Finished my audiobook while working on some Christmas gifts
Shadowshaper was amazing! When I try to weite book reviews I lose all my words or end up sounding overly formal, but this was a great #ownvoices read! I love the idea of fighting evil with art.
I read her Christmas books every year. It's the closest thing I have to a guilty pleasure.
Slowly making progress on this book. Really enjoying it but there's a lot going on. Also, pieces of the book sometimes fall out onto Valentine, which she does not appreciate.
Valentine helped me take some pictures for you all! 😂
I own two copies of this because the smaller of the two belonged to my mother. She purchased it in a used book store in Nicaragua when she was in the Peace Corps.
Not too sure how I felt about this, honestly. I guess it was fine? It was a quick read and kept me entertained. I didn't love it, I guess.
Free books at my conference! I was nearly crushed to death but all of the authors were super nice 😊
Getting caught up on my Netgalley reading! You can tell I am super behind because this book is already out! 😂 Also, sorry for boring photos this weekend. I am at a conference and hotel rooms make for bland backgrounds
As I was reading, I felt the book reminded me a lot of The Ghost Map by Steven Johnson, which was amazing. At the end, the author said she based her book on his. While this was a totally solid read, and a great intro to cholera for kids (which is a really weird idea), I think I wiuld have enjoyed this more if I'd read it first. Still, a really good book.
Reading at the charging station and waiting for my flight to Pittsburgh for a conference. The glamorous life of a librarian!
Listening to a great classic mystery with my reading partner, getting my hygge on!
Filling in my Jackaby gap. I really wish there was more of this series! It is so good!!
We actually ended up finding it on Amazon. Either way, good stuff!!
Sooooo gooooooood
I constructed my usual clever cat trap this morning by sitting on the couch with a book and a quilt, but to no avail. The cat has better things to do, apparently!
This book is very good but makes me very tense. Since it is about children and the Klan, that isn't a surprise.
Currently working on homework for an online class I am taking, but earlier today I finished reading Everything, Everything and it was wonderful. So excited about her new book coming out!
My book group's November read (plus a leftover storytime craft)
My holds came in!
A few of the books that I need to read for work
I would like this book to move along a little more quickly than it is. Maybe if I were more interested in Freud's theories?
I have always like my freckles!
Just started reading this today and already hooked. Reading on the train as I head into Chicago for the day.
For reasons, I put off reading this book for 4 years but I finally finished it today. I am glad I did not read it sooner but also glad that I have read it now.
Why does Rex Graves seem only to know unbelievably self-absorbed people?
The Haunting of Maddy Clare was amazing! It is a post-wwi mystery/ghost story. I don't usually go in for anything scary but I would say that this book was more spooky than scary. It has atmosphere. A perfect October read.
Sewing and listening to a good spooky mystery!
Listening while getting in some quality time with this cuddle monster ❤️🐱❤️
Spending a cozy morning knitting, cuddling with cat, and listening to Whose Body? while ignoring the fact that I have to go to work today.
Picture book break before bed! I really enjoyed this one!
Cozy Saturday night. For some reason, the cat prefers to watch my husband @johnmfrench play a video game rather than sit on my lap while I read. 🤔
For today's #octphotochallenge. I cannot even begin to express how much I love this series! It has the best portrayal of a librarian, too. I met Tom Angleberger and he made me my very origami yoda. I was devastated when I lost it.
Getting in the Halloween spirit watching The Legend of Sleepy Hollow!
This was so good! Really looking forward to the rest of this series and learning more about Hattie Davish.
A seriously powerful book. Fannie Lou Hamer was an amazing woman.
My favorite sidekick has to be Captain Arthur Hastings. He may not be the swiftest sparrow in the flock but he is a stalwart friend to Poirot and has a good heart. #bestsidekick #booktober
It is a source of utmost sadness for me that Ashley Weaver cannot write her books as fast as I read them. Such a great series!
There are probably books with longer titles, but this one always seems to give people trouble. I loved this book so much. Any book that is told in letters is always a draw for me. #booktober
So this book isn't about #disastrouskids but I do think we would have a lot more of them IRL if not for Jim Henson. #octphotochallenge
Agatha Christie's memoir of her time spent accompanying her husband on his archeological digs is charming and fascinating. It is a #memorablememoir for #booktober
Both of these folks do an excellent job of narrating their books. I enjoy both their literal voice as audiobook narrators and their figurative voice as the narrators in the books. #octphotochallenge
This was one of my favorite books as a kid! My teens put on the play at my library two summers ago, which made me super happy. So it is my choice for out of this world for today's #booktober photo!
This is the next graphic novel/comic on my tbr list. I bought it this summer at Printer's Row because I liked the cover. #octphotochallenge
My first ever Litsy post, made 5 months ago! Decided to join in on the #booktober fun a little late. 😊
How I'm spending my Saturday! (Each table has an author. Kathleen Glasgow is at mine.)
I could listen to John Dickerson all day! Also love learning quirky presidential trivia.
This is such an excellent series. Slowly getting caught up. Don't want to rush it, though! Then I might run out of things to read/listen to. 😂
