Loved it! The banter was top notch. Can‘t wait to continue the series.

I always love a good slow-burn enemies-to-lovers fantasy, and “Powerless” was a solid start to this trilogy. I look forward to seeing how the sequel continues the current plot line!
I read this in tandem with Powerful and it was so with it! Definitely recommend this book. 🗡️
To start with, I really enjoyed the book. It was easy to get into, and it made me want to keep reading. It was good writing, though some things got repetitive. That being said, it was a mash-up of some really popular book series to the point that none of it felt original. Take Hunger Games, mix it with The Selection, add in some Red Queen vibes, have the main characters flirt the whole time, and you've created this book. ⬇️
Ljubljana in Slovenia is only a small capital and also happened to be my fourth stop. The highlight in the old town was their Dragon Bridge. Fitting that I also read a lot of #Romantasy novels during my journey.
Powerless: 1/5 (not 1 original thought in this series)
A Court of Silver Flames: 4/5
Kingdom of the Wicked: 2/5

Yesterday while at the #BarnesAndNoble there was this wall of books by a local MetroDetroit author ✍🏻
I think I‘ve read one, maybe two, fantasy books my whole life, but this one might have changed the game for me, No, it definitely changed the game for me. Her writing, for her age, is phenomenal, and she gets you totally invested in the characters.
I was a little obsessed with this book. Impatiently waiting for Powerful and Reckless to arrive back at work.
Not the worst book I‘ve read but certainly not the best. The story had potential but the writing was too repetitive and the banter between the main characters was annoying. I had 0 feelings for any of the characters and could not care less about them. Will not read the second book.
Finished this the other day and I thought it was pretty good I really enjoyed it. Gonna read sequel soon
I liked this, but it lacks...something. Something doesn't quite work. Too slow in spots. Kind of cringe-y that two brothers liked the same girl yet seemed mostly unbothered by this fact. I want to keep reading the series to see what happens.
Also, has anyone tried tearing a piece of their clothing off to bind a wound? Does it really only take a minute? Because everyone in this book seems to be able to do it way too easily and quickly. Lol
3 1/2⭐
Having a lovely afternoon of reading for me and tiny pool time for B.
🔆😎
this book is soooo good!
🌩️⛈️🌩️⛈️🌩️
A big thunderstorm is brewing outside and I'm tucked up in bed starting this veryyy anticipated fantasy series. A perfect day!
I oftentimes read completed book series and miss out on all the new release hype.
Book 2 for this series releases July 4 and I already have the special edition preordered..so what better time than now to read this! 🙂↕️
Here's hoping this lives up to the immense hype surrounding it 🫣🤞((i'm scared))
Thinking my next read (after I finish my current line up) I will tackle this. I figured this was a less intimidating tandem read than Empire Storms/Tower of Dawn. 🤔😂
I seriously have no idea why this book is so popular. If you‘re looking for a watered down version of Hunger Games with little plot past a love triangle, look no further… Paedyn is pulled fron the slums to fight in the Trials amongst Elites. Little do they know she is Ordinary, possessing no magic or power which is sentenced by death. The book picked up towards the end but the 90% slog to get there is not worth it.
4 ⭐️ Start of the book had me in a choke hold, where the final not so much. I loved the banter between Kai and Paeydn. Banter had me laughing out loud. My heart goes out to Kitt more though for how everything went down in the end. I have such disdain for that trope; it‘s the reason it lost a star for me. Did not expect that ending, as I had hoped for something better. Will be reading the sequel because I love the premise.
First farmer's market of the season! ☀️🌿 Just hanging out, reading, and listening to the live music! 💕📚
i‘m starting this book and I love it already. I believe i‘m on page 27 now and it‘s so good!
Powerless is a YA fantasy taking place in a world where a plague gifted you with a super power ( making you an Elite) or didn‘t (keeping you ordinary). Paeden is an ordinary who makes her living being a thief. She robs Kai, the prince and enforcer of the kingdom but also saves him. This brings her an invite to a competition with Kai and other Elites. I did enjoy this book and look forward to the next.

My sister is reading this book and was telling me about it

Books of March I don't regret reading a second
The hype is warranted. Some tropes are familiar but they were well executed. Although, there is some potential for more worldbuilding. I loved the characters and the narrative style. Kai is a swoon-worthy book boyfriend. The author has a way with words that made me smile and sigh contently. I highlighted so many passages. The chemistry is amazing and the teasing is so amusing. The cruel king was unfortunately displayed one-dimensional.
Is this a pretty obvious Hunger Games/Red Queen YA dystopian ripoff? No doubt. Did I still have a fun time reading it and enjoying the very slow burn romance? For sure. Light pick (3.5 ⭐️) that I would recommend if you enjoyed the YA dystopian era of the early 2010s, but it‘s not doing anything original and of course ends on a cliffhanger since it‘s the first in a duology. If you know what you‘re getting into and that sounds appealing, go for it.

This is my favorite type of book: a girl from the slums and rich royalty, forbidden romances, resistance movements, and trials that are basically the hunger games but with magical powers! I easily devoured this and cannot wait for book 2! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Nothing better than coffee and a book on a rainy day!! 🌧️📖☕️
My favorite book tuber can‘t say enough about this book, so I‘m here for it! About 70 pages in and I‘m really loving it so far. It‘s like a hunger games/fantasy/enemies to lovers romance all combined into one. And that cover 😍 #wintergames #GhostsofXmas
Is all over for my for you page and I just got it for Christmas and I‘m so excited to read it apparently from what I‘ve watched on booktalk it‘s like a forbidden romance but I‘ve seen a lot of amazing quotes, so I can‘t wait to read it
This book keeps showing up on my for you page but I can‘t buy it because I gave it to my relatives on my Christmas wish list and I know I‘m getting it for Christmas but I want to read it now i‘m also really hoping I like this book when I end up reading it because the second book is coming out next year
I have seen this book all over TikTok and I thought it couldn‘t possibly be that amazing. Boy was I wrong. I loved this book! I listened to the audio over two days and I was always transported into this world. I just recently got started on fantasy and this book was so good! I can‘t wait for the next one!
Ima need the second book nOw. Took me a sec to get into it, but once I was immersed, I couldn‘t get out.
