#moodboardcontest #mbc @dabbe

Currently burning with indignation at RFK‘s latest attack on autism. He‘s full of 💩 and pure evil.

Balancing that with my daily Walken dance to I Want to Break Free

Jonsing for my second cup of coffee but do not want to disturb a sleeping Pippin.

Congratulations on your milestone. I am so glad you are here!

To join in her giveway see her original post.

mcctrish Everyday some whack job spews some new ‘nonsense‘ that makes you question HOW THE F these people are here! How do they live during this timeline?! 5d
lil1inblue 1. Love the mood board. 2. So agree about RFK. I just want to scream. Also, a hearty FU to that moronic, disgraced “doctor“ that started spreading the vaccine disinformation about autism so many years ago. Oh, and Jenny McCarthy, too.😡 5d
Prairiegirl_reading I have worked with people with disabilities for almost 20 years. My organization supports people to WORK in the community, and they all pay taxes! So I know first hand that what he was saying is patently untrue. Not to mention what he said is so sickening regardless of whether or not a person can work or not. What an absolute asshole. I was just discussing with a colleague what we can do to combat this here in Canada. (edited) 5d

ncsufoxes As a mom of an Autistic teen I‘m disgusted & furious. I‘ve posted on FB several times about his horrible eugenics speech. I keep telling people to push back & don‘t normalize this idea. Autistic people are not a tragedy. They need support & services. They need people to stop stigmatizing their lives. We are not a broken family. We acknowledge there are hard days but people like worm brain make our lives harder. 5d

1) For many this book was nothing new but I recognized that voice in Ciara‘s head and became of that I couldn‘t help but root for her.
2) Meet Cute Diary - way too YA for me; Night & Day - short stories, my nemesis; I also DNF‘d Hester but I might try again. I think it was not the right time for it.

The soundtrack of the tagged play was released in 1970 and my dad bought the album. I was 11. Somewhere in the mid 60‘s my mother became a Seventh Day Adventist and our household drastically changed. Listening to this album constantly was an act of rebellion. She HATED it. This clip popped up on IG yesterday so I thought why not share here. I still know all the words.

With every book that begins in JA‘s world I always look for authors to stay true to the characters I know and love as well staying true to time and place. I rarely cussed until around 2019. Maybe because I turned 60, or because the end of that year was horrible and then 2020 came along with its own set of things 🤷🏻‍♀️. And to be honest I still don‘t cuss a whole lot but a well placed 💩, f*ck, damn does wonders. Nice to have a word to justify my profane word usage. 😂

#WeirdWords

@CBee

marleed Well, I was a civilian working for the DoD my whole career so I‘m proficient in profanity. Growing up we never would have considered a curse word in conversation with my dad (single parent). The benefit is that I am able to judge a room and deliver my f-bombs to a receptive audience. But there are times when there is nothing like a well placed f*ck to relieve stress🤣 3w

#NetGalley #WeeklyFavorite

As Sylvia and the Elm Street gang work through some financial challenges keeping quilt camp going, she reflects back to 1933 when she and her sister work together to sew a quilt for the Chicago World‘s Fair. I enjoyed the latest installment of this series. Always a pleasure to revisit comfortable places and likable characters.

The beauty of the Alaskan wilderness is on full display here in this modern take on the Beauty and the Beast fairytale. Although Birdie has community support raising her daughter she feels stifled by their always watching eyes. When Arthur offers her an opportunity to live in solitude, nature and maybe even love, it seems like the answer she‘s needed to make a positive change for her and Emaleen. 3.5🌟

Thank you #NetGalley!

1) Heart concert. They opened with a photo montage of 1 picture for every year since the band‘s inception. 2006 was EM and the boos were strong. MZ, the other douchecanoe featured, also was booed.
2) Bookmail
3) I caved because it makes me happy, Disney Spring from Costco.
4) Litsy! That last stat is strong because of this community and all the ways you have informed my reading and my growth. ⬇️

Deblovestoread 5) Finding companies to support who support my values. So long Starbucks. 1mo
MemoirsForMe I love all of these! 🙌🏻🙌🏻✊🏻✊🏻✌🏻✌🏻 1mo
Aims42 I haven‘t shopped at Target for a whole month and I don‘t miss it one bit. I switched my purchases over to Costco and Walgreens who still support DEI hiring practices 💛🧡🩷 1mo

#WeirdWordWednesday

I don‘t know why but this word always makes me stop in my reading. It never sounds “right” to me for some reason.

@CBee

I've been tracking my daily reading on Storygraph and we are now a quarter of the way done. I'm loving it, especially as a chapter a day book. Also, I got the calendar for our next season of Broadway in Portland and Les Mis is playing at the end of March next year! Perfect timing.

#Two4Tuesday

1) I can‘t pick a favorite but I love when my crocuses bloom as my first sign Spring is really on its way. Then my daffodils bobbing in the breeze.
2) Tagged book is always the first to come to mind and now that it has I want to reread it.

Want to play @dabbe @MemoirsForMe @TheLudicReader ?

Will be focusing more on King once I finish Murder on the Links for #ChristieCapers. Starting Star of the Seafor #BookedinTime, hoping the audio is good. Meet Cute Diary is for #TransRightsReadathon. That and my buddy reads will take up my reading time.

#WeeklyForecast

Amiable I‘m reading the King book right now —in hardcover! So it‘s taking me a while because I‘m not carting it around. 😖😄 1mo

#BookReport

It was nice to be back in the land of Elm Creek Quilt manor with familiar characters and places. A nice palette cleanser after the tension of Nesting. Still thinking on Calculations.

Another Monday wondering what 💩 will hit the fan this week. I‘m going to read the tagged book for the first time. I think it will be a nice escape.
