. We really get to know the group a lot more and I love their relationship with each other.
How I went this long with out reading The War of the Worlds I have no idea but I finally did and I really did enjoy it.
I always have such a hard time rating short story collections because some stories I absolutely loved other I didn't care for at all so I always and I mean always end up with a 3 star rating an while this one was no different the stories I liked especially the very first one which I absolutely loved. The supernatural elements tied into the very real horror of what happens to womens bodies really stuck with me.
Okay... I literally never hear this book mentioned and I have no clue why it was so FREAKING GOOD! It was so much different then I thought it was going to be, I'm a huge fan of interview formats in books... no idea why but it was a pleasant surprise when I found it in here.
The very Disneyland meets Westworld, with the court case and murder mystery was just so much fun and all the sprinkling of fairytales throughout the story loved I it!
This was another book I have owned for YEARS and honestly just forgot about it, finally gave it a read after seeing recommended in a video and I did really like it, there were a lot of issues though and hits on some pretty heavy topics but it's definitely worth the read.
This book was a total cover buy and I had no idea what it was actually about when I started reading it but I loved it! This a YA kind of Handmaid's Tale and I was r a really surprised on just how much I ended up liking it.
This was another DNF I gave a second chance and really did end up enjoying! This was weird and pretty odd but in the end it was a wild ride of a book that was queer and gorey and definitely something right up my alley!
This was originally a DNF for me but I decided to give it another chance but as an audiobook this time around and you know what I really freaking enjoyed it!
It was a wild ride but so much fun the only thing that I wasn't a fan of was the twist for the final ending... it's just kind of ehhh... but it was a great book and a definite head trip trying to keep track of the mystery!
I love this series so much! Seriously I can't even pick a favorite because so far the 3 I have read have all been 5 stars!
Okay I went into this not knowing anything about it and even then I was really underwhelmed with it. There were just no really likable characters for me, the plot was pretty generic and honestly was really similar like really similar to the book I had just finished so nothing really stood out for me... well except the fact that rape is mentioned... EVERY....SINGLE....CHAPTER.
And the love triangle... why... just seriously why...
So glad I finally got around to reading this and finishing this duology it was really a great series with such a bittersweet ending and I definitely recommend it!
You know i really didn't know what to expect from this one since I never hear it talked about but I really enjoyed it! It was a really fun Snow White retelling that took the characters and really explored them more. I also really loved how they split certain characters into two or combined others. Also Sapphic romance 💜💜
Finally read Heartstopper and omg I loved it so much its so damn cute and just the kind of book I needed!
My July Wrap Up I read over 23 books!
https://youtu.be/yUFr66zASuQ
Oh oh oh I hated this book such... The Woods is an amazing character that's not an actual character but everything else I seriously hated.
The characters are flatter then cardboard.
The romance was abusive and awful the ENTIRE BOOK.
I really just can't with this book, if I had read this physically I would have DNFed it 20% in but some how I managed to finish the audiobook but I want the time of my life back.... can you tell I hated it?
I loved this book it takes a much needed look at friendships and that even at their best they're not always actually the best. It also has such an awesome view on letting go and accepting who you are and that you can be more than one type of person.
I have been dying to read this for months now and I finally did and it was everything I hoped for!
For such a small book it packs a punch and such an amazing world, I need to read the next book immediately!
Oh...oh...oh I was dying to finally start The Mistborn Trilogy and I still wasn't ready for just go amazing The Final Empire this has to have hands-down my favorite magic system I have ever read! The relationships and how they evolved through out the book though have to be my favorite thing about the entire book.
The world building is top notch and the characters are all so fascinating and well written. I can not wait to start the next book!
Finally got around to The Starless Sea I listened to the audiobook whole following along with the book and it was... BEAUTIFUL swept me away to a magical world of stories that I was not ready for it to end.
Honestly I was just so underwhelmed by this whole series I liked the setting and world building but that's about all. The plot was okay but nothing really unique I HATED every single romance but most of all I loathed one of the main characters so much she ruined the whole series for me.
Out of the series though Finale was the only one I sort of like.
Picture was from The Reading Rush photo challenge a book with your pet.
