My nephew sure does like his books! 😍😍😍
My #highlightoftheday for you (I just decided I'm going to make this a recurring hashtag)
I love everything that Oliver Jeffers creates. Art like this makes me happy to work in the children's section. This isn't just a picture book, it is so much more. A love letter to books, stories and the neverending world of imagination ❤️ *crying*

We loved Oliver Jeffers and when my kids were young I tried to find his books to read to them. This is a tale about the joy and rewards for reading and sharing stories. A lovely read for young and young-at-heart.

My oldest dude is practising his math skills, using piles of books. I guess you could say he's my son 🤗

5⭐️ Why doesn't Oliver Jeffers have more awards. Seriously. The guy writes picture books that make you want to rip your heart out and share it with everyone around. This time, a little girl is telling the reader what it is like to live in a world of stories. To be full of imagination, to dare, to dream, to be anyone you want. Add amazing illustrations, and this book should have a Caldecott medal on the front. Alas, it doesn‘t, but read it anyway.
My #Firstreadoftheyear and my #shortestbookIread are both picture books. It was a close call for stortest book, since the tagged book is 36 pages, while Night Shift is only 32.

A girl of imagination sails a #seaofbooks in this beautiful celebration of the written word.

I got this book from the library today for my little dudes, and now I NEED to own a copy. I don't know that they quite cared for it on a first read, but I fell in love. All the feels. A love letter to books, imagination, and bookish childhoods.
I don't know that the photo does it justice, but the mountain they are climbing is made from the text of Peter Pan 😍😍😍
I have three shelves in my bedroom and a couple downstairs as well so there's no way to get all of them in one shot. (I live with other bookworms so we keep buying more shelves -- and more books! It's a vicious cycle.) Some of the shelves are organized by color or genre but this one is just random.
This shelf has my record collection below it and my art print collection on the walls above.

The illustrations using words of books are amazing. I am a child of books. I love that a girl is leading a boy to stories and imagination.

This is a scene from my favorite #childrensbook (picture book), A Child of Books. It's definitely a reader's book, with beautiful book and font themed artwork. #riotgrams
After having a bad day and driving to hospital with grandma all I need now is a pretty little story. 😙 Bf just bought it in a little book store today.
@Kalalalatja Do you remember this? 😉
It is my first day back in school after the holidays today, so I am pretty tired. Therefore I went for something light as my first read of 2017. Sweet illustrations with quotes from classic children's books and a simple story about the wonders of books. A great way to start a new reading year. And also my first read in both the #LitsyAtoZ and #readharder challenges 👌
I don't have a #thismonthstbr exactly. Instead I am just gonna read what I want to from my TBR shelf pictured above. Plus I got a couple (or six) books coming in the mail next week. So I have enough to choose from 📚

a part of my Christmas haul: you think my family knows I like books? #merrychristmas
A beautiful picture book for adult book lovers but maybe not actually a picture book for kids, at least not young ones.
I bought this book for my daughter for Christmas, it's a very cute, fun story. I love that the illustrations are built on text from classic works like Alice's adventures in Wonderland.
This book!! 😍😍 It's going to be hard to wrap this one up and give it away!! 😍😍
"I have sailed across a sea of words to ask if you will come away with me."
This children's book is amazing! I saw it at Powell's and I wish I had a kid to give it to.
I was inspired by fellow Litsy users to share my reading stats for 2016. I suspect this will be updated by end of the month.
I bought myself a gorgeous picture book today. For me. Not for my kids.
New York Times-bestselling author/illustrator Oliver Jeffers and fine artist Sam Winston deliver a lyrical picture book, inspiring readers of all ages to create, question, explore, and imagine. #CopperfieldsRecommends
I couldn't resist picking this book up on my weekly stop at Indigo.
A very beautiful and whimsical picture book about the importance of books and imagination. Sam Winston's art was a great mixture of ink, word, and photography. I especially loved the page where the trees were made from books! I thought this was quite different from Oliver Jeffers normal books, which usually contain a good amount of humor.
A charming and imaginative picture for book for kids who are a little older. A girl rides a sea of stories to help a boy stuck in a box of facts. Featuring wonderful text-based and combo drawing and photo illustrations, it's really wonderful. I'm. Using myself a copy!
The story and illustrations combine to create a beautiful book for children and adults alike. Lines from literary classics including Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Peter Pan are used to create images that spur the imagination.
A recent fave library find!
This image barely captures how incredible this artwork is! Definitely my new favorite picture book!
(The text to the left reads, "This is our world" ...To the right, "we've made from stories.")
This year's indie bookseller's gift guide is full of such good stuff. Going to take a walk and paint the town with it.
This book almost made me cry when I saw it today! It so perfectly illustrates the significance of the love for reading and imagination.
" and upon my Imagination.... I float." Love love love.
#literarytattooalert
A beautiful early birthday present from @WanderingBookaneer today! The book is simple, yet amazing. I love it! ❤️❤️❤️
A perfect picture book for anyone (of any age) who loves the classic stories and of course books in general. Oliver Jeffers and Sam Winston incorporate quotes from the classics into the book's illustrations to emphasize the precious nature of stories and the imagination. Every book lover should have this love letter to books!!
What a wonderful and beautiful book! I could look at the illustrations, most of which are made of words, forever. Just amazing.
Under the dedication is this quote: "The universe is made of stories, not of atoms." Muriel Rukeyser.
From what I read on Litsy, we each could be called "A child of books." This is the library copy but I just love this book. I think I need one that is mine, mine, mine. ?
To me, it's all about the magic of words, no matter where they are. The previous page: "on my imagination I float."
Thank you, @OliverDepp at @WORDBookstores in Jersey City, for turning me on to this gorgeous children's book. Everyone in the store adores it--it is practically their little pet. Illustrated with really intricate typography that you can actually read. And this store is in such a charming neighborhood! Get over there. #getindie
