I‘m in love all ready! Swarthy “Spanish-ish” pirate 🏴‍☠️ who may have inherited a title. A “glamoured” lady who is trying to adhere to the Ton‘s rules, while resisting the urge to use her witchy 🧙‍♀️ magic. Sparks are flying already and they‘re each drawn towards the other. How will they defeat the watery “beastie with squirmers?!” 🦑

Miss Scarlet will be back in January 2026 on PBS Masterpiece!!!

This book had very little swashbuckling, but the hero was a pirate of sorts - more like a privateer and one close to retirement!

The book revolved more around a murder case and sleuthing for the Crown, than the heroine and hero getting to know one another and form their love bond.

Regardless, it was love at first sight and the moonstones glowed for them as their love continued to be pure and lasting! 💝

Finished the first part of the duology.

A bit predictable at times. Everything seemingly turned out well for Iris and Roman. And they weren‘t really rivals, per se, they both secretly liked each other before their true feelings were revealed.

I don‘t feel compelled to continue right away, but it would be nice to see how the story concludes. I think book two will be more dire and imminent with consequences for actions.

This was such a sweet romance of letting go and moving on from the past. And a good reminder for all of us to ask questions and not assume anything, it helps define relationships and creates boundaries.

I will definitely be continuing the series! My goal is to read one each year around RenFest time to keep the vibe going!

Started a new #Audiobook via #Libby!

It‘s been awhile since book one, but all the male characters of the romance book club are coming back from memory!

Such a cute premise; can‘t wait to see how Mac and Liv end up together!

The ending had me like, what how did that happen? (“Tiggers always bounce back!) Though I didn‘t always like Lo and her lack of finesse on a work trip, she wasn‘t wrong with what she saw and heard coming from “cabin 10.”

I cannot wait to watch the Netflix movie after October 10, 2025, starring Keira Knightley!!!

A fun read! There weren‘t as many choices as I would have liked, some of the section ended with no choice and lead to a flip the page and to another section. A bit silly at times with the action, it was more melodramatic! First time to read a choose your own romance story!

This was such a fun pirate romance!

The author is clearly a fan of #POTC, since I caught several phrases and other pirate lore from the movies sprinkled throughout!

One plot device I had figured out, while another I was surprised by, but it totally worked for the story!

Looking forward to reading the series!

My second read of Mansfield Park, definitely worth another read after 15 years. The ending felt a bit rushed and was more recap. But Fanny and Edmund realized they were just right for each other! ❤️
