A friend of mine likes to make fun of me for once going with her to the state fair, forgetting to bring my wallet, but had managed to to stuff a book into my small crossbody bag.

I tried so hard to like this book. It had great reviews, the #CBBC group has been enjoying it. But … I just can‘t. I got about halfway through and I couldn‘t get myself to pick it up too continue it. It just didn‘t work for me.

Crime and Poetry is my nighttime listen while Dead Man in a Ditch is our road trip book. We are at the beach for the entire weekend for my birthday. I‘m off Monday, so we don‘t have to go back until then. If you can‘t read the sign in the top right pic, it says “mullet toss ahead.” Our trip coincided with the Flora-Bama annual mullet toss where people throw a dead mullet (fish) across the state line. Yes — a whole lot of people attend this event.

This book was so good! It was intriguing and fresh. So glad I have book 2 on hand!! And it‘s a new to me author and a few of her other books look good too.

alternating between reading the tagged book, napping, and watching HP. I think the kiddo is trying to fight another cold.

108 sun salutations in 42 mins yesterday so I‘m taking this lunch break off from working out. Playing outside with my two awesome pups and reading. This will give me the calm to deal with the chaos awaiting me back at my makeshift desk.

I love this cozy with a cat, enchanted books and tree and delightful characters. One of the main side characters is Native American. It also takes place in upstate NY. I‘m looking forward to reading more from this series! #cbbc

Love this author!! Really enjoyed this book and can't wait to read book 2 in this series!!

This was such a fun and enjoyable beginning to this cozy mystery series! There were a couple of times that had me laughing out loud. I‘m looking forward to continuing on with this series soon!

Book #3 of 2019

Starting book #2 for the #boutofbooks read-a-thon!

Here is my January TBR! There are many more books that I want to read this month but these are the highest on my list. (And I‘m currently reading An Anonymous Girl as my first read of the new year.)

My latest library haul! It‘s a cold winter day here so I‘ve got a big pot of chicken and rice soup in the crockpot for dinner. Now curling up with a book and relaxing. I love lazy days like this!

Exceptionally good cozy hit many personal preferences for me!

I like to break up my heavy reads with lighter stuff and this cozy mystery was fun. I listened to the #audiobook.

First book finished for the #24in48. Not bad, I'm willing to give it a shot. It does have some cliched bits and a little predictable characters but the mystery was decent. All in all, a good cozy mystery and if the premise sounds interesting, pick it up. I'll be getting the next book.

Almost done with my audiobook and will read a little more of The Count of Monte Cristo, then I'm going to read a comic. Maybe Saga Vol 2 #24in48

Giving my eyes a rest and listening to this book for the #24in48 No since in killing my eyes early in this. Enjoying it so far. A couple of annoying things, but hoping it doesn't ruin it (mysterious past event, two handsome men, quirky grandmother, protagonist not wanting to live in hometown but drawn back... read this scenario before, hope the setting and characters counteract it)

This is the first book in a series and it involves a bookstore full of magical charms where the right book "suggests" itself to the buyer. Violet's grandmother, Daisy, owns the store and tricks Violet into coming back to town to help. What I liked about this story was that it also had some educational moments involving US history that I was not aware of. Nice blend of fun characters and story telling.

Completed the #eBook and looking forward to another journey with Schwab's creations as I ended my #WorldBookNight #mybookswapclub

I'm home early from work bc I'm not feeling well. So Lucy and I are outside enjoying this nice weather. I got this one in my #bookmail the other day. Excited to start something a little lighter. I haven't been reading as much lately bc I've been focused more on writing. Time to get back to it as reading is so much more enjoyable than writing.

I read this and Prose & Cons out of order because I couldn't find this one to read first and I still really enjoyed this book despite kind of knowing what was going to happen. The author does a good job of maintaining the intrigue.

I mean, why WOULD I carry a purse that can't hold a book?? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Took an extra day off on this already long weekend so I could tackle a massive around-the-house to do list and then I woke up with a cold one day into my time off. Charming 😏 characters and village with a believable and well-thought-out mystery. I don't like mysteries that withhold key information so you can't figure it out, and this book walked the line of telling too much and not enough quite well. I'll read the next one!

Oh my gosh! What a fun book! It seems weird to say, but I really noticed how well paced it was. (Maybe because of a recent read that was much less so.) anyway, the book just flew by and I enjoyed it so much! A good cozy with a hint of romance.