This book... this damn book was terrible and I am so irritated about it. The big draw for this is that it has a plot twist you'll never see coming..if you own the hardcover version of this damn book don't take the dust jacket off because there is an imprinting on the hardcover that gives away the frankly terrible plot twist but still it ruined any interest I had in the book.
Finally got around to reading A Darker Shade of Magic after having it in my shelf for years and I really enjoyed it and can't wait to read the rest of the series.
My day one photo challenge for The Reading Rush remake the cover of a book.. I decided to take part last minute so I threw this together last minute.
For The Reading Rush photo challenge: Cosplay a character from a book.
I went with Celia Bowen from The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern https://twitter.com/thesedustypages?s=09
..... I have owned this book for 3ish years.... I just finished it in under a freaking day.....
Okay I'm giving this book 5 stars and I honestly can't tell you how I feel at all...
Was it a good book? Yes
Did it have a good plot? Yes
Did I like the characters? I... don't know
Did I like it?.... I have no idea.... no seriously I have no clue how I feel right now.
Will I read it again? Most definitely.
I have watched the movie Matilda 1000x and some how I never read the book! 😱
Well I finally did and I loved it so much, but I won't lie i enjoyed the movie just a little more the ending for the movie was just slightly better and it's got Danny DeVito.
Okay book #2 for The Reading Rush for the prompt read a book entirely outside your house.
Reading Ice Cream Man Vol.1 which is a Adult horror comic!
Decided to join in on my very first Reading Rush and I'm going for 7 book and all prompts!
First book I'm reading is Matilda

I was really excited for These Witches Don't Burn and it was a very fun and cute book but not anything special. This would have gotten a better rating from me but one of the characters managed to annoy me so damn much that she brought the rating down. Also I guessed the mystery from the beginning so there was that as well. But it was still fun and I do plan to read the sequel at some point.
Currently Reading: The Extinction Trails; Exile by SM Wilson
My June wrap up is finally posted for the #MakeYourMythTaker readathon and it includes 5 outfits because I'm extra like that!

Finally diving in to Brandon Sanderson with Elantris and holy shit less then a 100 pages and I've already tabbed a whole bunch and I am FREAKING LOVING IT!
I absolutely loved this comic! Seriously the story is a great retelling with an awesome twist... but... oh man but... the art work is GORGEOUS seriously after reading this I flip through it 2 more times because I just wanted to look at the art work over and over.
Honestly I bought this for two reasons 1) It's Neil Gaiman and 2) that damn cover is gorgeous! This is a comic that is a dark take of Snow White and oh man I loved it the story is great but the art... oh the art is freaking beautiful!
This was a total cover buy for me and I didn't even know what it was about when I started because I randomly grabbed it off my shelf but you know what this was such a fun book. The plot was great it had a nice big cast if characters who each got their own story and it's LGBTQIA+ which was an even bigger plus for me!
Definitely recommend it for a quick standalone read!
Video is up for my July TBR and the 90s PopCulture Readathon https://youtu.be/4U7s9ZpKoQs #popcreadathon
I really enjoyed the beginning of this but the longer it went in the less I cared what was happening. I did really enjoy Rielle's part of the story but when it came to Eliana's the story just kept losing me.
I went with a 3 star rating and I'm not really sure if I will continue the series or not just yet.
Oh man... what can I say about this book except that I hated EVERY SINGLE PAGE. Like seriously this was the most underwhelming predictable cliché ridden book I might have ever ever read and there is not a single likable character for me.
I use to see nothing but good things about this book and I'm like did I read the wrong book or.... the only reason I didn't DNF it is I was reading it for a readathon and as a buddy read.
Finally read Muse of Nightmares which I've had since it was released and I really enjoyed it, didn't love it as much as Strange the Dreamer but it was a good ending and I can't wait to see if Laini Taylor will explore the world more!
Finally got around to reading this and most of the book was a solid 3 stars for me, I loved the world but didn't care about most of the character's especially Cath she honestly just annoyed me and I found her such a weak character for most of the book but I ended up giving the book 4 stars because the last few chapter especially the ending I freaking loved. My favorite character was Hatta though, wouldn't mind a whole book just about him.
Okay I started this book years ago... like when it first came out and just never finished it... because I hate finishing series because I'm an idiot... and oh man do I feel like an idiot because I loved this one so much it was such a perfect ending to such a fun series!
