As soon as I finished this book, I told my partner, “This guy will get hammered by Gen Zers and Millennials for not being sufficiently woke to their liking.” And it appears I‘m right, from what I‘ve seen so far. But I appreciated his perspective and his desire to pass on advice from his experiences. No father is perfect, but Jackson certainly has worked so hard to try to be the best parent he can. And here‘s the super cute, and gorgeously curated, The Bookshop Nashville. It‘s a teeny store with so much color and character. It makes my heart happy. 💚 Luckily, this shop did not sustain damage from last week‘s horrific tornado, but with all that‘s going on here, and in the world, it felt good to contribute to the East Nashville economy. We‘re visiting our Colorado family over the holiday and finally got to check out #OldFirehouseBooks in Fort Collins today! How cool is this building?? We loved the shop so much we checked out 3 times (oops). 😆💸 My favorite part, though, was when my 6 year old said, “I‘m just gonna check out some more of these Eric Carle books.”

On the East side of Central Park at 58th & 5th, the iconic Strand Book Store has set up a kiosk. There, I purchased a quintessentially NYC story, this time re-told in gn form: It‘s an über-meta detective story where the protagonist goes a bit insane as the case goes on. I can‘t say that I really understood it 100% but it will be worth the time to re-read it more thoroughly. B&W panels - Amazing composition.

I picked up Pegasus for Man Cub because he‘s interested in mythology at the moment and $4 isn‘t bad. If you have any suggestions beyond Rick Roardin for mythology books or series (it doesn‘t have to be Greek myth it can be any kind) I would welcome them.
